Didn't Ebert love cop and a half? 😅
And Good Burger, which was a correct op ion
hm weird discussion about the movie
How?
Going to give it a watch
I loved Tom Hanks in the Coen Brothers version, I think that's one of his better performances
To each their own!
Bro calling easy rider meh is ridiculous. Bad take period.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ strong case of movies that are influential and have been surpassed by the movies it influenced. See: Blowup
You're totally correct don't listen to the cult, exactly same thing i thought when i saw this ten years ago
What cult?
As SNL once quipped, "It did so much better than the sequel "Dial N for Nurder."

I would agree if Magnolia didn't exist.
The environment has changed but the themes are timeless.
Donnie Walberg's actual breakout performance into acting.
True but what did he follow it up with?
@@neverdiditpod well, he's been acting ever since. Band of Brothers mini series, and He's on Blue Bloods the TV show.
Clearly not up on my Blue Sky TV
@@neverdiditpod Haha. I don't really watch much TV, and I don't follow careers. But I did the Sixth Sense in theatre, have Band of Brothers on DVD and seen a few YT clips with Wahlberg in them from Blue Bloods.
I'm a millennial, and I love that movie... they played it a couple of times a month on Comedy Central for like a decade.
Popping the bubble of cubicle culture. Def like Idiocracy in Judge's comedy style. I always associate it with y2k

Great episode! I really enjoyed it😊
Much appreciated!
Great reviews😊. Bringing Up Baby is one of my favourites of all time. As with all true classics it does improve each time you watch it. So many great lines, comic situations & set-ups. One thing I missed originally is the sexual subtext. Hen-pecked Cary Grant is engaged to a woman who doen't want children, in fact doesn't want a honeymoon or 'domestic entanglements of any kind'. Grant is on a quest to find his 'bone' (manhood) whilst being put through many humiliating situations including crawling on his hands & knees and forced to wear a woman's frilly nighty. And even at the start his fiancee, Ms Swallows (sic), in reference to the placing of a dinosaur bone, alludes to trying 'in the tail' yesterday and it didn't fit😂.
Sort of in this same vein, one of the things we forgot to mention was how Grant calls himself gay sarcastically in a fit of frustration, the first time anyone has used that term to suggest they were homosexual ever in film.
What is the movie with the knight or squire below?
That’s the Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc
1. Beneath the Planet of the APES
1 Barry Lyndon - 2 the deer Hunter - 3 the godfather - 4 Alien - 5 the Omen

Good call. Definitely still holds up, in fact one of the relatively few movies that gets better and more relevant with age. Among my top ten of all time.
I couldn't agree more I think it's a super underrated underappreciated film.
I liked when you guys agreed to put Inspector Gadget at #1 on both of your lists. 1. Eyes Wide Shut 2. Austin Powers 3. The Matrix 4. The Mummy 5. Galaxy Quest
It ironically uses every action movie trope and by doing so it becomes a great action movie. if you completely suspend your disbelief it’s so fucking badass. Great movie. All the punch lines are terrific too
A perfect action movie. IN THIS WORLD, THE BAD GUYS CAN WIN!

Lots of animation, dig it!
The rescuers were the best for me growing up. Hated that the eagle wasn't captured though...I was messed up as a kid 😅
Wait what?! Let it soar!
I love Tremors!!!!! Btw...it was bologna and beans
I agree, not a fan of the first film with Penny, but Down Under is a great movie - the animals were animated so we'll and the boy's connection with the eagle was done very well. The danger is very believable in this film- the villian is very real and not redeemable like the perceived villian in Fox and the Hound. It's like an origin story for Steve Irwin lol - in Austrailia and everything!
And at that time, how many studios were controlled by Jews?
Liberals loved Hitler.
In the late 1930s, most American liberals were strongly opposed to Adolf Hitler and his regime. The rise of fascism in Europe, particularly under Hitler in Germany, was widely condemned by liberal and leftist groups in the United States. These groups were alarmed by Hitler's aggressive expansionism, his persecution of Jews and other minorities, and his authoritarian rule. American liberals generally supported internationalism, democratic values, and human rights, all of which were in direct conflict with Nazi ideology. As Hitler's actions became more widely known, including his invasions of neighboring countries and the increasing oppression of Jews, liberals in the United States became more vocally anti-Nazi. While there were some isolationist sentiments in the United States during this period, particularly among conservatives and some non-interventionists, American liberals largely supported efforts to resist Hitler's aggression, eventually backing U.S. involvement in World War II after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. There were, however, some fringe elements and individuals in the U.S. who were sympathetic to Hitler or who saw him as a bulwark against communism, but these views were not representative of the broader liberal movement.
1. Total Recall 2. Tremors 3. Back to the Future 3 4. Dances with Wolves 5. Predator 2 Also, y’all didn’t talk about 1990s Captain America
TOP 10 BEST MOVIES OF 1990: 1. Goodfellas 2. Miller's Crossing 3. Misery 4. The Grifters 5. Edward Scissorhands 6. The Hunt For Red October 7. Dances With Wolves 8. Ghost 9. Mermaids 10. House Party
The two most divisive filmmakers of New Hollywood were probably Peter Bogdanovich and Brian De Palma because they wanted to make movies in the style of old Hollywood whereas the work of Scorsese and Coppola were influenced by European cinema and that was considered much more progressive.
agree to disagree about this film and Richard Egan....
Please tell me what Richard Egan movie I should watch to be snapped out of my boredom with his work
@@neverdiditpod lol...he's a very low key actor. I like his "non-acting" style. Have you seen Untamed? I love A Summer Place but I guess it's more of a chick flick. What films if his have you seen?
@@rowley555 Low key is kind of understating it. I've only seen this and Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, and I really disliked him in both (though Slaughter was a little more compelling than Voice in the Mirror). I'm going to add Untamed and A Summer Place to the watchlist before writing him off.
@@neverdiditpod lol ....I find him very sexy and I love his voice. Well "chacun son goût." I liked him in Untamed with Tyrone Power and Susan Hayward. Wicked Woman is a B noir....it's a hoot. There's also Love Me Tender which was Elvis' first film. There's Split Second which was Dick Powell's directorial début.
@@neverdiditpod I also like Violent Saturday a lot.
Those first four Bogdanovich films really deserve to be called Polly Platt films. She did the look, he did the actors, but her personal aesthetic dominates. Bogdanovich emerges from her influence with Saint Jack and then makes two great films, Mask and The Cat’s Meow. But everything he does after Saint Jack is interesting.
I’m confused by the end of your comment. Are you saying you think Mask and CM are his best post Saint Jack movies but that you kinda like all of them?
@@neverdiditpod That’s right. Even average Bogdanovich post-Saint Jack is interesting because he finds his voice in this film. Another important question the Bogdanovich oeuvre poses is: Is ‘They All Laughed’ as good as he thought it was, or as mediocre as his colleague Joseph McBride thinks? I have no firm opinion, and go back and forth.
Haven’t seen that one yet, but I can say that all his other comedies are great.
Haven't seen it because it isn't available to watch anywhere :V
It’s available to rent on Amazon, fandango/vudu, and all the other usual places
Don’t y’all think a morb and madme review would do well on the analytics?
