The Antique Nomad LIVE!
США
Добавлен 11 июл 2021
I wander across North America-buying, selling, appraising and collecting antiques and vintage items. My journeys take me to antique malls, shows, estate sales & auctions.
I enjoy sharing my passion for the objects and recollections of yesteryear. Join me as I travel coast-to-coast, scouring the countryside for interesting places to buy and sell cool old stuff. I might be at an antique show one week, digging through an estate the next, setting up a retail display or showing off the latest finds...it's a fun life, and I hope you'll subscribe and come along!
I've found an amazing, warm, fun group of people among the community of collectors, resellers and decorators who make up this crazy antique and vintage collecting world. My desire is to extend those great experiences and fun to all of you who subscribe!

Just watched your store video and I just don't understand how in the world this venture of yours didn't succeed 😢. This is awesome. May God restore you like he did Job. God bless you 😊.
I am catching up on shows I missed. This was so good!
I'm, surprised to find this antique mall on You Tube, but I like it. I've been here often in the past since the mall is only about 10 miles away from my house along Interstate 70. They have some amazing stuff, priced reasonably.
I love this mall! The people are so friendly and helpful. There's something for everyone and every budget! It's huge! Make sure you pick up a map at the entrance so you can mark a booth you want to go back to.
Great Christmas!
One of these days, I'm going to catch one of these shopping trips live! I now know this was done 2 years ago, but I still have to tell you. THAT WAS A PUG! There are 2 things I know about, Elvis and Pugs!
Poodle is darling! Great pickings. Too much to see and not want it all. Ty
I’m supposed to go flea market and sell problem I have no one to really help me load sort . We have a nice pick up Noemi and my partner but he isn’t really into stuff we have been together will be 45 yrs in October. Oh boy big problem I have need to sell my hoard. HELP
You have any suggestions what I can do George
Omg you still looking for more stuff wow we have a hoarding problem. Lol your storage house is full and your booths. My home is cluttered basement and upstairs cluttered I keep a lot love treasures . Facebook marketplace I sell on it’s LONG TAIL SALES IN THE MEANTIME MY HOME FULL OF GOODS. BAGS AND BAGS OF CLOTHING LINENS I NEED TO SELL ALOT OF THIS AND GET MY HOME BACK OH BOY
Thank you for donating your hair George! Love all the glass! Well, really I just love it all. :) Great vid. To anyone who is going. I have an early bird ticket and will be wearing a bright yellow t shirt. I am tall and have dark hair. I may just wear a name tag! If you see me, give me a holler! :)
Hi George! I really enjoyed this video. It's really interesting to see you decide what to bring, and the longer length was really a treat. My husband and I will try to go to the Portland show this Saturday, so we'll say hi, and maybe we'll see some of these items. I love the Czech brooch and lucite elephant I got from you in Spokane.
Hi! I’m so glad you enjoyed this and I hope you can make it. I expect to get some fresh vintage jewelry just before the show so who knows?
George, great stuff for Portland! I haven't watched the vintage vlogs for quite awhile since I retired from re-selling. After 40 years on the side! So nice to see you going strong and still excited about your craft. When I was in HS in the 70s we called cricket boxes stash boxes for the obvious reason. No need to stash any more in most places haha. Good luck to you at the show! One of these days I'll have to go. I enjoyed this preview of your always cool inventory.❤🙏
Hi there! I hadn’t heard any of us were allowed to retire ha ha but congratulations. It is still fun for me doing this RUclips stuff is actually in invigorated me again. I imagine lots of boxes were called stash boxes in the 70s nowadays everything’s cartridges or gummies so I guess they don’t need them anymore.
@@TheAntiqueNomadLive I should have put the word retired in quotation marks lol. I retired from my career then two years later from reselling, meaning I decided to pack it in! I never was a toker, smoker, nor mid night joker but hung with the best of them back then. It is interesting where that stuff was stashed. You seem to still be enjoying yourself and that's epic because so many learn a lot from you. You and Xeno stay safe out there and happy picking!
Admired your knowledge of your trade!
There is an Espresso Booth on Every Corner out there..... Percolaters make sense and art deco coffee things!
Safe travels!
Watching replay. Sorry we missed the live. Pete and I just said “wow” at the same time when you showed the Wisteria pottery vase. It is beautiful. 😍
😊❤
Hi George, in reference to the cricket boxes, I thought I’d explain why the ancient Chinese kept crickets. Not only for their happy chirping, but for fighting. Yes, they had cricket fights. The elite would gamble on the cricket matches. If you read traditional Chinese stories or watch films that take place in historic times, you’ll often hear about some nobleman’s champion cricket! 🦗 And just as an aside, crickets will eat anything, from bread to other crickets! 😅. Edit: could the little glass vase be from Anton Studios? They make similar looking vases of different colors. 🤔
Hi there! Thank you for the explanation, I had heard about the crickets coming home in cages but I didn’t know they were for gambling and sport. Also thank you for the vase I.d., I’ll check it out
Sorry, I missed this live. You have collected alot of great merchandise for your show. Hope all goes well. So looking forward to Spokanes show. I'm also collecting some good things. Say hello to people for me. MISS WILDLIFE, Naomi, whoever you think I would know.😊
I sure will! We’ll have great fun in Spokane this fall
I know, I have some great things also. It's going to be here before you know it. I want to enjoy some more summer first, we look forward to it all year. Thanks
we used to call my mother’s beige confetti Texas Ware melmac bowl the “ puke bowl” when i was a kid in the 60s. hated it. i laugh now when I see them. can’t bring myself to buy one ( to sell).
lol some colors were questionable that way
Hi George, I am looking for CamArk Salt and pepper shakers. Do you have any in your collection of shakers?
I love those and I bet I might but I won’t get to unwrap the rest of that collection until next month
You lion now i get lion tshirt
I like the micro mosaics too!
That lady in the coat with decorative wooden frame was cool! 😊
I think so too!
Hi George. Char/Oregon. Learning from Laura about Ikebana Japanese Pottery. Have found several lately. Drive careful across country!
Hi there! yes, the ikebana pottery can be very interesting. I have a friend whose mother is a master at it and it is quite an art form.
Hey George! I didn't see a notice...I'm kinda on rest today, my right knee is all swollen. More than Normal. I think I must have twisted it when I fell out of bed this past weekend. 🙄 3x in 6 months. I think I had a Politically inspired nightmare. My Moms BF had the fire king coffee cups in all 3 colors. And the owl vomit pieces were the least disagreeable. Myself it's the Science Experiments in wax covered jars t hat are horrendous. You know, veggies in oil. This video was really fun I wish I had caught it. I will confess to speeding it up since I was on rewatch and I t was 2 hours, but it was interesting. Those flowers are 2 die for I wouldn't take less than $10 each. Do the flowers glow in the dark? Not blue light? I'm going down the hole trying to figure them out. Are they on one stem as a bunch or all singles. Cuz I'd sell them as singles at 10 or 15 each you might make your booth 😆 ❤❤❤😊 Hey Xeno!
I'm sorry to hear that, I fell getting out of bed a few months ago and it hurts! I liked all the colors of that mug I ever saw. Agreed about the owls, lol! I know the video was long but I sure had fun showing all this stuff to everyone and am glad you enjoyed it! The flowers are really cool, I'll have to test them
Sorry I missed this live. We were entertaining aother couple for their anniversary.❤️🌹😊
That's okay, there'll be more!
Watching replay and listening to fireworks.
Wow! You have a lot of things to pack, and they are a fantastic variety! I really liked the parquetry box. The Roseville _Wisteria_ vase is my vibe, too. The Native American stone piece is actually something I'd like to have. With what you have to sell, you will do great at the show!
I'm glad you caught on to what I'm trying to do here! The show focus is so vintage that I think it's necessary to expand the horizons of the attendees, everything you like is up that alley.
@@TheAntiqueNomadLive Yes, if people expand their horizons a bit, and mix antiques with vintage, it gives a space a "lived-in" look, with much more interest. It gives a look that things have been acquired over time and generations. It can also be amasing at how true antiques can mix with vintage in really relative ways. Among the mid-century fish/fishing-related planters I have, I also have two Dugan _Fisherman's_ mugs, in amethyst Carnival Glass. It just works. Those plastic flowers you have, for example - put them in a tall Czech Spatter Ware vase. The colours in a Czech Spatter Ware vase, combined with the colours of the flowers, would compliment each other quite well, and it would bring two different time periods together in a really cohesive way. Some people that collect things like the flowers might not even know things like the Czech Spatter Ware even exists, unless they see them together. Even then, they might be quite surprised to learn a Czech Spatter Ware vase is a much older piece than the flowers. Learning that would definitely expand their horizons.
@@CONSTELLATION_PEGASUSvery smart! They would look great in a Czech spatter vase. So fun you found a way you could mix Dugan glass with your planters
Hi Happy 4th 🎉
I’m gonna have to check out that store when I go to Vegas. Very nice!
WISH YOU WOULD HAVE STATED PRICES or showed them better.
It’s a little hard when things are locked in cases. I can’t really ask the staff to stop helping customers to open cases for me to see the prices. I do try to talk prices some of the time but honestly, I’m also about the information about the pieces and the scholarship, so I don’t always think to do it, but I’ll bear that in mind.
Fine with me...go on
You know, it's a funny thing... if I was with, say, my sister shopping at a flea market, I wouldn't have the same patience that I have waiting for george to make a transaction. I wonder why?... I guess it's the fact that he's so calm and that relieves anxiousness to get going on ahead. PLUS, I'm learning as we go along (and, actually stuck here in my chair anyway.)..XXOO, Di
I understand it’s funny how when you’re the one doing it it’s a different experience than when you’re with someone else doing it because you want to get on and see the next thing
O missed it!😢 I love Fenton ❤ please do another Fenton auction. I will be more diligent and looking. I loved your pieces.
Will do!!
Once again, I'm perfectly happy every minute as you take us on a hunt. This is good for my attitude. XO, Di
The white building next to the Palacio Municipal was my great grandparents' home: Karl Brucklmaier and Luisa Larrinaga. My grandmother and her siblings grew up there.
Oh that is really cool! I'm so glad you saw this and could tell me. I rather enjoyed Guaymas
I love you ❤
Aww thanks!
This is such a BIG and beautiful antique mall I could spend all day enjoying checking everything out.😃🙂. Thanks so much for sharing your world with us. 🙂
You are so welcome!
Maybe too much caffeine? Hes dominating the video, sorry kust my yhoughts. I like it much netter when you address your audience and not focus on him. Too busy for my liking
Who is the guy with you runnimg the camera/ He is annoyimg and distracting and his camera skills are questionable!
Great advice about not opening right away iif theres temperature change. I had never heard that advice before.
Glad it was helpful!
Is it just me,or do George and Xeno have a rather contentious relationship? Love them both, don't get me wrong... Just wondering about my vibe. Probably wrong
I wouldn't say contentious, but unrehearsed and we come from different viewpoints to get to the same conclusion
Stealing Baby Jesus is No Bueno! 🤣
Thanks for showing the beautiful Overshot Glass George!👍😊👍
My pleasure! I know you like it too
For the macrame, u would make it into a small table w a round piece of glass, like a coffee table glass
Thank you! A few people were able to explain that to me.
They were around in the early 80s. I had one :)
