A good sign of monsall going down is shown with that kid being allowed to wear a City shirt
Shine on Andy Barker 🙏
wow how much better was it back then, to the total mess it is now, would much rather be back in those times...great vid thanks..😊
Excellent manager of young players say under 26! Roy Keane should have gone to Italy though when he reached a certain age as Alex wasn’t soo good with the older players.
Great manager but he was an obnoxious, arrogant Arsehole, with a meglamaniac demeanor and had the attitude of what I say goes to everybody
Is right Fergie lad😂
Lol,he spotted him straight away, you can take the boy out of Govan…😂
I think he was just asking the nice respectful reporters for something for his cough?!
LEGEND 😂
You cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
Brought up in Collyhurst. Went to St Patrick's boys school.Loved every minute of it. If there was such a thing as a time machine and I was asked if I would like to go to the past or future, I would Deffo choose the past, the 60s.
Bless you. Thank you for sharing these wonderful historic photographs!
Just been watching this video and was not only surprised but happy to see my grandfarther at the coop shop on valley street
The Smiths Songs as brilliant and bleak as they are, always reminds me of wet Sunday Afternoons.
Thanks for the memories Collyhurst till i die
Dome also opened in warrington and i think maybe Blackpool or that could of been the pleasure dome .
Really enjoyed the video of my local area. Thanks for the memory'
Wtf did photographer do to fergie... Fergie looks like the troublemaker in this 1
The music track is Tuscon Tease by John Deley and the 41 players.😎❤
Very nostalgic and a good range of pubs - well done!
Excellent it's how I remember Manchester, thank you,can anyone tell me the name of the music?
Does anyone know what maisonettes are at 5:20?
i think they're on Farnborough rd miles platting
@@fac51nh I thought it was Charnley walk maisonettes. My gran used to live there years ago. I can hardly remember though so you're probably right.
@@Zoe-dr5ps they're all very similar. Think Charnley walk is now called Charnley close and the maisonettes have long since had the tops taken off and are just houses now.
@@fac51nh That's sad, I'd do anything to see the inside of her flat again. Thanks for getting back to me. Appreciate it
@@Zoe-dr5ps no worries.... my Nanna lived in the area so I know what you mean 👍
Brought back some memories that, used to come down from Openshaw Village, I was born in Miles Platting but we had to move when they demolished all the terraced streets from Bradford Road to Sandal Street, just past the Cricketers back in 77/78. I still went to Corpus Christi though as my Mum worked for Speedprint at the top of Bradford Road
This has to be from mid 1992 onwards, as someone said "Rhythm Is A Dancer" by Snap was only written and produced earlier that year and released in June.
What an amazing atmosphere Manchester must have had before those who knew better decided whole swaths of it had to be destroyed.
That’s all changed from when I was a kid playing down there
My streets are Butler, Holland, Woodward, and Brown Cow Pub. I remember it well looking back, the photos are Amazing THX xx
Does anyone know why a lot of the old world buildings have 1904 written on them? Lots of buildings from the art gallery at st peters square to the bank buildings in Piccadilly. The buildings definitely weren’t built in 1904 and no images from that time can show it
Rovers Return at 4:15. A 500 year old building razed in the '50s. A disgrace!
Good old hyper-globalisation.
I lived with my Gran in Miles Platting Maisonette Flat as in the pics , in late 70s early 80s remember the pubs ,been in a few of them, Lancaster pub was across the road, went in the Old Pack Horse one of the oldest pubs in manchester before they knocked it down, it was a community then. shit hole now and foreign.
touchingly marvelous tribute of a fantastically tantalising slideshow, wow!!
photograph it all before grubby corporateers get to having their wicked ways with our legacies: 🍸 ruclips.net/video/u_d1fIb8LqY/видео.html 💋
aha! so 'gas' had been a part of GB's petroleum vocabulary (Mobilgas)
Ancoats was my old mans drinking patch....Webster anyone ?
Some bits are better and some are worse. Piccadilly gardens was better then than now but some bits are better now.
at 1.26 i remember the brown cow pub on the corner of butler street where we lived in the 60s.
This wasn't in the 80s it was at least 92 coz that's the year rythm is a dancer came out.
Good, positive comment from you then .
Wow I grew up ruff as fuck but I never went hunting rats for a buzz 😅 🙃 🤪
A good positive and interesting comment from you then.
Houses are just structures, homes for people . Why do governments and local authorities think that by rebuilding, they can cure societal problems ? I can remember the monsall being built . It was a model estate and everyone wanted to live there . The problem is generations of degenerate kids dragged up in often dysfunctional and broken homes. They should be removed from home to secure facilities for education and training to turn them into useful people rather than continuing the circle .
Wow what a video come on the devils 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🥇 Alex Ferguson the king
Thanks for this, I lived in Samouth Rd flats and a lot of those photos bring back great memories
It took the IRA bomb to get Ancoats, Miles Platting, Collyhurst and Monsall to get investment otherwise the place would still be in squalor.
Have you seen collyhurst lately.... absolute mess, fly tipping and people just throwing rubbish everywhere..
@@fac51nhhave a look now full of millionaires from Hong Kong, the council houses are some of the most expensive in the city and the private homes are nearly 5k a month to rent
I love Manchester ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
FAC 51 NH I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS OF MANCHESTER , WATCH MY VIDEOS YOU WILL LKE THEM, TOO STEVE, GOOD OLD DAYS 😃
Absolutely brilliant
Interesting looking at the pictures, however everything is so dark & dull.
Big shout out to my father at 6:50 from when he was younger
Monsall now is shit If I was born back then that cocky councillor would of got his hair peace snatched an sold to a pensioner at the clarry for a 2f15
Census information since 1991 shows that the White British proportion of Manchester's population has declined as follows; 1991 85% 2001 74% 2011 59% Given this rate of decline the British will by now be an ethnic minority in Manchester and it can no longer be considered a British city in any meaningful sense.
Unfortunately not only in Manchester.
Bad news all round.
British people are not all white. Don't be silly.
