First off, I liked the video/song, but some of the vocalizations (the "incantation") reminded me of Yoko Ono. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I can deal with SOME Yoko Ono stuff. Diamanda Galas may have been influenced a bit by Yoko. I do admire her work, even though I don't have any CDs by her since I've only heard Ms. Galas' work on this channel.

That's prog rock - constantly evolving songs, you never know what you get. The wire-guy is Mike Mills representing the AI TH-1. The Universe live show is a kind of best-of-Ayreon where a few songs from every album were performed (though sometimes shortened due to the time frame). Last year there was another live show (Live Beneath the Waves), and the videos from there are now being released. I'd recommend to check The 6th Extinction live from that show, another gathering of some of the best metal vocalists. I am sure you'll find some familiar faces.

Martin Gore (DMode) covered one of their tunes on his first covers album and it is outstanding. You're always good for breaking out stuff that nobody else touches. Good stuff!

Ayreon is a project of Arjen Lucassen, a Dutch composer, producer, musician and singer. All the albums take place in the same Ayreon Universe and tell a scifi scifi saga through progressive rock/metal music. All musicians and vocalists are asked by Arjen to participate in his musical endeavours. And they all say “yes”! The live shows are very rare cause the artists come from all over the world the world, as do the fans. I was present at once of the 5 show in Sept 2023. There were people from 60 different counties, 19 vocalists and 8 musicians who performed an entire Ayreon album (called “01011001” which is the binary code for the ascii letter Y) plus 3 bonus tracks. Let's be honest, no one can do it quite like Steven Tyler and to expect anyone to do it like that is unrealistic. You do know if you've seen any of what Gabriel Henrique does, he always makes a song his own and that is what makes him stand out. I give him major props for even trying to tackle this song because is not the genre he usually sings.

I always admired the cheek it took to cover Maiden, Queensryche and the like. And being a veteran of a few terrible Bohemian Rhapsody covers, no, it's not enough just to be interesting. Sometimes you have to be good. Not technically, necessarily, but doing justice to the original. That seems to cover this one pretty well. A good listen.

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!
