    Scarlet badis don't require live food, they will eat high quality flake food. You also need to remove the puffer, they can't be housed with other species and will eat everything they can.

    • @4kfishes
      @4kfishes 22 дня назад

      @@GreatNW I’ve noticed my Scarlet Badis also enjoy frozen food too! Luckily my Badis and pea puffer have been living peacefully side by side for the last 6 months! Biggest advice here is that make sure everyone is fed well to disperse aggression.

    • @GreatNW
      @GreatNW 10 дней назад

      @4kfishes I don't doubt the pea puffer hasn't bothered them yet, and it might not, but as they grow and their size difference becomes much larger it could become more of an issue. But it might not, I had a rainbow shark ounce that was very peaceful unlike what many claimed. If you are successful I would definitely be interested in seeing it. As for the badis have you noticed them showing any breeding behavior yet?

    • @4kfishes
      @4kfishes 10 дней назад

      @@GreatNW so my scarlet badis are both male, but they get along together. There’s been a few times they’ve done the scarlet badis dance to guard their territories but it blows over quickly. I’ll keep you updated in a future video about how the pea puffer does as it grows as well. I’ll probably keep my micro predators in this 15 gallon since the tank is so established. My next 50 gallon fish tank will be a pure community full of schooling groups, I’ve moved my Sterbai cories and celestial pearl danios out of the 15 gallon tank you see in this video. It’ll probably make the micro predators even more calm now.

  • @mousedeer7837
    @mousedeer7837 23 дня назад

    Great Video! In my experience, although moina are hardy, resilient, and fast-reproducing, they are also incredibly stupid. They lack any survival skills other than "find food and reproduce" unlike daphnia, scuds, or copepods.

    • @4kfishes
      @4kfishes 22 дня назад

      100%! Scuds are way more efficient to cultivate as well as the other ones you listed. Do you cultivate for a specific species in your tank or as a general diet for your entire tank?

    • @mousedeer7837
      @mousedeer7837 22 дня назад

      @4kfishes Well I kind of do both, but I mostly bought moina to feed my sparkling gourami and to get them to breed. If I get more nano fish, however, I'll probably continue feeding moina. Like for a pencilfish, as they have small mouths.

    Don't include scud shrimp, took on and ate a baby newt larvae, be careful if you have egg laying fish ect, as they are worse and more mobile than snails. Pond full of them, only semblance of control is gold fish, or wildlife pond, damsel or dragon fly larvae, these things can get quite big. Even these cannot get in between pond plant roots, so forget scud shrimps. For the record the first shrimp you seen in this video, they were brine, totally different salt /brine water, don't listen to the robot. 😮😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • @4kfishes
      @4kfishes 25 дней назад

      So the first part of the clip is referencing how I used to purchase brine shrimp for my micro predators! Not that those were scuds. Yes, to your point in the video I mentioned how if you don’t have micro predators your population will get out of hand. Further to your point, only populate your tank with the correct fish based on your tank size. Lastly, yes the voice is AI. But I am a real human writing my own thoughts. I am not a robot. 🤖😏
