Roe Deer Mother & Fawn Mutual Grooming 07 07 24

Naturally there is a strong bond between mother and fawn. Mutual grooming reinforces this bond. We see them grooming daily. The twins and mother have not been seen for several days on our property. They are no doubt exploring the wider area and woodlands.

We have known that our two females have had three Fawns between them. All born around the middle of May. This is the best video of our mother and her only Fawn. We see the mother and twins far more, see previous videos. Maize has become a staple for the Fawns lately but they also browse the wild grassed areas and woodland plants. The Fawns now spend longer periods away from the mothers.

After some confusion I have confirmed that these two fawns are twins. There is another mother and fawn that visits less frequent and I did get to see them all together recently which cleared some doubts I had. Having said that there is just a chance there may be two sets of twins!!

Bravo, jolies séries de captures 👍
Je te remercie pour tes bonnes paroles. 😊
She's a sweetheart.i hear that owl?
Hi, I think that is the Wood Pigeons that you are hearing. They live in the tree tops and come down when all is quiet to get their share. Anything for an easy meal! 😊😊

This is so cute, deers are my favourite animal (especially roe deer 🤭)
I love Otters but rarely see one! But the Roe Deer visit us every day and are very relaxed around us! We are indeed fortunate. 😊😊
@@Neville-N that’s so lucky I’ve only ever seen one roe deer in my life and it was when I was 5 and it ran away sadly but I will never forget that moment before it ran away
@@reidbyatt6790 I sure if you get to the right places you will see another. They are widespread in the UK but can be shy. In the meantime check my other videos of the Deer we have on our property. Thankyou for commenting. 😊😊
They always watching. See us before we see them. ML from flooding Florida
@@ilovedeermeme Oh sorry to hear about the floods. Yes they wait here to! I whistle for them and more often the Fawns arrive first. They usually arrive after dawn and leave before dusk. Take care. 😊😊
Magnifique 🤩

Beautiful animals Neville. What are they eating here? 🦌🐇
@@KatieWearing Oh Hi Katie, yes they are although not all our neighbours agree. We put maize down for them as they are very partial to it! But there are not too many other plants in the garden that they haven't sampled. When they are on our land they are safe so we find the maize encourages them here and they relax and rest through the day. In the evening they return to the natural woodlands. The three young fawns born in May are also now eating the maize. Glad you found the video's Katie. Take care ☺ 🙂
Likely rock salt they love salt
It is in fact split maize.

Hungry little one. Great video.
@@SerenadaWildlife Oh yes they can eat! This Fawn is larger than the twins! No competition for mothers milk! We also have fresh water nearby. Many thanks for watching. 😊😊
They come out eating? Your babies so fuzzy while mine has very little hair. Keep us posted Please. ML from Florida
@@ilovedeermeme Thanks for watching. 😊 Yes they eat anything tasty and anywhere! They've become partial to maize unsurprisingly. I film when I can and while they're around. Keep you posted! 😊😊
Soooo cute. Great video.
@@SerenadaWildlife Hi, thanks for watching. I totally agree. 😊😊
Beautiful
Hi, glad you liked the video. One had a limp on its front left leg but nothing too bad. We're keeping a close watch on them. They're now eating the split maize! Take care.😊😊
@@Neville-N I hope they're okay.
No twins yet for me. My Ms Piggy that has twins every yr is MIA so maybe having her's. Thanks n ML from FL
Hi there in Florida. Its great when they have twins but also twice the worry. Ours stay close together but go on walkabouts without mom quite a lot. They're growing at the rate of knots to! 😊😊
Awesome 👌
Pleased you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
Saw my first 2024 fawn too, two weeks ago and I'm in Florida. Thanks
Hello Florida! 👋 Yes, we have the mothers visiting right through their pregnancies! So there is much anticipation when May arrives. Hi from Cumbria. 🖐
Beautiful baby. Great video.
Thank you 😊 Yes we have two babies, both born mid May! Always take my camera with me when going to the compost bin! 😊
SO pretty there. Nice action video.
Yes I was very lucky. They are very approachable!
Nice and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing & big like

What a breathtaking sight! Thank you for capturing the beauty of these young Eider Ducks in Flookburgh, Cumbria.
Your welcome. 😊
Such a cute and curious little one.
Hi, thanks for your comment. You certainly have your hands full in Texas! Yes we love them too here in the UK 😊
Nice and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing so wonderful short film.
Very kind of you to say so. It was my first sighting of a Mediterranean Gull. And quite a character he was watching him for over an hour! Completely outnumbered by hundreds of Black Headed Gulls!
Great! And enjoyable to try and follow your route.
Happy Birthday Sam! Have a bone or two 🦴
