That’s very nice playing
I got carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist just listening to this😂
Never heard this one before, good tune! It's a real earworm.
Its a lovely tune, i think its a tune by vincent broderick
Power tune!!
Definitely power tune
I know the first tune as Tom Billy's….😀
Thanks for all comments
awesome. thanks barry
Barry, im very curious as to how long it gerenerally take you to learn a tune such as this and retain it to long term memory. Hours days weeks?im in the weeks catagory. For tunes with 3 or more parts well...
Thanks so much. Your playing of the tune is lovely. Next time breaking down some of the chords you play would be very helpful.
"Loads of mistakes". 😅 I think I heard one tiny glitch . Maybe. And the rhythm is perfect, the most important part.
Thanks. Great instructional as well.
Thanks a million on kind remarks all....trigger i like your videos too,
Love your vids mate.
Thankyou very much for comment, much appreciated
Very useful! Thank you very much!
Great stuff what’s the name of the jig you played demonstrating the double octaves?
very enlightening
Great playing! What make of concertina is that?
Useful - there's a surprising lack of decent RUclips tutorials on Irish concertina ornamentation.
Thanks for sharing Barry I’m finding this really helpful 😊
Delighted, do look up other players etc, its only my perspective and im not a concertina teacher at all
You and that concertina went into near earth orbit on that second reel.
Your very kind as always, much appreciated, hope your keeping well
One of my favourite reels on the concertina. Thank you so much for your accurate explanations on ornamentation!
Your very welcome, hope its useful
Well done Barry
I love your music and videos. Great tune versions, your personal style is wonderful. Keep posting!
Your very kind, thankyou very much...
I agree. Great stuff…
thanks for the very helpful comments.
Thanks Barry - very helpful agein
Am glad, again im not a concertina teacher - but have been playing for years -
Im not a concertina teacher nor even close, but this is just some perspectives that im sharing and i enjoy putting up tunes on internet
All the variations on moving cloud so good. Im not familiar with second tune.
Thankyou for comment, hope u well
Musical mastermind 🙌🏼
Thanks, Barry. I just started learning this tune a few weeks ago.
Great stuff, susan, hope you are well..
Mirror?
Can you slow down a wee bit lad? And show we're your fingers are on bother sides, that would be helpful
Brilliant. I really want to become a great player 😁 this is really helping! ❤ also is there any way theres the notes with all the orientations in it and I could find it somewhere? Thanks
I wish you the best of luck, i learned by ear and ornamentation is personal taste and developed over lifetime...but some examples would be double octave playing and grace notes etc. Best of luck
@@barryconcertina1484 thank you!
I Liked it, but the number didn't go up. I think the bottom word on your T-shirt is "morons".
Ha ha, you are right about bottom word on my t shirt, thankyou for comment
Again, thanks for another great advanced concertina lesson. For free. What a deal!!😊
You are very welcome,
"It'll keep you busy forever".😅
I love the tune and your version is very uplifting. From Galway.
Thankyou very much for kind comment, very much appreciated
Cant get enough of this tune. I was playing your version of it this key on my C/G and its very nice, but the first tune doesnt work that well. So now A mile from Dublin in D, and Fraziers in G. (at about 80% of your speed) lol😊
Fair play to you, im only playing them regularly in terms of key but on the bflat f concertina, you must have good dexterity
Nice!
Thankyou for comment, appreciated
Lovely Barry you lift my heart
Good to see you being social, Barry😊
Was privilige to be asked
On the left hand, do you pull the d f# a arpeggio, or push (g row) d, then pull f#…a? Or use the push a on the accidental row? I tend to use what is handy…but (for instance) i notice you only grab the g row f# on the rh and do most of the work on the c row rh.
Very interesting question...always depends on the tune, generally speaking on left hand side i use the high d notes, high d and e on left hand side, for most tunes......the low D i normally use on left hand side draw, but sometimes use the low D on the push as well.....the G, i use the three of them on the left hand side and As too, i.e i use G on the press on the left hand side but also use on the pull on the left hand side. I have only F# on the draw on the left hand side so if using DF#A, harmonic chord, will always pull or Draw on the left hand side.....i think essence is know concertina fingerboard or note lay out very well and be able to interchange fingering or notes structure depending on tune
@@barryconcertina1484thanks. That all sounds about right. I've got a 32 key Lachenal (a late one..so it's a bit of a dog tbh) and the extra lh key is f#c#, which is nice. I repair accordions and 'tinas (see jollyrogeraccordions.co.uk) and have self taught the Anglo. But being a Brit I don't have that innate sense of rhythm that you guys have (English folk tunes are all a bit foresquare and stompy). I can't get it on a button box. I can mostly get it on a Mando. I can get it on a piano accordion (but not always the bloody fingering), and I can get it on the 'tina. But I always have to return to genuine Irish musicians to remind myself of how it should be done (and I play with a ceilidh band where we have someone who can unlock those magical rhythms ). Anyway, thanks for the reply and grear vids. The Killavil is one of my fave jigs
Beautiful tune, thanks for the extra info, will give this one a go today
Wow!
Thankyou
That’s the stuff
Thankyou
🔥🔥🔥 Always pleasant to listen Barry!
Thankyou very much
Be great if you broke the embellishments down for us beginners
Will try and do a general video on ornamentation and embellishments certainly
Your videos are very good. I enjoy them very much 🎶
Thankyou very much again, music is a life long learning project
Lovely job 👍🏼
Nice one B
Hey Pad, how are things, hope you flying on fiddle as always...
Yes I like
