Brass Band Überetsch

Im Jahr 2008 begann die Geschichte der Brass Band Überetsch, am 09. November luden die Musiker rund um Dirigent Hans Finatzer erstmals zum Konzert. Die Begeisterung für die Musik, neue Freundschaften und der Ehrgeiz gemeinsam zu wachsen sind seither die unersättliche Antriebskraft, welche die Entwicklung der Brass Band Überetsch vorantreibt. Durch zahlreiche Workshops mit Dirigenten von Weltruf, durch die Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Solisten, durch den Austausch mit weiteren Brass Bands und der Teilnahme an Wettbewerben ist es gelungen den Klangkörper Brass Band Überetsch immer weiter zu formen.

Die kleine Festmusik für Brassband mit dem Titel EGNO VON EPPAN aus der Feder von Gottfried Veit möchte vor allem mit zwei Elementen in die Zeit des Mittelalters eintauchen. Zum einen hat der Beginn des Hauptthemas der hohen Blechbläser ohne Zweifel „Renaissancecharakter“ und zum anderen wird die Komposition von zwei Rührtrommeln (Landknechtstrommeln), also historischen Schlaginstrumenten, eingeleitet. Fantastic performance! The well controlled, discrete vibrato is great. The very difficult 3. movement is played in a very clear and precise way. This was amazing!
I love the control he has too, every note is absolutely NAILED. The accuracy is so good, and I do like the discrete vibrato a lot as well. I think his clarity even in fast passages really sets him aside from other players. Complete master of his craft

What a brilliant performance! And how stupid were these audiences? Not only they clapped between the movements, but also during the music! They killed the music!
They were so astonished by Glenns performance, that they clapped even if told to please not clap between the movements. In the end we play for the audience and the applause, if they couldn't hold back, they may be stupid, but it can also be seen as a compliment.
A lot of jazz music is killed with that logic... And it takes more than a bit of clapping to kill Mr. Van Looys music!
Look at director face at the end of first movement. He understands those claps. The audience charm is welcome, even when they don't know about the movements

I regret to tell, that the client of this fantastic work, Erich Schmidli has died in 2023, only 69 years old. I was allowed to hear him recite this work wunderfully! Glenn Van Looy continues to play this melody no less gracefully - thank you so much!
