I hate revisiting this track cuz everytime it ends my heart breaks in half.

Do any concept visuals for this zone exist? I'm in love with this game's visuals and after hearing that this is supposed to be Bridge zone's counterpart I desperately want to know what the stage would look like because the song makes me imagine so many beautiful things... God I truly hope this fangame can be finished I've known about this project for 10+ years now and it's always resonated with me so much... even when I was little I knew this fangame was something truly special

I hope people keep this song preserved, the musician has captured the essence of joy in a song.

Sounds like a mechanical Labyrinth Zone

Imagine that there’s a collaborative mod for Sonic Overture '95 of an alternative soundtrack by mixing in the original soundtrack with the revival version.

I can imagine when we entered the zone for the first time, there are some arrows flashing to go forward.

What a good second act song for Sparkling, seriously. Not only is it really good, but doubles down on the funky aspect of act 1, as this could have taken place inside of the casino. Also, I was listening to this with a friend, then he pointed out that at 0:32 and forward (best heard at 0:48), a violin rendition of a Spring Yard Zone melody can be heard on your right ear, and that blew my damn mind. It's little details like that which make me appreciate this soundtrack even more! 💖

Completely defines the first couple of years when I started game dev. I hope to one day produce something that can bring its level of nostalgia.

This is just my opinion on how this game and another fangame, Sonic Legends, could tie together, seeing how they both start on Sunrise Gate. This isn't the games' story but it's my fanmade one using the existing material from Legends. I think that Sonic Legends could be an unofficial sequel to Overture, with Sonic taking Tails, Knuckles & Amy to his birthplace, Christmas Island, on a vacation. This would probably be after Chaotix or Superstars where Eggman fled to the island after his defeat. Sonic and crew soon find out about his plan to mine the source in the island called Fossil and decide to stop his plan. However, Max/Rito (that annoying rabbit) would mess with the team and cause a hole to the Nexus Dimension (i think this is what the game calls it), ripping the Master Emerald out of its shrine and sucking Team Sonic, himself and Eggman inside. Soon, Sonic awakes in Panic City, a large city floating in the sky, well known for its size and population. Sonic notices that he is seperated from his friends and goes off to find them. Tails awakes in Mythrill Mines (from Quantum Collision), an abandoned mineshaft deep underground, filled with water. Amy finds herself in Sapphire Sights (from the Fallen Star), a pleasant forest filled with sun and trees, and Knuckles finds himself in Egg Zeppelin (from Triple Trouble 16-bit), where Eggman is operating his plans inside. Their goals are to regroup with one another and from then, find a way back to Christmas Island, to stop Eggman from mining all the Fossil off of the island. They also need to find the Master Emerald and bring it back to Angel Island. What they don't know is that Eggman is using the little Fossil he extracted to create his most powerful weapon yet, the Egg Exterminator, being able to extract even more Fossil from the island to power itself up and upgrade its machinery. And Max/Rito is still lurking somewhere, with one of the Chaos Emeralds in his possession. The final boss would find all 4 heroes struggling against Eggman, who eventually uses the Egg Exterminator to knock the heroes unconscious. If you don't have all the emeralds by this point and/or fail to beat Max/Rito, this is where the game will end, with Eggman finally defeating the rodents and completing his plan of world domination. With the emeralds however, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy turning into their super forms to defeat Eggman and restore the remaining Fossil to Christmas Island. With that, they enjoy the rest of their vacation with the credits showing small scenes of them exploring Diamond Capital, travelling through Brass Tunnel, and climbing Sunset Peak. Clock Work act 1 with steroids

1:22:33 After the epic final battle, Eggman decides to go somewhere, Sonic returns to Sunrise Gate and sees where Eggman is going, who flew by at that moment, he quickly runs to a mountain to see well, a new horizon to discover, a new island to rescue. Sonic's adventure has just begun.

Sparkling Zone would've been pretty different across its acts, from the information that I could gather at least... Act 1 would've taken place outside of the casino, featuring a dark sunset across the horizon, pyramids and other buildings in the background. Along with light beams, of course. (at least from what I've seen from Sly's concepts and the reference) Act 2 would most likely have taken place INSIDE of the casino. With a background similar to the original Spring Yard prototype background, neon buildings, signs, all that jazz. Act 3 could've have you go across a circus?? Not entirely sure about that, but a circus is located around the Sparkling Resort area in the artwork of Christmas Island from the title screen, and the act 3 track sounds pretty circus-like as well. Most of this is speculation and I could be dead wrong, but it's cool to think of what this zone could've turned into nonetheless!

I still wonder why there are short little remixes of Sparkling (Swing Thing) and Neon (Aterism, Danceclub) in this soundtrack. I really like them, I just find it interesting to ponder on why those were made. Maybe for the credits medley?

I first heard this song when I was sick with a fever on April of 2024. It it hard then, and it still hits hard now. Is it sad that my brain works in a way that things sounded really good at that specific moment, and gets immediately drowned out when that moment is gone, then I begin to think about said moment? lol

You know what I just realized...if the Original Overture Team never had a falling out, the final boss mech that Eggman who be piloting who have a resemblance to the Original Main Villain of Twin Stars, "Thirteen". And in UltraRing's Sonic Legends, the Sunrise Gate Act 2 Boss looks like Thirteen, not Metal Sonic Kai, despite the different colors.

Why isn't this on Spotify? 🙏 This soundtrack has the most perfect video game music I've ever heard.

Never really understood why Brass Tunnel Act 2 and Neon Zone Act 2 shared the same solo (0:40), maybe here it was used as a placeholder? I'm not sure about it either though, 'cuz when it's used in Neon 2 it also cuts off right into a loop. But here it does kinda seems to come out of nowhere for me.

I hear voice samples from "Love Sonic" from the 1994 Sonic Remix CD.

While the new soundtrack isn't bad at all, it doesn't get me bopping my head like this does. You can tell the songs were made to fit those stages, so without them it just feels like background music almost. I know why they couldn't use them, but it's still such a waste.

I know why the soundtrack had to be changed, but man...current one doesn't hit nearly 10% as much as this one does.
