Wonderful music, light and melancholic. Is Eric Le Sage the pianist?

One of my favorite pieces of music. I'm a big fan of Frank Zappa's music from the 1960's and he spoke about Stravinsky in interviews, so I went out and bought a couple albums and one was L`Histoire du Soldat and the other was Rite of Spring. I then heard certain parts Zappa used in some of his music like "Call Any Vegetable". Also "Igor's Boogie Parts I and II" are directly influenced by this piece. Thanks for educating me, Frank.

This is an outstanding recording of a magnificent piece of music. Let me tell you, it doesn't get any better than this. Stravinsky would have been very, very proud of this performance. One thing I have to say is, I enjoyed this immensely. Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful recording.

Excellent flute playing but hey, let's not forget the pianist! He's done his time staring at little black dots on a page and translating them into a solid support and interactive partner for the guy getting all the credit! Wonderful crisp and lyrical piano playing. Great ensemble.

Fantastic reccording of a masterpiece created by a real GENIUS!

His taste, the cleanliness of the sound, the perfect undefinable between concrete matter and shapeless fluid which cannot be held in the hands because it runs right through the tiniest slivers, agility, enough shrillness in the high piques to make the aggression felt without being imposing, I cannot praise this playing enough even from the little I understand as a pianist with minimal experience working with flutists. On another note, interesting quotation and development of material from Dialogues des Carmélites in the second movement.

I have listened to all five of Mendelssohn's symphonies in turn, and concluded that they are splendid. His music is an interesting mixture of Classicism and Romanticism. Of course his violin concerto is deservedly popular, and I must now give his piano concertos a listen.
