Ted Neeley - Gethsemane - AD Tour 6-6-1993
To my knowledge, this recording is not in wide circulation. Really great performance, as always. NOTE: The recording was a bit sped up when I got it, so I slowed it down. Still doesn't sound 100% correct.
I got the recording from a friend, Khelben of RUclips, who died earlier this year at the age of 24.

Bob Simon as Frank N Furter. Brilliant performance. A lot of the people involved in this production ended up working on the Broadway Revival the following year.

Bill Hicks, Reporting LIVE from Wacco!

Outside the Wacco compound. Got this off of a torrent. Hicks was brilliant, and remains one of the best comedians to grace the stage.

Two comedy greats in the same frickin' room! Explosive. The video is ancient home-video footage, so it's extremely grainy.
Carl Anderson - Superstar - On the Show that Happens Nightly

The late, great Carl Anderson rocking out. We shall not speak of the Big-Chinned Comedian and the Evil Network that keeps pulling these videos down.
Somewhere In the Audience - Eric Woolfson's Poe

Rest in Peace, Eric Woolfson. Steve Balsamo plays Poe in the 2003 Showcase for Eric Woolfson's (Alan Parsons' Project co-founder) musical. Sorry for the quality. I have crappy software for DVD conversion. :P Get the DVD. You'll enjoy it. Trust me.

Ted Neeley GETHSEMANE - Farewell Tour

Ted Neeley, Farewell Tour: Gethsemane. The Farewell Tour is now on its third leg, with rumours of a forth leg in 2009-2010. My account, DrWebFlaxFLOO, was deleted due to the complaints of an asshole rock star named Sebastian Bach, who saw my Rocky Horror vids and turned me in. He's a prick, and I hope his career tanks. He's an awful actor and a terrible human being. All of my videos, including ...
Love him❤ bless him and his family
Ted Neeley, went interviewed with the journalist!
Sempre affascinante
Still my favorite singer along with Carl Anderson who passed away where he last sang this song for before this his retirement show
Still can't believe that's David Arquette of scream fame as Frank N Furter
What a great singer !
The role of Jesus is as difficult and taxing as any operatic role. And Neely leave it on on the stage, never trying to "pace " himself or save his voice for the end of the show. He gives it all, night after night. I guess having done it so many times he knows exactly how to doing it. Those high notes are secure and in place every night. Tremendous stamina. Youd think he would get tired of it, but many people have the same job for 40 years.
When I was a kid David Koresh wanted to call me during the standoff since he couldn't be on the radio. He thought I would make a Great President 2036 WOOD 2036
Thank goodness we can hear what’s being said because the video quality is absolutely horrendous.
This was my very, very old account when I was barely out of high school. The quality of the original video was already horrendous, and uploading to the old RUclips site only compressed it further. Sorry!
@@bartelbyfloats no worries bro. I knew it wasn’t the person who posted it to RUclipss fault the video quality was bad. Anyways, thank you for posting it. Take care!
Probably never had the chance of mentioning this but, that is Hynden Walch (the voice of Teen Titan Starfire and Adventure Time's Princess Bubblegum) as Columbia, right?
Actually, Ted is from Raner, Texas, which is in north central Texas; not west Texas.
Wrong chord at 5:17? 😬 Also, Neeley does the best G5 out of all versions, no contest.
incredible, i thought at this point they had spilt?
Ted is in his early 50s here and his voice is very much in its prime. Very rare for screamers or have his ability at that age
If i could time travel I would go to little spots like this and just soak it in.
which pixel is Ghislaine Maxwell?
Chills...😇
4:46 imagine: "It's your turn to take the garbage out. "WHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY? "Oh don't start that with me!"
When this movie came out in 73 my sister and i went to the movie theater for one week straight too watch it.
He is ordained to play this role in his lifetime.
Shocking that Ted is a believer. He used to sing high notes and now he screams them.
I don’t believe anyone could do what Ted has done for forty years, singing live in front of hundreds of people and still singing it the best as he can. Simply a legend!
I was 13 the first time I saw the movie and it changed my life. Seen the play 27 times by different actors and each time it has touched me deeply
While Ian Gillan set the course for every Jesus to come Ted will always be my favorite because in my opinion he has the most emotion in his voice than other people who have played Jesus
I encourage you to take a look at the Arena Tour with Ben Forster as Jesus! The words I can use to describe his performance is dynamic and passionate. Just as Neely’s performance set the bar for the first 40 years of JCS, it’s much more common to see a production follow in the footsteps of the Arena tour now, setting the show in the modern day with often political undertones
This where they had the idea to do red day/blue day playing Alex Jones??
Where's the rest of your JCS videos?? I remember they were on your old RUclips account.
Is that Leslie Kritzer as Janet?
No her name is Hope something
@@mightymorphinmatt420 ah ok
@@ZacBrzuchalski nevermind i am confusing her with someone else, her name is Lacey Kohl
@@ZacBrzuchalski Hope is the name of the woman who played the usherette, in this production it wasn't the same actress as Magenta. Lacey Kohl played Janet, i love her performance.
@@mightymorphinmatt420 ah ok. Thanks.
As you mentioned, "it doesn't sound 100%." Well, I downloaded the entire recording from this A.D. Tour and it sounds the exact same way as this recording. Very remarkable! Don't you have any more JCS stuff, by the way? I remember there were tons of them on your last RUclips channel.
Wonderful!!!!!!!
Saw JCSUPERSTAR in MICH. But it wasnt the original stars....
Love this guys voice
That would mean your condemned if I don't want the sloppy 2nds which I don't accept at all means your going too be punished for it big time
What a GREAT GUY!!!! Can you IMAGINE playing Jesus night after night?! It would HAVE to deepen your Faith!!!!
Ted is mortal with a great high range. Jeffrey Hunter was an actor, combine both.wow. thanks. Enjoy the journey everyone.
DrFlax, good for you! This idiot is probably just a pathetic failure taking it out on you and maybe others, too.
You have a link with the full audio
Love ya Ted!!
I would love to meet this man before I die...too bad I can't meet Carl Anderson... (R.I.P Carl)
Whether you agree or disagree with the musical , I love this man (Ted Neely's) humble spirit, in a time when many actors like to bash the parts they've played, or don't seem to appreciate them. I do remember, as a Christian where Jesus said in the Gospels, "The prostitutes and the tax collectors enter the kingdom of heaven, before the Pharisees and Saducess." (The latter were the religious priests of the day, most who agreed to crucify Jesus--except for some, like Nicodeumus, who was a high priest and followed Jesus). When I read this (in Matthew, I think?) I was blown away. Jesus was saying this. YES, Jesus hated 1) hypocrisy (called the high priests "vipers and hypocrites" and 2) disrespect for His holy, temple (House of God). God bless you, Ted and your family!!!
he,s the best JCS. Extraordinary voice. i will never hoy tired for hearing him
Ted Neely has portrayed Jesus Christ for over 40 years and has done so with all his heart and soul. I believe his reward will be to meet the One he has portrayed and The Savior's words will be, "Thank you, well done my child".
Love this guy!!
Thanks for the upload Laz. Brings me back to JCSforums
The original vox screamer. Unprecidented, unique, original and outstanding.
saw the movie back in 1974 when i was 10. i find it hard to watch other actors (no matter how talented) playing the roles that the original cast did. The original cast were the perfect fit for the parts that they played and had the right mojo.
I first saw the movie in the theatre in '73. I saw it a few times. Then I had the album, then the dvd. I was lucky enough to see Ted. Neely and Carl Anderson in the live production in Calgary. It was so amazing I got a single ticket for the next night. I worked road construction in the middle of nowhere as a flag person and since there was no one around I had my cassette player stereo and would play the tape and sing/dance to my hearts content. Even so many years later I still know the words to all the songs. Any bit of christian spirituality I have comes from this play...from the performances. I had to sit and watch all of them today again here and sing along. Even at 62 this is the top for me. (Camelot with Richard Harris is second and I saw him live in it as well.) No one will ever give the same goosebumps as the originals.
One of music's underrated vocalist. He is surely up there with the icons and pure vocalist like Joe Cocker, Freddie Mercury, Ann Wilson, Elton John... Musical greatness in this humble man!!
THIS I DID NOT KNOW OF TED .
This should have way more views
Never ceased to amaze me how this play and soundtrack were interpreted.I loved that for the first time in my memory I got to see a different interpretation of the story of Jesus.Rember talking to my mom-a devout catholic and Christian and having great conversations with her about JCS.She didn't like certain aspects of the play or the movie but never condemned it outright. And unlike some people of her generation, she took the time to actually watch the movie
