Sadly, as of 2024, adults can no longer ride the animals on this carousel.
I was 3 years old when this came out.
Happy 83rd birthday Art Garfunkle.
Such a brilliant talented duo. I still love them!
Doesn't living by a river mean more mosquitos?
🌈🏞️
Much prefer him singing this than Paul
I'm 80 remember it all. So thankful I am an American. So sorrowful what America has begun. We need to make sure that the young, today's young, can have a magical experience, that I HAD. Toby Keith so dead at a young age; our young are dying, struggling. So sorrowful to watch.
I love Artie and always have. Paul not so much. Artie is a handso 10:52 10:54 handsomest man
If paul didnt want art to be successful then he shouldnt have written for him, simples!!!!
My grandparents took me there one time many years ago and it was just a beautiful old house. Nothing scary or evil.
What is this from?
Simon and Garfunkel are like the colors blue and gold. Which is the better color? That's a silly question. Put blue and gold together and they greatly enhance each other. Paul was a great writer but his solo albums were hit and miss. Yes, he wrote Graceland (leaning HEAVILY on the music of the South African musicians!) But he also wrote One Trick Pony and CapeMan, two truly awful albums. Artie had the epic Angel Clare, then some good but not great albums, although I really enjoyed Scissors Cut and Everything Waits to be Noticed. But The Simon and Garfunkel years were the best. I admire both immensely and anyone who says one is more gifted than the other is being juvenile.
Singing with feeling and touching hearts. The song is evergreen and takes me back to my childhood.
😂
The two of them were like a drug that drove everybody crazy and over to another place in the universe you forgot everything nothing mattered but the people you were with listening and participating in their music and we made it our own we laughed and cried had kids inbetween married or not it didnt matter anymore as long as we had the music to sing along with to give our lives meaning and all the musicians and singers they did that they all became part of a huge world wide family we belonged to something great even though we didnt realise it at the time what an era wouldntv missed it for the world and now that most of us are in our early eighties81+ all of us were born around the same time and boy did we rock around the clock ( by Bill Haily ) and the rock and roll band and after that lots of black artists they taught us how to move and ELVIS offcourse well none of us ever looked back after that thats all otherwise I’ll keep going when i pass i want the sound of silence played and bridge over troubled waters thats all thankyou all so much for bringing back all these wonderful memories thankyou peace and love to all ❤☮️💟☸️🕉️🛐🌈🌈☔️☔️😍👋👏🌻🌺🌸🌼🌹🙏🙏🌏🇦🇺🇲🇨🇺🇦☮️💟🌹🙏🙏
Now I play The Boxer, usually on way to work. It gives me the kicks, I don’t know why
Thank-you Art for adding so much to all of our lives. It's been a journey.
☮️💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟
Artie is and has been the most handsome man with a beautiful voice. He has it all..
I first saw this guy on the Pat Sajak show in about '89 and I was mesmerized!
Paul was being very honest here - I sat first row center for two Simon and Garfunkel concerts in October 1993 - and Paul would leave the stage when Artie sang BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER - at the songs end there was thunderous applause - and as Paul walked from the shadows back onto the stage i could see he was not happy - he was jealous of the response Artie was receiving - years later I saw them again but this time Artie would sing a section by himself and Paul would sing a section by himself and actually i really loved it because Paul added some soulful twists to his singing that worked incredibly well.
The snarkiness of this song always bothered me. The nasty lyrics seem completely at odds with the pleasant feel. I later read that Paul Simon said the song was more a commentary on the narrator than the unnamed town. OK Paul, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I can understand living there and feeling like it's unbearably dull, but you can also be miserable in the heart of the trendiest place on Earth. The effect of any setting on a given individual is very complex.
I've passed the Beech Nut site hundreds of times, and (for whatever reason) I decided to Google it, and learn what it's all about. Thanks for posting this.
I was wondering if the frame work was still standing, looks like its long gone, sad
Paul is all the talent.
I'd agree with you but then we'd BOTH be morons. Think before you comment.
"It's a very special period when you are working together and you agree the two ideas, the two people's ideas are better than one. It's special. It lasts for a certain period of time than it goes away." Paul Simon That's it, that's what paramount. You gave us the loveliest fruits to enjoy, that special "new life" that is born and generates from the creative, intellectual and emotional, affectionate, human union of two different indviduals. The power, harmony, beauty and life attained by this loving effort is what we all long for and strive to achieve in life. We will always be listening in awe to your music and unique singing together, thankful for this gift you gave us💚🤍
Well if we ever lose paul at least we've got a spare
Timeless simply Timeless!! 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
It always saddened me that Simon and Garfunkel was so much more than Simon or Garfunkel and neither of them could accept that.
I have never seen Garfunkle play a guitar.
Bon anniversaire Art Garfunkel 🎂🍾🥂💋❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵
The background music alone gives me chills, great memories of JD and this film..........
Un hombre bello con una voz bella.
Hermosa voces, hermosa música y qué guapo era Garfunkel.
I got this all on v h s tape cool 1
Former deckhand 1979 Mississippi Queen.
garfunkel et son fils se ressemblent beaucoup.
Paul doesn't like Art's popularity...but Paul writes everything, so , any success Art gets is really Paul...Paul says whatever the salt on the wound may be/have been, it was 'childish', an abrasive last part of teenage/20 something competitive angst...
3:43 why is Paul talking about Paul????? Edit: *Fuck I didn't know he has a brother that looks like his younger self omg* Damn here I am, big fan of their music but not knowing THAT
leaving the Beach boys to play with his father and Brian Wilson is awesome he alone is awesome

One of my favorite quotes; Nick Cave said it? "You don't *create* music, you *find* music. The music is already out there, the trick is to find it before Paul Simon does."
It took me 4 minutes (despite the onscreen titles explicitly stating so) to realize that Paul and Eddie Simon are two different people.
SAME, I bought it up to the point of him talking about Paul in third person. I didn't even know he had a brother although I love S&G music 👀
Story I heard was that it was a pass for slaves on the Under Ground RR. It caught fire and they were trapped and burned to death.
This is the time and era when houses were really built to last a long time,,and ,,my aunt had inherited a historic house built in the 1800,s and it was beautiful ,,my brother and I and my sister would spend slot of time in her old house it was southern plantation style and we loved it ,,later it was torn down for a housing Trac ,,ha I hated that ,,we all cried ,, old historic houses have lots of stories to tell and are awesome
