aaaaaaay 1thousandth view so cool to be there and watch it on stream in the moment
Hello too! Please don’t stop posting these breakdowns because they’re really helpful.
counted 120 moves
My solution: (41 moves and all I could find) z' x // inspection B R2 U' F2 L' U2 L' U L D // xxcross and setup free pair U' R' U R // third pair U' L' U L y' U R U' R2 // fourth pair and cancel into EO F' U' F U R2 U R' U R2 D R' U' R D' R2 U R U2 R' // EO + ZB
his solutions seem lucky but in reality i think he "creates" the luck. those 3 move inserts didn't come out of nowhere

hahaha that's so true
Thanks for the great reconstructions as always
So i guess yiheng is just getting 3s now?
casually
He’s gonna break it again before 2025, I sense it
Twice
No one with common sense really thought that tymon and others were closing in. Looking at yihengs times this WR avg was statistically inevitable, and he's gonna break that time again. Tymon or Max pulling of even a sub 4.5 is highly unlikely currently
Even Max's fastest solve from the 4.86 I think was 4.50 with a pll skip . It shows no one is on par
while tymon and max has no chance, it is possible for xuanyi to catch up with yiheng
@@JohnAJ-07 True, yiheng on the other hand will surely go down to a ~4.20sec average with his current level the more competitions he attemps. It's very possible that he improves inside of 2 years to get a mindboggeling sub 4 avg

if no one had told me that this was a 15 second solve, i would have never guessed it.
I was at nub open Yucaipa where he got the first ever 15… absolutely insane solve. Max was laughing after the solve, I heard bro say “the 4x4 solve was so lucky”
the big cube goat
I WAS AT THIS COMP IN COLORADO
First, he breaks the 5x5 wr single twice, then he breaks the 4x4 wr single twice
I was just there!
Bro how is his 4x4 solve better than my 3x3 average 😭😭😭
I got to say this is one of the best reconstructions videos I have seen. I really liked how you provided context to the 4x4 WR single in the introduction. It gave me a lot of insight into how the record has dropped over time. It shows how much you know about the record! I also really enjoyed the reconstruction. Knowing Max, the fact you were able to explain his solution is really impressive! All in all, this was a really good video! 😁
thank you so much!
I think u did the scramble wrong in the description
That's not fullstep because no parity
that doesn't mean it isn't full step
Bro what??? It is totally full step

Hi. I really enjoy your breakdowns! You mentioned somewhere that you’re a white cross solver only. This intrigues me because I worked hard to become color neutral when I started, but truth be told, I find little, if any, real advantage in it. I have lately been doing white only solves and find it refreshing to take the choice out of the picture entirely (not even W/Y). My focus on the task seems better, and white only feels no less engaging. Color neutral now seems like a hassle because my focus has to continually readjust. I like the idea of dealing with the full range of difficulties that random scrambles produce for one color. Color neutrality seems about expediency, and expediency can keep you out of practice for certain more difficult situations. Is your white only solving a conscious choice for a specific reason, or is it simply sticking with what you first learned? Do you wish you were color neutral, or do you think white only might be the best path for you. (I probably think about this issue more than I should.)
i want to first thank you for your comment and tell you that it is by no means a bad thing to think too much of how to improve my white only solving style is mostly just because of laziness and sticking to what i first learned, but also because i dont see that much value in turning cn. i think becoming color neutral might improve my times by 0.1-0.2 seconds or not at all and it's just not worth it to spend weeks trying to perfect it to get that little of an improvement color neutrality, if you're looking to become a world class cuber, would definitely not be detrimental were you to have it in your arsenal. it would definitely be useful to learn it, but seeing as tymon recently switched back to w/y, whether using it would actually give you an edge really just depends on yourself so if you're not dedicated to become a world class cuber, just dont worry about it. but if you are, both can get you top 30 in the world - the other parts of your solves should be more important in my opinion
@@breakdownof8378 Thank you so much for your thoughtful answer. I am definitely not looking to be a world class solver-at least in terms of speed. I don’t compete and rarely even time myself. I’m just trying to develop as deep an understanding of the cube as I’m able, because I find it an endlessly fascinating and never fully conquerable pursuit. I used to think being color neutral made me better-rounded somehow, but the experience was never quite as pure and focused as starting with white, and it did nothing to improve my understanding. It only scattered my thoughts, even though color neutrality isn’t particularly difficult for me-at least at my speed. White feels to me to be the best blank canvas for starting, easiest not to seem like a third color to remember to ignore in the F2L pairs. (If that makes any sense to you.) Plus it’s nice to entirely dispense with a kind of decision making that does me little good and makes difficult decisions even more difficult. Anyway, thanks again. You now have me feeling less guilty about becoming color neutral and then throwing it out the window for purely philosophical reasons. Looking forward to your new posts!
@@breakdownof8378 Your stated aim in your channel is to help other cubers improve by following your analysis of other top cuber’s solves. This indeed is helpful to me because I see what kind of possibilities lie ahead as I advance. You also helped me helping me to put into perspective my place in the world of solvers. Because I am not competitive and do this for my own pleasure only, I have decided not to abandon color neutrality. Because I like the idea of dealing with whatever challenges a random scramble produces for a single color, I can get the same range of challenges by choosing colors at random by flipping the cube around in my hands as if rolling a die. It’s not just one way or the other either. Nothing stops me from looking around to see what advantages any particular color offers and go with that instead. Because there are no moral issues at stake (or time pressures), I can take whichever approach strokes my fancy at any particular moment. This freedom of approach is part of of what makes cubing fun-at least for me. All this might be self-evident to others, but I needed to give the situation some analysis. Again thanks for your help, and I look forward to more of your videos.

Can’t he just inset BR with f’ L f
no top cubers (other than matty that I'm aware of) use "f" inserts because of bad look ahead and the alg ends in not home grip, which is basically the same affect of a rotation. Hope that clears it up.
@@qbing2 except the fact that it’s literally the second last pair and look ahead is very easy
@@rax1899 yeah thats true, it would probably be better to do that in this case but it is a rare case, so out of instinct ryan probably just something else
the execution is much worse and riskier compared to the LU-gen insert for top cubers (i know this applies to me and many other top solvers), and i mean you cant expect his solves to be perfect
