The now-defunct Planet Hollywood Nashville opened its doors in a starstudded gala in 1996. As a news reporter/anchor for the CBS affiliate I took a break from covering homicides and car crashes in the Dothan, Alabama area, and spring break troubles in Panama City, Florida, to cover the opening. This is the story that aired on WTVY-TV that same year.
