The placeholders for the fiber tips come with the connectors. The other magnetic placeholders came with the T400S kit

The black top is necessary with anaerobic terminations, I don’t think it’s needed with fusion. The only time you’re working with the core element is during cleaving. For the sake of showing it on camera though I agree!
