Just removing the LDS solves the problem. But LDS keeps getting stuck sporadically. What may be the issue? Do I need to replace motor even wnen it's working? Or the whole LDS? Thx

Does anyone know which size are the two screws holding the motor to the laser head? They are stuck and I cannot unscrew them without damaging their top figure.

What type of screwdriver does the author use to unscrew those two pins ? I tried many types of screwdrivers but did not manage to unscrew it ...

I need help and RoboRock customer service is terrible. I couldn't remember my password and contacted the manufacturer. I was told it was my SIMS card and was told it should be removed and put back in. I asked how and was told I couldn't do it myself. I had to send it back to thsm at my expense. They couldn't give me a time frame. I have this device because I am disabled. Do you know what I can do to fix this problem? I need to use the remote but am not sure what to do. Thank you!

I fixed this error by applying a tiny drop of sewing machine oil on the middle of the small engine part, right where the metal pin sticks out, below the small orange thing the rubber band is attached to. Then I spun the whole thing with hand for a bit. In my case I didn't need to do the battery jumpstart gamer trick that most videos suggest. For those of you who are uncomfortable with messing with wires, I suggest trying the above first. Edit: Never mind. It broke again 15 minutes later.

My experience was this: Tried the trick with removing the LDS unit and powering it with a USB cable that I cut to expose the wiring and then power it with a USB powerbank. The turret spun, let it spin for 30 seconds or so and put it back in. It worked for some reason. At least for an hour. Then it stopped working again. Redid the procedure and it worked for again, but for a shorter time. Third time, the procedure didn't do anything. The LDS turret wouldn't spin anymore, even though I could move it by hand. I then considered replacing the entire LDS unit until I stumbled upon this video. Looked up the part on Ali Baba and it cost way less than the entire LDS unit. Worth a shot. I got the part in the mail two days ago and replaced the motor per the instructions in this video. And it works like a charm! My Roborock has run for 4-5 hours now since the replacement without errors. Thank you for the video! Saved me some money! 🙂

I could fix error1 on my S50 just by rotating the laser clockwise with my finger right after giving it the order to clean

Fixed mine today using this method (started having the problem after a longer period not being used). Normally the product should have had warranty, but the chinese was asking for 15$ as 'shipping' to send a new motor, when you can buy a new motor everywhere on AliExp for 12$ shipped. Curious how much time it will hold. if the problem returns I'll order a new motor from any source on Aliexp, and this so-called "warranty" offered by the seller on aliexp is BS.

What type of screwdriver did you use for the screws that are fixing the motor. I have trouble to lose it without scrambling the screws...

Thank you, I woudl like to confirm, my Roborock suddenly got Error 1, and the rotor of the laser stopped working. I did the trick and connected 9V battery for a while and it works. Shall I buy already a new motor just in case or wait?

How exactly to connect the 9V battery. Which pins and what I need to do to connect the battery? To remove the connector?

I turned off and on. Then starting to loosen the top cover then hesitated because I got warranty on it. Put cover back on AND then it worked 🤔 Really happy with the device but if this happens often I will buy another BotVac. Have one that I have had for many years only just needed to replace the battery.

Important. Before replacing the motor try to troubleshoot by connecting the motor to external source. 9v battery or usb cable and check if the motor running then just put it back and everything should go to normal. The motor can get clogged with time & external power source can help to run again to normal. It worked for me & other people with the same problem.

Hi everyone! i'm kind of lost - i have error 1 - lds error and I buyed spare part (diode with housing): www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-LDS-Laser-light-replcement-5mw-for-XIAOMI-Robot-Vacuum-Cleaner/32831623653.html ... I have already dismantled the entire motor unit and got to the old/not working diode, but if I mount new one - will it require additional calibration? If yes - Does anyone have any instructions to restore the vacuum cleaner to life without spending $ 100 on a new part?
