Your point at 08:15 in GoT dragons had been extinct for generations so the knowledge and use of scorpions had been lost with time. It likely took a while (a whole season) for the maesters to research the scorpion designs from historic records not readily available, and pass it on to the blacksmiths.

Dialogue can make or break a show for me. It can really pull you out of the moment or character because it's clunky, heavy-handed or flat. I watched the show because an actress mentioned it in an obscure interview (before the critical acclaim and awards). The characters really make the show. Have you seen season 3? What do you think?

I watched the show in real time and season 1 left a lasting impression because of the multiple POV storytelling. The show went on too long (like most shows).

I agree with you. The production of this new iteration of “The Crow” failed because of the script. In my take, I would have taken out the Rehab/Detention Centre completely and started the film with Shelly sleeping. The camera pans over the bed and a voice-over of Bill’s voice (Eric) tells a short soliloquy about his love and devotion for her. Next, Eric joins her in bed and Shelly gets the text while he’s asleep. As the story progresses they could have added the flashbacks of their union. The story should then unfold from the rave scene. That’s my take on how they should have set the tone/stage for the film.

I agree with you. This would certainly be better, but it would not guarantee a successful film. I really enjoyed your point of view. Most videos just whine about films these days, not giving their own opinion and a "solution". As an author myself, I really liked your advice. When I see something which is badly written, I tend to examine how it could be fixed.

I would have to disagree. I found the show very intriguing and the idea that so many Americans right now after Covid, job losses, just generally not knowing who they are are in their late 30s early 40s without a career, or family or really direction in their life because what they thought they wanted fell flat. I feel a lot of people could relate to her situation in the sense of needing😊 to find themselves and being older than they want to be. I’ve actually pulled it off very well and I’m only two episodes in.

I Agree with your synopsis. Shes a great actress. I wanted this to be funny, but it fell flat for me. I just saw her character as self sabatoging. I see where they are trying to go with it, but at 35, this should not be anyones life. 20's maybe, but not 35. I jelled more with Michelle Buteau in Survival of the Thickest last year. I really wish they would have brought that back. But the Actors Strike got in the way. 😢 And like you said some of the storylines just didn't make sense for me. ESPECIALLY the hospital bill piece. Also How did she get all the courage to move forward from the waitress job, but hesitates to go for the management job, with Rory being the motivator and the catalyst ABOUT moving forward. That's stupid. He wants her to have a life outside of him, but encourages her to not move forward. Make it make sense 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ Anyway good to see I wasnt alone in my account of the show.

I also think there was some plot armour and inconsistencies and a little bit of weak acting sometimes but it got better overtime overall a great show

I haven’t seen the movie however I don’t like when Hollywood takes a well-known movie, and basically brings it back whether it’s a sequel or a remake and it has copious amounts of pandering. I’d love to see you do reviews of the following shows and movies: Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, Full Metal Jacket, Barry (HBO Original with Bill Hader), Soprano’s, Tulsa King S1, the blacklist and the God father of Harlem.

I haven't seen this movie but I am completely over the gender/race swapping, sequels, prequels and remakes. Hollywood is creatively bankrupt imo.

I realize I am in the extreme minority, but I thought this film was awful. I see so many people defending all the flaws of the movie and it baffles my mind. Storylines that are pointless, dreary, mopey atmosphere is at odds with the light-heartedness of the original, cringey 80s effects (that while nostalgic are not _good_), Ortega's plotline is good but happens so late and takes about 5 minutes of screentime, 2 cringey lip-sync scenes that are hard to watch and use music that is 1000 times less fun than the 80's song, and Beetlejuice was just plain not interesting or funny. I wanted to walk out. The writing was amateurish to the point of being insulting. On that note, almost everybody else really liked it, so kuddos to the studio. Good review, thanks.

100% agree. Every media company is trying to dig up every popular chartacter they have the rights to regardless of how awful the story will be. I dont blame the actors for participating since they are most likely getting a massive payday.
