I have the 6305sff, and warnong to the wose, it is a severely limited version of the 6300. It has very few cpu options, only takes low profile gpus. Upgradability is hard limited to old AMD cpus of which none will give a good improvement

this was my first sony walkman (I've got exactly the same model and black colour) and to this day I still use it and the battery stil functions as if it were new ! Imagine how qualitative this product must be to still be functioning today ! I even can't remember where I bought it... inet says "production ceased in 2006" so it must be at least some 19 years old ! (and still functioning perfectly in 2024 !)

Even in 2024, these devices are stellar for listening to audio books downloaded from your library (via Libby, Overdrive etc) as as the NWZ e46x and e47x models allow multiple audio books to be downloaded and listened to. They clearly indicate chapters listened to or not listened to and remember, for each audiobook , where you left off. These critical features are lacking on most other players. Devices still available on ebay and replacement batteries available on Amazon or ebay for those individuals not averse to a little disassembly and soldering.

I recently started a "Gamer Zone" for events and birthdays with a friend and another friend gave us one of these PCs for free (AMD FM2) and sure, it isn't the best but you know what it can run without any hassle? emulators, so I installed Linux and it became our main PC for emulators for events and festivals, we upgraded the ram and maybe eventually the GPU, it runs anything up to Gamecube / Wii, if we upgrade the GPU maybe we could try Wii U but so far it has been amazing, way better and less riskier than bringing out our own PCs also because it is really small it is easy to carry around

Wrong about this pc i have a free HP 8000 with a C2Q 9450 / 4gb ram and a Quadro K1200 for Windows XP gaming and it does a fantastic job, also a Optiplex 7010 i7 3770 with 16gb and a GTX 750ti for Windows Vista i used components i had laying around so both costed about 20€ for the i7 and Q9450 upgrade

Just bought one of these (but an 8GB version) for 25$ on Facebook marketplace. I'm very impressed with it for a 12 year old device. Drag and drop worked completely fine for adding music. My biggest concern was the battery life but after charging to full I left it playing music for over 12 hours and it still has 3/4 bars. I also really like the convenient hold/lock switch and the ability to use a custom wallpaper. Also powering it on or off is nigh instantaneous! I'm glad I chose to buy an old device from a reputable brand instead of a brand new but cheaply made no name product from amazon. Too bad it wasn't a hit at release, but with smartphones already popular in 2011, I don't think it ever stood a chance. Oh well, I'll give mine plenty of love until it gives up the ghost.

Great analysis on these sff computers... Yep! i love the old games for a little entertainment so my HP Compaq only got a GT 730 and so 720 fps in most games and thats it ,cheap and fun!! ....so thank you for the big effort in explaining what these are all about great work !!

I got one for free, put a i7 for the correct socket a gt610 gpu. and added another 8g memory for a total of 16g. as well as a 500g ssd. And this PC plays G.o.W Ragnorok easily with 60+ fps. and never has gotten hot after hours of playing, So, in short, you are sadly mistaken on your review of this hidden gem of a office PC.

I picked on of these up in 2017 as an upgrade from a raspberry pi for emulation. It was perfect because it was cheap, and emulated ps2 and GC perfectly, which was all I needed. It was also great for getting me into pc gaming, the fact that there was a limited upgrade path meant it I couldn't get overwhelmed by the choices I had as a new pc gamer. After upgrading it over a few years, and getting more comfortable with all the quirks and pitfalls of pc gaming I eventually built one of my own. That was a great starter pc, I wish I never got rid of it lol

I was able to get the 6305 with a 16GB RAM, CPU, and low profile graphic's card upgrade for around 200 dollars altogether (monitor included). With some extra engineering and software compatibility, like Linux, you can min/max the performance a decent amount. It's obviously not going to beat my Titan GT77, but it's still fun to mess with, and it doesn't have to be the best to still be fun.

Naw, It's just that this is a business laptop and it's built to be easy to work on and Simple to the eyes.

the battery is the downside of this laptop, but fortunately you can now buy cheap adapters to convert your charger into usb c and charge it with laptop powerbank with higher capacity, I'm planning on buying a 20000mah power bank and use it as secondary battery for this laptop, it weigh like the 9 cell battery of this machine and portable and also it cost cheaper than a third party battery for lenovo thinkpads.

I just bought an x230 for my daughter to replace our x230t that died. Pulled the ips screen from the x230t and put it in the x230. Put an ssd in there, new battery, 8gb ram and it’s fantastic. Battery life is fine

The NWZ-E464 is an 8GB version of this same player. The upper market model of its time I think was the NWZ-S764 from the S Series.

They should have made 2 variants, one for business with all the security and a consumer version with email and android support and no need for the phone. I still use mine to this day, it is here beside me now. They were just too arrogant as you say.

The X230 is a nice system, but it's hard to recommend it. If you're a ThinkPad purist, than the X220 has the nicer old keyboard. If you're a regular user, than an X260 or X270 are much quicker, have better ports and better external display support and are about the same price ($300 or less, usually). If it's very cheap, than it might be worth considering, but it wouldn't be my first choice unless cost is the main concern.
