In whuppit you mean? Yeah...I recently expanded the grading companies options in the app (including SGC) so you can break out by grading company for submissions, cards, etc. I'm going to look and see what the API situation looks like for them. PSA's API unfortunately isn't robust enough to add the kind of functionality (auto-syncing/updating orders, etc) that I would love to do. Hopefully SGC's is.

Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately I had to turn the PSA functionality off, at least temporarily. Their API was very flakey and was causing some serious performance issues. On top of that, they decided to start charging (at my threshold it would have been $1,000 a year). Given the intermittent reliability, poor performance and cost, I decided to turn it off for now. I did reach out to them about some improvements. I would like the API to be a bit more useful-instead of just pulling in an order ID and the order status, I would LOVE to auto-populate grading fees and grading results. Sounds like that's something maybe on their radar, but it doesn't exist yet.

Yeah...so that's just a term I personally use for "this card is so very clearly a 10 there's no way it gets anything else". I'm very picky in my pre-grade assessment, but every once in a while (typically canvas cards or paper cards with white corners) cards are SO clean that there's just no doubt in my mind at all that it's a gem. I like to try to typically put those at the end of an order because my theory (purely theory..not proven) is if you see a flawless card, any blemish on the next one will likely jump out more.

Good question! I've got some regular saved searches that I'm always buying on. Outside of that, I've been buying a lot of women's college basketball still, pretty consolidated around Fulwiley, JuJu Watkins, Hannah Hidalgo and to a lesser extent Paige Bueckers. I'd love to get some of the WNBA select stuff, and I do have some, but the initial price points for raw are still too high for me to feel very comfortable. For NBA, I've got a fair share of Phoenix going out to get graded (usually suspects...Wemby, Ant-Man, LeBron, Giannis, Doncic, Shai, but also some Whitmore, Brandon Miller, GG)-far from a high end release but very clean cards and I did well targeting that set in football. Not really buying any football...more than any other sport I feel like that one is really risky in-season. Will be letting the dust settle on MLB too, but I'm watching the Cosmic Chrome stuff pretty closely-that's another set that graded very well last year and I did well on. ​@@Teddy_J Thanks! My bias is BIN or best offer because I have a lot more control over the margins, but auction vs BIN comes down to two things for me. 1) How badly do I want the cash flow? If I need a bump, or really want to move quickly so I can put it into something else, I'll auction. 2) How hot is the card/player? If it's a player that's super hot, a card that is a new release so it's one of the first few to be graded, etc, I'll probably auction. With a hot player, you'll often get more on the auctions, and with a new release, you want to get it out the door quick before prices fall (I've messed that one up a lot)

Oh yeah...she'll have sustained value for sure. I do think it's likely that her 2023 collegiate stuff will dip in value with all the Fever card releases, but have zero doubt her 2022 stuff will stay pretty strong. I also think Paige (and JuJu, Fulwiley, Hidalgo, etc...that whole wave) is only going to amplify the attention on the sport. Rising tide lifts all ships kinda thing.

Definitely on the same page. 2022 Bowman stuff should hold, the other college stuff is more questionable. I didn't cover the Fever cards, but agree...the Draft Night has a really strong shot at being her "iconic" rookie I think, given the popularity of it, the photo, and the fact that all the actual 2024 releases are coming out after her season already ended. I don't really do much of the Panini Instant stuff at all, but I do regret not scooping up piles of those.

Great for collector's though man. Like...the fact that you can build up a PC of (arguably) the greatest QB, the greatest WR and the greatest RB (Barry) of all-time for as cheap as you can is pretty darn silly.

Been thinking about this! It's a great question. You could do it with less tbh, but the number I keep coming back to is a $1,000 initial starting point. Gives you room for grabbing cards you may deem not grade-able while still putting together enough for a sub. A lot of it comes down to picking decent cards and being patient enough to move things and let it snowball gradually.

@@collector_chick1379 Definitely more BIN. I'll do auctions if I want a quick influx of cash flow and that's more important at the moment than the actual profit margin, or if a player/card is particularly hot (Caitlin Clark the last few months was a great example-auctions routinely went higher than BIN). Auctions are just a lot less predictable and if you're not careful, can really crush your margins in my experience.

I have sold them on eBay before, but mostly prefer to do COMC nowadays. It's just less to deal with. I ship them off in bulk, have COMC do all the listing work and shipping, and all I have to do is set pricing. That said, I do still post some on eBay, typically if they're still in that early release hype phase or the card/player is super hot and I want to move them again quickly before that wears off.

Caitlin's market was on fire. I checked comps, and auctions were consistently going for higher than BIN, often by quite a bit. You'll see that happen sometimes a player's market gets hot and sellers haven't caught up yet. For other cards, just depends on how badly I want the cash flow right now to put into something else, versus potentially sitting on them longer. Mostly a gut call.

Good question! Answer depends on the card. If it's hot enough, or I really just want to get the cash flow, I'll stagger some auctions and have one start every couple of days or so. I do try to end them on Sat/Sun/Mon though as the data I've seen shows that those are the best times to end auctions, unless you happen to be able to end it on a game night, etc. If it's not a hot card, I....just kinda sit on them until I can sell them? I sometimes go lower on the first card, because since I do the multiple quantity thing (still gotta do a vid on that) the next ones tend to move pretty quick so sacrificing some profit on the first one can be helpful to get them all moving.

I think I'll likely be more picky about what Bowman stuff I pick up. My guess is here 2022 Bowman stuff-her Bowman 1st, some of the more rare inserts-will hold good value and I do plan on going after that stuff still, but the 2023 stuff and some of the fairly common inserts are likely to drop off and I'll probably wait to see where they land. Will definitely be going fairly aggressively after her Fever cards though. The only downside is that all the releases are coming after the season ended, so it probably limits the immediate upside a little bit. Though her fans are hungry, so at least the first few releases will likely be very, very popular.

Roller lines are _fairly_ consistent...definitely gem more than I don't on those. Print lines are a bit more maddening IMO as that's a virtual coin flip.

Oh good question! I don't pay extra, at least not directly. What I have been doing lately is mixing a couple submissions into the same package. Doing that seems to get the cards processed a lot quicker-it's a tip I heard from someone else at one point and it's held true in my experience.

did you put the barcode on the outside of the package? if you don't do that it slows down the order by months.

@@hollywood_crue its possible that they might have an issue IDing one or more of your cards. i would send a note to customer service if you're close to your estimated completion date.

eBay for most things /str/everycardastory. I'm curious about trying selling socially outside of eBay, but haven't really dipped my toes into it yet.

My last few orders have been either one extreme or the other. I've had some really great gem rates, like this one, but they've been sandwiched around two of my worst orders ever.

I can't for sure. I would imagine they're grading in the order of the submission...they're pretty particular about making sure your cards are stacked in an order that matches the order form-and for unique cards, I can definitely see the order matches what I sent them in at. But always possible they're shuffling around the duplicates in some way.

Though I also did think it would just be really interesting to take a bunch of cards I pre-graded as 10's from different orders and re-send them as one submission. Probably super dumb, but would be a fun experiment.

Ouch. FWIW, I have never seen an order get remotely close to the estimated completion date-PSA puts that thing so far in the future it's mostly useless in my experience. Hope it comes back soon!

@@everycardastory Now PSA has backlogs in prep and assembly. Grading stage takes 2-5 days on average for specials

Her cards are in a huge bubble that should burst when WNBA Origins comes out in October and WNBA Prizm comes out in November.

This is a SUPER solid point. I talked about this in another video, but right now, the supply is VERY low compared to demand...her supply to demand ratio is much, much stronger than just about every other "hot" target in the hobby right now-Stroud, Wemby, Elly...only Skenes is in the same ballpark. Panini, of course, is gonna flood the market with lots of stuff in her Fever jersey and I suspect we'll see a lot of this change. I do think some of her 2022 Bowman stuff will maintain value, but some of the inserts, or the 2023 stuff seems more likely to dip.

That's fair...definitely a different pace/game than the NBA. I think the game is going to evolve quite a bit here in the next couple of season with her and then Bueckers, Fulwiley, JuJu Watkins, etc right behind her. There's a lot of incredible talent about to hit, and the playing style is going to adjust. I'm a big basketball buff, and a basketball history nut, so I have a ton of appreciation for what she's doing for the game right now. As a result, she's one of my absolute favorite players to grab right now in the hobby.

@@everycardastory Honestly, the back court play is fine but boy oh boy the paint play is extremely tough to watch IMO.

Mostly just following convention. Seems like personal preference is very much divided on this-was just watching a reveal the other day where the revealer was getting a bunch of angry comments about him not covering the grades. 🤷‍♂ Anyway, in my latest couple I've stopped doing it and probably will continue to not cover going forward. I think.
