Did you shoot the footage with the native camera app or a 3rd party app like Black Magic? When I record ProRes log 120 fps I get some dropped frames. It is not completely smooth and is a little choppy. I’ve been recording to a Samsung T7.

Yes i recork 2k 14 bit . I prefer more bits than resolution. Imagine an good guitar and a bad guitar . So one good guitar will allways palay better than 4000 bad guitars . Thats the resolution vs color depth . 10bit is one bilion colors 12bit is 68 bilion colors 14 bit is 4 trilion colors and 16 bit is 283 trilion 400 bilion colors 8bit=16.000.000 10bit=1000.000.000 12bit=68000.000.000 14bit=4.000.000.000.000 16bit=283.400.000.000.000 With more color you can upscale without losing croma information Resolution is just the number of pixels Do not reflect color space fidelity. But none of this matters if the subject in front of your lens is bad. 😎

Yesterday I realised that my Ninja V+ also has the problem of broken rear supports. I saw how poorly engineered the retention system is by means of a threaded part inserted in a light little plastic tube that breaks even without stress. This is by no means a construction for professionals, it's worse than a toy. It went off while I was shooting an event. I have asked Atomos for support, let's see how they respond and if they will help me.

Ive got 2.5inch SSDs to work. The error on your red appears only because you didn't power the external sata ssd with the power from the camera.

Can’t find the dynamic range anywhere

More bits does not mean more color. More bits means more color POTENTIAL; however, none of the sensors in these cameras exceed dynamic range a 12bit log RAW container can hold, not even this RED. Only the Alexa35 currently can exceed the need of a 12 bit log raw container, which is why it has shifted to a 14bit log raw container. If people need the details probably the easiest way to demonstrate this is to have people type ln(2^16)and you'll notice that the natural log result is only 11.09 bits of data to store that 2^16 bits of information in a natural log form. Remember our perception of the quantity of light is naturally logarithmic, just like aperture and ND. That means by applying a log function we can retain the same quantity of relevant data in a smaller container, and then in post restore it to it's original value state with the opposite curve. This is how log also functions with 8bit and 10bit formats, except with those there is literal information loss even if in most 8bith output situations it would likely be almost imperceptible.

I had for 4 years since 2015 but the fpn was so bad + 10 stops dynamic range. Against a hacked 5D Mk3 it's just nothing.

Why not shooting 3840x1536 14bit or 4096x1440 14bit. The quality is crazy + you can use a 18-35 Sigma Art 1.8 since it uses 1.5 crop. Since you have a Alexa, is it possible to compare 5D Mk3 14bit Raw directly in Resolve + MLV App to Alexa Log and exported as ProRes 4444 against the Alexa footage? With Dual ISO enabled it should be pretty comparable.

This is incredible! True cinema-like footage. I've never seen digital footage to come close to true film cameras and the film stock feel, I mean in this "small" and "consumer" line (giants like Arri and Red etc., excluded ofc). This is phenomenal on so many levels.
