The drum mags are definitely touch and go but running more powerful ammo may help..... Try rounds that are advertised above 1300 fps . I put 20 or 30 slugs running at 1600 fps and it ran like a top after that

Limp wristing allows the frame to flex and cause different malfunctions. Common with polymer framed guns. Textured skins are available to apply to the grip to help with gripping power.

KelTec must have upgraded the mags bc mine ran perfectly this weekend. I used one drop on either side of the mag follower... ...then loaded 30 rds in each mag & let em set overnight. I used 40gr Arms Corp bc that's all they had headed to the range. It ran em all.! Accurate, I had the spinners a spinnin.! I'm now a KelTec fan, I'm ordering a case of CCI Maxi's.

Good job and thank you. That is too much oil for my Walther WMP as it and a new Mossberg wouldn’t grab the shell with the extractor. Don’t see nothing wrong with 3 in 1 my self. Some guy started to make and sell gun oil, don’t know what it had but it was too much. I have a PMR 30 as well and won’t spare the oil like I do with Glock and others. If it’s too much spray with brake cleaner.
Thanks for this. You the man
@@ianpixley1582 thanks for watching and commenting!
All you have to do is look at the ft pounds and see what is the highest in your caliber and go with that NOT the highest grain ! 9mm is best between 70ish to 115 grain for the most knock down power. I have many deer kills with the 115 +p ballistic red tip and did great .
@@RaymondColley-is1sq I definitely like using pistol calibers to deer hunt. It’s kind of like going from a compound bow to a recurve once you get more skill to even the odds! Thanks for the comment!

Depends where you are, southern deer sure, Michigan, Wisconsin and Canadian deer? Probably not lol. Big difference too. Your deer down there look about 100 lbs, deer up here get to be 200+lbs. Im going to hunt with my 686 5" this fall. But you'll get a lot more performance with your carbine
@@SilenceDoGood4th I’m definitely not taking my 9mm carbine during regular rifle season when I have much better options to use, early rifle season, however, is a different story. We can only harvest antlerless deer during early rifle season so I’ll most likely take my 9mm during early rifle.
What state are you in? Why couldn't your uncle just give it to you and let you take it home?
@@Wildwestwrangler VA and he could, I didn’t know that older antique firearms did not have to be transferred between family members at the time.
I totally agree, I bought a PMR about 8 or 9 years ago, it ran great when I first got it. I put about 300 rounds thought it with no problems. I cleaned it and it sat in the gun safe for about 6 or 7 years before I took it to the range to shoot it again. It ran like crap, failure to feed, jams. I cleaned it again and still had some problems, but it was a little better. Long story short this gun has a be clean and oiled. And don't forget to clean the inside of the magazines. Thanks.

I never shoot a new gun without cleaning it and oiling it first. Not sure if true or not, but I once was told the kind of lubricant guns are shipped with, is more to preserve the guns for long storage than for actual shooting. So this is something I would be doing even without watching the video. Still, very much appreciated confirmation that I need to keep doing this with my guns.

Nice video. CVA makes some very accurate muzzleloaders. Powerbelts and round balls are both deadly on deer. If you don't already, try cleaning your muzzleloader with hot soapy water. Then, use Bore Butter or Balistol to protect your bore while stored away. I've used this method for many years now and don't have problems with rusting. 🦌
I might make another video using this gun soon. Thanks for the comment!

Why would the US military carry a 9mm if it were not meant to kill a full grown man? I am from Texas, if you kill a deer over 150 lbs you were very lucky, most are smaller. 9mm is a .35 bullet. Very informative video.

@@HILLBILLY_HARD I order my pure mink oil from track of the wolf I've been using it for years. When I clean my muzzleloader I run water in a coffee pot and use it to dump down the barrel and run patch down to dry it out then I cover patches with the mink oil and run those patches down the barrel and I use those patches to rub on outside and let it cool and you good to go
