NDS 1200BLKIT 12" x 12" Catch Basin Kit Assembly
Просмотров 32 тыс.3 года назад
How to assemble the NDS Pro 12" x 12” Catch Basin Kit. Specifically how to configure the 4" Knock Out connection for connection to a 4" corrugated drain pipe.
yeah, WTF NDS, this is still not in their documentation.
Thanks so muchJason! You addressed the exact same issue that I had. Despite being told the unit came with instructions, it did not. In addition to answering my question, you provided other helpful advice that I will follow. Thanks again and be well!
I work for NDS. im a lead over in Lindsay ca. You actually got a undersized cap for the 1244 which was not supposed to get released but mistakes happen. Its not supposed to be that loose, I do apologize on behalf of NDS.
Where can I purchase these invisible hinges?
Dude! This was exactly what I needed... another video suggested silicon around each of the adapters, and the hose, but didn't mention the knock outs. You just solved my problem, thanks!
Thanks!
How do you secure the corrugated pipe into the fitting?
It's just a pressure fit. It kind of clicks into place.
@@jasonjesseph6424 Wouldn't that leak though? I assume you need to reinforce the connection with silicone or some waterproof tape.
Great info. Thank you.
Great video thanks for uploading.
Thanks for sharing. These are just what I need to know to route a soss hinge. Hope you can make a video to put everything together for routing out the mortise. All videos just show you to put the template on and route it but never tell you what is needed to use for the job.
I actually made detailed videos of how I carved out the mortises and assembled everything. Now I just need to get them edited and posted - some day! :)
Great video. Another option, I actually cut around where the 4 inch knockout is marked with a utility knife and it fell right out.
THANK YOU!!! Had the exact same question and was scared to start cutting for my 4" pipe until I knew exactly where to cut.
Good video - NDS needs to put some better documentation in these things so people can understand how to knock out the 3" portion if using 4" corrugated pipe, Silicone sealer on all connections seems to make them air tight and assist with combatting root infestation!
Yeah, appreciate this post. I really wanted to install these until I saw your post. Maybe when it becomes more of a hobby :)
Question. Is water supposed to leak out the sides of the holes where you put the pipe and the cap? The basin I have leaks water out of the sides when the pipe is in
Use Silicone sealer on all connections
How do you keep the pipe from coming out and sealing ???
When you get it all put together and in the ground just cut the hose a tiny smidge longer and the pressure pushing into the box will keep it in place. It's in the dirt so no need to seal it.
Thank you! Holiday weekend and have everything dug up and a rented excavator… did not want to bring everything to a halt breaking the knockout. The only thing I wanted instructions for and it wasn’t on the sheet.
Superb video. You answered everything I needed to know on this. Good job.
What you can do is hook up your pipe to the basin and then to a T fitting .
Dude that second piece is on wrong if your fitting a 4" pipe to.
I've watched a lot of Apple Drain videos and have not seen where he had to do that. He uses 4" corrugated pipe also. He also shows how to snap that piece on.
Thank you. I needed this! Great video!!
Thanks for video. Very informative and helpful.
Great video-I needed it! I added a basin filter for mine. Easy to take rinse off and reinstall.
It's harder to scrape the crud out with that fitting pointed inward...
Dude! You're my hero! Thank you for making this video. I'm putting a French Drain in and ran into the same problem with the NDS Catch Basin and the knock out. I'm all kinds of green doing these projects and your video helped me so much. I'm thankful for your thoughtfulness in making the video to help us newbies out. Be blessed!
My drain boxes are up against the house foundation so I need the backside to be flat, that's why I put the unused fitting on the inside. Probably should have stated that in the video.
NDS makes a flat cap that locks in the 2nd opening, think it was 4 bucks at Menards
Exactly what we needed!!! Thanks!!
OMG! The best video on how to set this up. I searched everywhere and even asked others. No one knew how to do it. Thank you so much!
Super video now I know how to assembly the basin, NDS instructions are worthless.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU!! This is the only video I found with actual instructions on how to do the knockout. SOOO incredibly helpful!
Thank you. No instructions about this lol. Thanks for the help.
I just got this. Thank you for sharing. Very helpful.
I installed everything the same with the exception of the second drain adapter and the plug. I did not want to sacrifice the catchment volume, so I placed it on the outside of the catch basin. I used some OSI gutter sealant that was laying around to adhere the plug to the drain adapter. By doing it this way, aside from the sealant, when you pack the trench with aggregate, that should serve as an additional force to hold the cap in place. The pressure from a 12" full catch basin is not enough to push the cap, sealant and aggregate; however, over time, the water and dirt on the outside of the catchment may eventually push your plug *in*. I dunno. Time will tell.
Thank you so much! Everything I needed to know! Awesome! A+
Thanks so much for the video. Super helpful.
Thanks Jason. I need a three outlet catch basin which means does this basin have an option of cutting out a third outlet. Thought it had....
Great job I was wondering how to seal the other end
man I needed this
Is the pipe supposed to snap into the adapter? Can’t seem to get a snug fit. It almost falls out. Thanks
Mine didn’t. I just cut the pipe a smidge long so it pushed into the adapter and box.
This was extremely helpful.
Thank you! couldn't figure the damn thing out!! FYI, make sure to use silicone on your hose connection...NDS prefers smooth PVC, but I have seen where corrugated actually clears debris better. Thanks again!
Bro you the fucking man. I spent a good 1 hr trying to figure this stupid thing out
Thanks so much bought one for my daughters house and was wondering the same thing !!!!
thank you- this video saved me so much time!
So there I was trying to figure out how to take the knockout out. I have done hundreds of electrical knockouts but I was ready to get out the saw. I owe you a beer! A case of beer! Thanks.
Dude thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed!!! Even the NDS website doesn't give proper info. I saw yours had some sort of paper instructions, mine did not! Anyway thank you for this video!
Questions??? I didn't seal my other outlet when I installed my catch basin. Is there any way I can seal now?
I watched the videos on homedepot site and they do say to put silicone sealants around the large adaptor when putting them on as well. Just FYI late to the party.
Thanks. Can the same thing be done to the 6 inch speedy basin.? BTW, no one has done a video of that...
Great video ! However, now that this is installed and working can you please report back to see if your 9 - 1/4 inch holes on the bottom of box are completely clogged. I am curios to see if holes on bottom with stone or fabric or whatever would drain the residual water in the box. I would imagine that the small holes would clog after 1st rain with dirt and yard debris.. But I am VERY COURIOUS... Again THANKS for VIDEO VERY NICELY DONE!
Everything is working well. In the end, I decided to line the bottom of the hole with landscape fabric and then just fill it with rocks and then set the box on top of the rocks. It’s draining well. I have very hard clay soil where I live so the water doesn’t drain into the soil easily, if I had more permeable soil I might drill fewer or smaller holes. Don’t put fabric on top of the rocks as debris pretty easily clogs the holes and prevents draining.
You read my mind! Great vid!
