Worth The Shot
One day in December 2022, I was walking down a street in Ikeja, Lagos, and observed a man go past me, with a camera lashed to his right arm.
The camera, out in a way that demonstrated intent to use, was what piqued my interest. Street photography is a tricky thing to do in Lagos. So I abandoned my original purpose (lunch), turned around, and followed him from a “safe” distance, because I sensed I’d see something interesting.
Sure enough, this guy stops to photograph some men in military uniforms. This is a thing everyone knows you’re not supposed to do - it’s not illegal, it’s just a good way to have a bad day if they see you. But even though he was pretty close to them, they seemed to not...

Finally getting around to organizing my archive and finding all sorts of vignettes. Like this throwback to the time when I spent 3 weeks in Niamey, Niger, in October, 2022.

I made a super short film about Chef Imoteda's signature dish. Imoteda is a Lagos-based chef that's had an interesting career trajectory and isn't afraid to pursue multiple creative interests. Kind of reminds me of someone I know.
Well done
This is very interesting bro. I enjoyed it. We need more contents like this from Nigeria. But honestly I’d like to see more of your works featured in your videos & also more Nigerian slangs & voice. I feel it’ll make your videos more authentic & intriguing infusing more of the culture of the location you’re taking the pictures. Your speaking of Yoruba did this & I love it but I believe you can add more of pidgin some times & other cultural elements. But well done & kudos for the courage to do this 👏🏽👏🏽
Interesting content. You gained a new subscrber
Pls Mr. Dele pls reduce the phoney a bit. Use more typical Nigerian accent. Am really interested in your photography videos. Am into it for the sake of my Arts . Keep up the Good job sire.
I love this! Wish we could collaborate sometime 🤎
DELE YOU SHOULD SPEND LESS TIME TALKING AND MORE TIME SHOWING OFF YOUR WORK.
Really enjoyed this video! As a creator living in Lagos, the city is so much more open than most people like to assume and this showed that
Yes! Just check to be sure that you take your Lagos sense before you leave home.
Welcome & weldone
I love this type of content❤ new subscriber
That red bus was close… I’m a street photographer as well.
Bruh, my heart stopped while I was filming it in real-time. Dele has both steel cojones and the devil’s luck. The day I first happened on him, he was photographing military men, which in Nigeria is a great way to have a bad day, but somehow they didn’t notice 😅. Which is what piqued my interest in the first place.
Super dope. Gained a subscriber
That bus 😂
I love your work. Instagram handle?
Totally enjoyed watching. Did Dr Tripuvanat from India say his body is from Lagos? :)
As far as I can tell, at the very least it comes from Nigeria 🇳🇬
All the respect to Dele! This was a fun and insightful watch!
Huge respect. Thanks for watching
Love this man 🙏 you've got talent keep it up

I enjoyed the short film a whole lot.
