Here are insights on some of the Pokémon I particularly used the most in some point of the playthrough. First, is one of my team members from my first Radical Red 3.0 playthrough in (Mega) Lopunny. We all know how great Mega Lopunny is because it hits hard and is very fast, didn’t needing much priority outside of a first-turn flinch in Fake Out. Appletun is next, I got Applin from the Pewter City egg trying to get any of the possible legendary encounters (e.g., Kubfu, Poipole, and Cosmog, though I did get the latter two from the Cerulean and Vermillion City Wonder Eggs respectively), but Appletun became a blessing in disguise for handling Misty with its natural special bulk and access to Thick Fat downgrades it’s x4 Ice weakness which was useful since many boss battles had Ice-types and/or Water-types that has Ice-type coverage. I used this for Blaine and although very underleveled (I had it at Level 69, which is somehow not nice because it has 7 levels lower over Blaine’s level cap of 76), it managed to easily sponge a sun-boosted, full-powered, Blazing Soul-prioritized Eruption from his Typhlosion. Furret was spotlighted the most in the early game, and Lanturn was blessed by the RNG Gods in the initial Misty battle because Toxicroak had 3 full turns of paralysis in a row, and then the one time it went for a move being the priority Sucker Punch, it also got the full paralysis. Pikachu has some surprisingly good use with both the Flying and Surfing forms because of its great priority use in Fake Out, ExtremeSpeed, and Zippy Zap that has the additional effect of always landing a critical hit, that shone very well with the Sabrina battle that is under permanent Trick Room. Speaking of Sabrina, that is where Pincurchin and Throh did as well, the former because of being slower than Mega Camerupt (with Quiet nature and 0 Speed IVs) allows Pincurchin to hit first with Scald and the latter having access to Technician and boosted Storm Throw that always lands a critical hit. Floatzel was featured briefly, being mostly seen in the Clair battle but having it as a lead makes a difference now. See, the handicap of Clair’s battle is that I cannot use Fairy-types and I cannot eliminate status hazards like Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rocks, etc. Also, she leads with a Shuckle that will set-up, but I guess the new update nerfs it because I remember it having Red Card before, so that it will force a switch and guarantee an entry hazard, but now it has Focus Sash, and this is where Technician Floatzel waltzes in. With Fake Out and access to Surging Strikes, I can guarantee on not having entry hazards on my side at all. Alolan Muk is another one that is highlighted well because of its great defensive typing, access to Poison Touch and special bulk. Sheer Force/Life Orb Nidoking is a no-brainer, and so does Snorlax after all they’re both in my very first Radical Red E4/Champion team from 2 years ago. Runerigus and Seviian Ursaring fulfill the same premise I used them in their respective Monotype videos. While lacking Triage, thanks to its natural bulk Meganium still became useful in some parts. Pangoro with access to Iron Fist and strong priority, Aerodactyl is great even though I despise it for being annoyingly strong and fast, and Delphox would’ve been in my E4/Champion but changed last second (the newest update also nerfs it, blocking access to Mind Blown until Level 100 so it is for the best) Serene Grace Togekiss is the best and (Mega) Swampert is included as well, after all it is the best. Lastly, Technician Scizor is another one that is highlighted very well, which is a no-brainer because of having access to strong priority boosted by Technician.
