I started this channel years ago to sing and play guitar back when I could. Since then, I focus more on modeling since I’ve gotten back into it after a long hiatus. Thanks for subbing, I sub back. Salty Army is Legion 🧂

Due to misplaced decals, I had to remove them to replace them because it looked like hell so here we go. First step, remove the terribly placed decals and prep the surface for new, all while the rest of the decals were in place. Wish me luck.

Got a couple of decals on successfully so I decided to film putting a big one on. Probably not the best decision I made today.

Legitimate question on which way to put decals on the underside of the hood. Thanks for your comments.
Repainting the repainted 24 Car again

This video shows how to mask and paint the red on the rear of the 24 car, again. Trying to get it to cover the blue before applying decals.
Repainting the repaint of the the repaint, yeah I suck at this.

Unmasking the fluorescent red after spraying the metallic blue on. Came out mostly good. Way better than the first try.

After masking all the fluorescent red and underbody, I sprayed the second coat of metallic blue. Next, unmasking, stand by and drill baby drill.
Pssst. Got 16 seconds? Here’s the scoop.

I like your channel can I swap shop cards with you
@@douglasmodelgaragesvideo Thank you. I don’t have a shop card, sorry.
Looking good, you are very brave ,I do NASCAR kits too,but I don't video the decal part
She looks good!!! Always loved the Lumina
Looking good
By the way Paul, @plasticmonkey5594, I used my wife’s hair dryer on it after I was done filming and it worked beautifully! Thank you! PS, she was not happy when I left her hair dryer out (which she rarely uses). Note to self, put her hair dryer away when done softening your decals.
Lol Scotty. Must remember to put things back.
Shes lookking good. The old monogram decals can be hard to work with. God bless that micro sol stuff! Dont know what it is but i swear by it!
Hi Scotty looking good. If I get stubborn decals I usually get the hair dryer on them it pulls them rigth in tight
Put them where you can read them as if the hood is open, I'm thinking.👍👍
Instructions show them upside down. When you open the hood, you should read them properly.
I think put them on so that they're right side up when the hood is open (so opposite the directions). If you do a Google image search for NASCAR hood up you can see several examples with the hoods up, either on display or in the midst of a wreck, and you can see that the logos are not upside down when the hood is open. I think someone just wasn't paying attention when laying out the instructions diagrams. Wouldn't be the first time instructions have been wrong, lol!
👍🏻
Check out the video following this one which is the full length version of what the previous iMovie was comprised of.

Just found your channel. I gave you a sub. Thanks

Great model 👌 👍 Glad l was there
KkOoL 👍🏻👍🏻
Would love to know what happened never seen that reaction before. By the way love your boxer .Ihave had 2 boxers in my life there great dogs and miss them both.
What primer did you use?
@@DuTcHsCaLeMoDeLs Mr Surfacer 1500 White. Yesterday I stripped it clean to start over. Will use Gray Mr Surfacer 1500 to tone the red down a bit. I think I put the Tamiya metallic blue on thinned too much with too many coats too quickly. I will be careful thinning it this time and let it dry more between coats. I also will put the red on first this time and mask it instead of the blue. Wish me luck and thanks for asking!
@@scottyshipbuilder that’s good quality primer. This is strange.
Looking good Dutch here new sub#60 👍🏻
Thats not good . I personally wouldn't use any oils. I think i would wet and dry carefully. But i may be totally wrong.
Thanks for looking Paul. I thought maybe you might have possibly experienced this problem before. Somebody knows what I did wrong. What exactly is wet and dry? Sanding perhaps? Thanks.
@scottyshipbuilder yes it's sanding with fine paper. Never seen the problem with tamiya masking tape before.
I wouldn't use any oils at all when painting. I what I usually do is when I paint a layer that I want to preserve, I put a clear coat over that layer of paint, then taping won't destroy or lift that layer of paint off. Specially if your doing several layers or colors of paint
Looking good! Been a long while since ive done a jeff Gordon build. Looking forward to seeing this one!!!
Coming along nicely
Thanks Paul.
Time to paint the exterior of the body now. Give me some guidance on how to paint the metallic blue and fluorescent red if you would please. I have my own ideas but want to hear how you guys would do it. Thanks.
I love the old nascar kits, but lot of mine have that wobble too, sometimes putting the body on fixes it, sometimes. Thats a good looking roll cage!!!
Thanks Chris!
Hi Scotty, I remember you saying in your last video that some of the rear suspension broke when you were trying to put the back wheels on. Is it possibable that something moved when you glued it back together. Is the space between the top of the rear tires and the inner fenders the same on both sides. If not, that might be your issue. You might need to put a small spacer under the spring on one side to even things out. You could paint those brake calipers for a little extra detail. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Thanks Jeff. Turns out it was the front right suspension that was not seated fully. It’s made up of about 5 parts intertwined together so I got them loose and seated them better and used ca glue. The wobble was reduced significantly and is barely noticeable now so I’m going to live with it.
Thanks for your help. Getting rid of the warp in the stance will be a challenge.
Hi Scotty, Your car looks great. I've never tried a Nascar kit. I'll have to build one, one of these days. I would just glue the wheels on. They really don't need to turn. Thanks, for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
hi Scott i would glue them in postion ,dont think they were realy designed to go around
Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Scotty, I hope you get those decals to settle down. I think what you are already doing is about the best thing. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Question: Do I install the decals to the raised lettering on the tires, or to the other side which is smooth? The instructions don’t specify.
I do the smooth side, let them dry a day and put couple things coats of testors dull coat over the sidewalls, I find it blends the decals in and protects them
@@carouselofcrazychrisbThanks Chris, that’s what I’m going to do. Enjoyed your cicada vid. I grew up with those crazy looking things in Houston but Olympia must be too cold for them. Gotta know more about the Barbie mobile you’re making lol
Thanks for watching, fast foward if you need cuz your time is valuable. Have a great day!
Very cool! Always a fan of thenold NASCAR kits!! Your neighbor is gonna love it!
Thanks for watching Chris!
Hi Scotty, Nice job on your latest project. Thaubs for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
BTW Jeff, I went ahead and scratch made another rear view mirror and wouldn’t you know, I found the lost part the next day across the hall in our bedroom, just staring up at me from the carpet. The styrene river is a crazy place.
@@scottyshipbuilder I'm glad you found it. Isn't it crazy how things work out sometimes. I think the carpet monster is just playing with you. LOL Have a great day. Jeff

Hi Scotty, Your Bradley turned out really nice. The weathering is great. Your step-son is going to love it. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Hi Scotty, Your Bradley is looking really nice. I like the decals you made up. It won't be long before this is finished. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Hi Scotty, Thanks for a look at your progress on the Bradley. We all have, what I guess I would call expectations, of how a model should work when we start the build. Unfortunately they don't always work out. Your Bradley is looking great. Take your time and don't let those little parts frustrate you. You picked a great airbrush. You should get years of great use out of it. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Hi Scott, Nice work. thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
