Beckler Peak Trail - The payoff at the peak
Here is some drone footage of Beckler Peak. The drop-off from the end of the trail is dramatic and the cell reception is not too bad up there!

A Winter Day in Amsterdam 2019
Просмотров 94 года назад
Here's a little travel video on a day in Amsterdam at the end of 2019. We packed a lot into one day and have some advice on whether the I Amsterdam City Card is worth it. So, visit some art museums and tour the city with us. The video thumbnail is a fun picture provided by the #rijksmuseum sponsors that you can create in the main atrium.
Namur Wold Cup 2019 - Junior Men
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
The first race of the day at the Namur Cyclocross World Cup was the Junior Men. Thibau Nys was in the leaders jersey and he showed why. This was my view of the race including the start, one of the runups, the classic off camber section, and the sandy downhill that turned to epic mud later in the day. In the off camber section, watch for two guys crashing at the same time. One flips completely o...

This video is my view of the Heusden - Zolder Round of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup 2019-2020 U23 Race. Kevin Kuhn is in the World Cup Leaders Jersey and shows why he owns it. I stayed near the iconic stairs and the finish area. I'm glad to share some views of a race that does not get the TV coverage.

This video is my view of the Heusden - Zolder Round of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup 2019-2020. The conditions were dry and fast compared to Namur 4 days earlier. Toon Aerts was in the Leader's Jersey, but suffered 4 fractured ribs in the epic Namur race.
My View of Epic Namur World Cup 2019

Namur 2019 was a cyclocross race that will go down in history due to its extreme mud, tough climbs and descents. Replays of the races are worth seeking out. This is my view from around the course.

Bruges Belfort
Просмотров 2304 года назад
There are a lot of steps to climb in the Bruges Belfort tower. Narrow and steep, but it is worth the effort. This video shows the trip up the stairs and the rooms along the way. The carillon mechanism is fascinating. We were surprised you can't clearly hear the bells a couple of floors higher when it is triggering them. It was a little windy at the top and it was nice to arrive right at sunset.
Making a GPS Route Movie in Google Earth Pro (free features on desktop app)
Просмотров 45 тыс.5 лет назад
I found that there were a lot of tricks to making a GPS route movie. SO MANY that I wanted to share my process. It took a lot of "trial and error" to edit the track and get a usable file to use in Luma Fusion or Final Cut Pro. The resulting Google Earth movie is good for travel video to show a trip or to insert in a picture in picture window to match a driving video. My goal was to make a GPS t...
Nassfeld Pass (Austria - Italy Border) Motorcycle Tour

Crossing the Austria - Italy border at 1500 meters, this was a memorable part of our Germany to Croatia Tour. We had nice roads, the border, goats, and a switchback in a tunnel! "It's a good ride if you see a goat." - Robert Riggins. (i.e. you are not in the city...) Music by Sky Valley Studio except "Joy Ride" by Bad Snacks see: ruclips.net/video/V76dohHXh50/видео.html
Grossglockner Pass Austria - Motorcycle Tour
Просмотров 1785 лет назад
Großglockner Pass is a wonderful classic motorcycle road in Austria. The road is named after the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain. It is a popular destination highway that may actually be enhanced by the toll charged since traffic is limited and includes many other motorcycles. I'm not sure we hit all 36 turns since we went left at the roundabout, but it was a great part of a larger mo...

    Hi, this is exactly what I need to do. Could you send me a copy of your KML file so I can generate it with my own data? Thank You.

      Here is a link to what I think you want. It's been a long time since I did this, so no guarantees. www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/rbjgbnm619e9b8fn85g2t/2019-09-22_08-42-03.kml?rlkey=acaa43od0n92mwsbctrtzlwed&dl=0 I would think you need to do something like I showed in the video, but it may have changed. Comment when you get the file, I won't leave it shared.

    When I try to copy the points there is no selection to "copy as tracks." I imported a route I made in MyRoute app and saved as gpx file. Any thoughts? Thanks!

      It's been a while! I showed the settings for the "Tour" that I used; try different options on that preferences pane. Others have mentioned that newer versions of Google Earth Pro have changed in this area. My version is 7.3.3 perhaps you can find an older copy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Unfortunally, this trick is not working with the last version of Google Earth Pro. There is no longer Copy as a track in Meny.

    Where did you get the GPS file from? How did you record that?

    • @skyvalleystudio4293
      @skyvalleystudio4293 3 года назад

      The GPX file came from one of the rider’s Garmin. I wasn’t recording so that made it possible. There are some apps that can provide the same thing, I believe.

    You should be aware that this Video does NOT use Google Earth, but Google Earth Pro, which you need to download and pay for. Caption or Title is therefore wrong, misleading and inaccurate. Why do you guys do this …… ?

    • @skyvalleystudio4293
      @skyvalleystudio4293 3 года назад

      Well, this complaint is partially true... It is apparently "Google Earth Pro app" in my applications folder, but I NEVER paid for anything for the features I used. I downloaded it a long time ago, so I don't know if available free features have changed or if the Google updater changed its name somehow. I believe this is just the "desktop" name for "Google Earth". I just checked in the app and don't even see where I would need to or CAN pay for anything.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On the download page I currently see: NOTE: Google Earth Pro requires a licence key. If you do not have a key, use your email address and the key GEPFREE to sign in.

    Hi Sky Valley Studio. Well done for going through all the trial and error to bring us this very useful tutorial. It has helped me more than anything else so far to produce a movie from my marine chartplotter data. However when making the movie the recording does not appear to be in real time, so does not match the main movie timeline. I have checked all the settings and cannot find the reason.

    • @skyvalleystudio4293
      @skyvalleystudio4293 4 года назад

      I matched my map video to my source video which was sped up to 4 times real time for this project. In Google Earth, look at the Preferences, Touring. I set "Speed: (multiples of real-time) to 4.0 and it seemed match up well. My GPS data file came from my friend's Garmin GPS track. The .mp4 was correct even though the processing on screen was slower, but my laptop is from 2015.

    • @willsarms3
      @willsarms3 Год назад

      You would have to set the touring speed to "1.0" to match real time. This is located in Tools > Options > Touring > Speed

    Is there a way to make moving speed to be stable? in my trip I had to stop from time to time and I don't want video to stay at one point for a few seconds

    • @skyvalleystudio4293
      @skyvalleystudio4293 4 года назад

      You just delete those stationary points like I did with the points at the beginning and end of my day’s track. I’ve done this a couple of times and I’m mainly looking to produce an animation that matches a moving POV video. So, yes!

    Some nice footage. What setup are you using to film, kind of pole?

    • @skyvalleystudio4293

      Three segments were from an Insta360 One X on its pole; the rest from an iPhone 11 Pro on the 360 camera pole.
