Actually most new inspections do want it on top of the siding. Only way to guarantee no water into the main structure. Nobody cares if your lean-to leaks a little. Lol

To date ( THIS ) particular deal happened only once. A NON- Listed Person ( CLAIMED ) to have been Rightful Owner of LAND ( HE did ) NOT BUY or LEASE or Paperwork to Prove any of it for decades to others in the area. Like the Hatfield's and Mc Coys. How it got started and then who is going to end it came down to LEGAL Representation. Local and County Officers had to be called to this site. The Friend of a friend had Threatened ( VIOLENCE of the Led Flying Kind ) while NOT knowing ( WE ) had Authorities there to Take control of the situation at hand. NOW, Lets FAST Forward to Any Fence being placed to CLEAR the Air. There are a FEW basic Guidelines. NOT What is butt more so ( WHAT ) is NOT the best way to mark them off - overall. Natural items, Sticks, Stones, Rocks, Trees, all can be moved more easily. TREES grow which means the Landmark Changes through time as a General rule. I have always had to dig the whole thing out roots ...ball...tap ...all of it with excavator. It saves a ton of time. May cost a few hundred dollars bit well worth saving the back!
