On the subject of space between notes.i think this aspect thats integral to the sound of the concertina is usually overlooked. Have you ever tried a really good high end hook and lever action Lachenal? Slower a bit but the empty space spund between notes is built in. Plus nice big buttons...
Yes i love space between notes idea again at a workshop player teaching talked about sound waves and how tunes have their own waves and space between notes, thankyou for all comments and observations on channel
Fabulous. You really relax and are warmed up in the final up tempo version. I've a ways to go.
Unreal! How long have you been an anglo 'Tina player?
A long long time, since i was kid...so many many many years...like many many years in a distant galaxy...😅😅
Felices fiestas amigo ❤
Thankyou..all the best to you
Merry X-mas to all ! Nice tune!
Thankyou, hope all great with ye
Happy Christmas! I must learn this tune! Hup!
Bravo and thanks for this - enjoyed it on my Christmas morning
Class Barry good man
Thankyou for kind comment
Step
Merry Christmas and thank you. I’m just learning to play the concertina. Hopeful that someday I’ll be able to play a tune in real time 😂.
Now those are some mighty merry tunes. Have a wonderful Christmas, Barry!
Hi Barry! I just got my concertina recently and I was wondering how to use chords in Irish tunes. What are the common chords? I watched your performance video and it was really great! Thank you very much!❤❤❤
Depends on irish tune and keys, like in D tunes, DF#A, or DA can be used as modified D harmony...you can use double octave playing as well.....best of luck
@@barryconcertina1484 Thank you for your answer!
So Barry, how many cups of coffee do you have to gulp down to play that fast?😊
Too many coffees, hey happy christmas..i appreciate all your comments
I know you are modest about your playing mate, but you are pretty good.
Thankyou for kind comment, its a very much a pet project that opened up since covid for myself...so.am delighted if anybody gets value from same....
Thankyou for comment, happy christmas to your good self
Great lesson, Barry. Enjoying this quirky little tune and it fits nice on the tina.
Excellent
Thankyou for kind comments
Vincent Broderick tune. Nicely played.
Great stuff! ☘️
Thankyou for comment, lovely tune
What a lovely instrument
.....❤
What key are you playing /fingering in? Bb or F or C?
Im just using regular fingering...the concertina is a bflat/f concertina, im using standard G key but just playing on bflat instrument
😊....❤
Well done on that jig. What make is your concertina and what system is it?
Thankyou for comment, its a jeffries and anglo c/g
Barry you have all the tunes!
Appreciate the comment...hope its a good resource for you
You are such an inspiration for Irish style concertina players all over the world. WE are grateful.
Thankyou rattyfingers..totally appreciate all your comments
Keep it up!!
Definitely, thankyou
Well deserved Barry. You've a great skill in the way you share the tunes.
Thankyou, tommy, hope you are well and playing music away.......
Bravo!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thankyou for comment
Yeaahhh....!!!....❤
Thankyou
thanks for doing this tune and explaining the embellishments.
Very welcome, its only my take on embellishments
@@barryconcertina1484 i know but it's still useful. i put most of my effort into playing the melody rapidly and throw in the occasional grace note, etc., when I can. i always like listening to your recordings and learning a little bit.
Great..
Only came across yr channel now its brilliant loads of great tunes to play along with
Thankyou, started channel during covid, i love your banjo video
If it makes your foot move, you know its good 😊
Thankyou for comments and support...😊
We are laughing on the inside
It sounds great but why aren't you guys having more fun playing? It looks like a chore instead of the fun song it is.... 😢
Its concentration, 😂😂, and we are joyous on the inside
Absolutely loved it
✌❤👍
Wonderful, these tips go a long way! It also seems like your expanding your bellows while your playing? I have seen adjusting the adjusting the bellows inwards but not the other way around. Is there anywhere where you describe this technique? Also you ever get a chance and do Spórt itd be lovely. Thank you!
This is why bodhran players are hated at sessions
😂😂
That’s very nice playing
I got carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist just listening to this😂
Never heard this one before, good tune! It's a real earworm.
Its a lovely tune, i think its a tune by vincent broderick
Power tune!!
Definitely power tune
I know the first tune as Tom Billy's….😀
Thanks for all comments
awesome. thanks barry
Barry, im very curious as to how long it gerenerally take you to learn a tune such as this and retain it to long term memory. Hours days weeks?im in the weeks catagory. For tunes with 3 or more parts well...
Thanks so much. Your playing of the tune is lovely. Next time breaking down some of the chords you play would be very helpful.
"Loads of mistakes". 😅 I think I heard one tiny glitch . Maybe. And the rhythm is perfect, the most important part.
