"This is indeed a "Recent History of Owukpa" and NOT the Early and True History of Owukpa. The early and true history of Owukpa holds that the progenitor of Ai Oko Omododo was a slave brought to Agada Akpaka's house from Orokam. He and his children belonged to Agada Akpaka, their master, from the life time of Agada Akpaka (over 400 years ago) until 1978 when late Col. Idoko of Ai Unwaba clan, used his position as the Sole Administrator of Okpokwu Local Government to grant independence and autonomy to Ai Oko as autonomous clan in Ehaje. It is a grievous ingratitude to Ai Unwaba for a member of Ai Oko clan, to call Ai Unwaba bad name today after Ai Unwaba has liberated their clan and set them free from bondage of slavery. To claim that Oko Omododo has the same paternity with Agada Akpaka his master is very amusing and shows lack of knowledge of ones origin. Court judgment cannot change the history of a people. Slavery has been abolished long ago and there is no reason for anyone to hide his true identity. The Africans whose for father were former slaves in America and Europe though now citizens in those places, never changed or claimed paternity with the whites. They maintain their African origin and are proud to be Africans. The suit was instituted solely to bear the name of Amuche Onomo through the back door. The true history of Owukpa is contained in many written records in custody of the National Archives of Nigeria, Kaduna Division. They were offered by the early elders of the community and written as far back as 1925 to 1936. The court Judgement of 2020 did not reflect the history as stated in those records and cannot be the history of Owukpa, because court has no power to impose a false genealogy/ history on any person or community. Owukpa was governed by Native law and custom rooted in the true history of Owukpa until Nigerian independence and now. The court judgement cannot change this position. The fact that some people went to court to find their history shows that such people do not know their true history and origin. Another aspect that needs to be touched is the statement that Owukpa was divided into Itabono and Ehaje for administrative convenience. Who made it so? This is false. Itabono is a settlement that was founded by Okpe and it is distinct from Ipole Owukpa where Amuche Onomo founded and settled. The first son and family head of Okpe is Unwaba who expanded Itabono to it's present size. It is rather the clans that were created for administrative convenience after the creation of Local Government Areas in Nigeria. The clans were not created as a reflection of the children of Amuche Onomo but for administrative convenience. It is the deliberate false history of Owukpa and of the children of Amuche Onomo being peddled today that brought crisis to the peaceful community since 2020. No history is based on a court judgement that was delivered by a person who is not a member of the community and who had never visited the community or heard from any elder or traditional ruler of the community to know what the history was before the dispute that led to the case in court arose. We should rather discuss what will unite us and not what will perpetuate disputes and hatred among us. Let's leave family and clannish tussle to discuss development and progress of Owukpa. The false history will not take us anywhere. Calling those who are liberators the bad names will not do any good. That was the position u where until 1978 when an unwaba son help to grant you clan status since there is no more slavery. Are u aware that Ai-Amuche where u hail from is a grand son of Amuche Onomo via Odobo his daughter? And that Okomododo was adopted. Where did u place Ai-Nwaba and Ai-Ochidu in ur historical analysis? If Ai-Amuche has right being grand Son from a daughter of Amuche Onomo what right did u ascribe to Ai-Nwaba or are u not aware of the existence of Nwaba? I don't mean Aroga oo because U have being calling Aroga and Nwaba interchangeably in ur broadcast.
