There's modern bboy now out on youtube and social media and it's all good. But I bet the OGs would sell their shit to fly in and see this live. This is golden.
You couldnt be more wrong. James brown said smashed potatoe, alligator in the same line once. Also its a mans world was said very coherently if i may add. NEVER DOWNPLAY THE GODFATHER OF SOUL FUNK!!!
Mind you, the person you are rreferrin to as "whack" helped originate and spread the style of threading. Show some respect to someone that put in work. Unless you got some moves and can throw down better than Megus keep your comments to yaself. This aint a spectator sport. Its a fuckin artform. If u TRULY appreciate this dance and its culture, learn some respect.
WHATTTTTTTT !!!!????? Sonny boy, his name is Megus. Google it. He's a fucking legend. If Toronto read that sentence you'd probably never make it home in one piece.
As much as I love Crumbs, K-mel just has that East Coast B-Boy swagger that shows in his uprock to his downrock, and I just gotta give him respect for that.
Vengeance really doesn't do it for me :/ dunno what it is but for me Crumbs and K-Mel killed it, Remind was pretty sick but like Vengeance i dunno i just dont think he killed it, Vengeance choked in his second round which is a little disappointing but a good battle none the less :)
@CommonGroundArts Yeah, you're totally right, I was talking more about an electrofunk song getting played in a bboy battle, and I've got nothing against the music (it's some classic stuff), but it's just better suited to a popping battle. I don't think any experienced DJs now would play that for bboys.
The DJ sure dates this battle (if the VHS doesn't). If you tried to start a bboy battle with that song today, you'd might get some laughs, but I doubt anyone would run to the floor. The bboys were dope though. Crumbs and Kmel have really evolved since then, and still rock hard. I'd love to see this rematch today.
@FCAopium well said. SEC was tight but BBs were total package. Vengeance alone won footwork/uprocks and anytime SEC did something dope Kmel did something doper.
Wow at 3:20,, i could c where hong 10 got some of his moves. I see alot of abtract style dude's doing some of vengence stuff, also cavemans trick power u see alot of bboyz doing now. If it werent for these guyz, the styles and tricks u see korea and france doing today, wouldnt be here.
Style Elements got robbed hardcore. One of the greatests crews in the world just about twice as old as Boogie Brats. SEC or Rock Force go down to be the greatest championship crew of all-time. RSC are just the Yankees of the game. This stuff goes pretty N2Deep. You new school guys better look into it. But don't say some random internet blogger didnt tell you guys the truth, and you newer guys gotta stop naming yourself Spidey. BBoy Spidey was the Jordan of the Game before he got shot.
Man, watching this makes me appreciate how much b-boying has evolved in the recent years. Also, ReMind is kinda short. Like, I think most b-boys are under 6'. I met him in Spokane a whiiiile ago. He's a great dancer and a real inspiration.
i honestly would say that style elements should've won this one..i think vengence wasn't hard enough to keep up with remind but kmel and crumbs were pretty much even..but i think crumbs moves were a lil more creative
sick! CRUMBS his airflare stop hollow...NASTY. His gainer to front suicide I've seen before. Miracles does that. Crazy...everything is just a recycle of older moves.
In 2024 , still one of the best battles
Crumbs is wild
If only it was 1999 version of Megas…..
He's sufficiently amazing here
And 1999 megas vs 2001 megas would not have made a difference in the finals. Ruen's power was ahead of it's time and it won the event.
There's modern bboy now out on youtube and social media and it's all good. But I bet the OGs would sell their shit to fly in and see this live. This is golden.
Remind is trash
they used some dope bboy songs. ik, this was fro, 2006.
maybe a legend but that doesn't mean he was good. After all, James Brown was a legend and nobody understood a fucking word he said.

Does anybody know the name of k-mels signature move (the one that he does with the gliding legs, like a forward moonwalk)
K mel had a wack partner. shoulda teamed up with machine
Megas chanhed the game for ever with his foot work guy dident meed any fancey shit to destroy in battles he only needed hia origami style
Crumbs is sick..........
@seymourglass26 BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

@seymourglass26 this wasn't THAT long ago ... the song was already old as fuck during this battle.
@funkrocus LOL ur a donk--eeeeeeee !!!

Whats the song?
What's the song that starts when they begin? I've heard it from a movie called Beat Street....
Arthur Baker - Breakers Revenge
Donnie's combos killed this!
@BboyArpeggios You forgot Japan. Lot of their art of bboying is very similar to Remind.

lol this battle goes down in history as the most debated outcome...i remember i was mega pissed when SEC didn't take it but oh well...
i think crumbs did the best
how long ago is this?
fuckin lub the dope atmosphere
nothins wrong just wasn't feelin it as much as boogie brats
What's wrong with their tops? them shits got flavor.. a lot better than what most cats now do, with the exception of machine, ynot, mathias, etc..
physicx inspired by crumbs
this is when bboying was at it peek

i honestly would say that style elements should've won this one..i think vengence wasn't hard enough to keep up with remind but kmel and crumbs were pretty much even..but i think crumbs moves were a lil more creative
this footage is from 2001, casper was probably way young and still in training I think.
haha! word! :D
sick! CRUMBS his airflare stop hollow...NASTY. His gainer to front suicide I've seen before. Miracles does that. Crazy...everything is just a recycle of older moves.
