Thank you dear Isabel. Your voice is magic, melodic, pure, angelic. Once one of my Arab friends heard her song in Arabian on youtube, which is called "Isabel Bayrakdarian - Ya zahratan fee khayaalee | إيزابيل بايركادريان - يا زهره في خيالي" and as he later told me he first became speechless, than big tear drops came down his eyes. He called me on the phone and said, "Hasmik, your compatriot, a very talented Armenian singer shocked me.That Arabic song is most gorgously sung by a non - Arab singer, I listened to the song a thousand times and I like it more and more! Thank you. God bless Armenia! It is really a very nice Arabic song and Isabel Bayrakdarian sings it heavenly. Listen it on youtube. You will enjoy it greatly.
I'm spanish and don' t understand at all armenian language, but i feel someone very sad in my soul when I lisen.... Can anybody tell me whera to find any traslation to spanish or english? Thanks in advance
i AM armenian, and honestly i feel like the rehearsal was far more beautiful than the performance. I wish you'd given us more of all of you sitting at the table. absolutely gorgeous.
Its time to give the Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks a voice! Time to reconise the Armenian Genocide, like the grown-ups that we are. No more running away like scared little children!
Izabel, move on.. everyone in Anatolia went through hard time. my father's grand parents were Armenian from D.Bakir and i never got to see their picture because they were gone, disappeared. i do not hate anybody, because kurds, armenians and all died. Ask to Americans, Canadiens and British Why? not to Turks. Ask westerners see what they say?
I'm sorry but after what the Turks did to the Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians and what they tried to do to the Arabs, how can you expect me to forgive We must not dwell on such issues such as the Armenian Genocide or the Holocaust, but instead keep an eye on Turkey to make sure that they don't do something or encourage hate to other nations ever again! If it seem like they're trying to influence other nations, run and get help immediately! That goes for Iran and Israel as well!
Isabel Bayrakdarian, I am so very proud of you for what you have brought to our old and wonderful culture. I love your songs and your wonderful vigor. I am also a singer and a dramatic soprano though I started later in life. I mentioned at another youtube site that my professor's prof. was Pavarotti's professor. Seervart Kevorkian Kerb'ian.
very nise performance i must say hearing the duduk crying in the background makes you go crazy of what he monsters had done to my people but like the old saying goes dont forget what you did on your way up because you will meet the same people on your way down God Bless Armenia and the god bless the souls of 1.5 million Armenians
we are few but we are The Armenians we are few but we gave more than the others we are few but we are productive we are few but we never been a burden to any country we are few but our voice sounds more than a Billion we are few but our music is being herd all over the Globe
Armenians are very old nationality who survived horrible masscres and tortures. Because of the Armenian Genocide, the Armenians are 8-10 millions all around the world, rather than 50 millions if the Genocide didn't happen from 1915-1923. Thus more than 1.5 millions were barbarically killed. The remnants of the orphans who survived the Genocide are scattered all over the world. One of them is myself, the daughter of a survivor who was orphaned in 1915. For 95 years we haven't had closure yet.
angelic voice great song great performance - this particular rendition with the haunting duduk ensemble absolute ARMENIAN magic. Isabel sounds as great as when I heard her live in London. Pity about the annoying and completely out of place eastern/western Armenian "debate". Also, Isabel please note, Zvartnots is NOT a pagan temple or as old as you think by Armenian standards (i.e. pre Christian). It's in fact a Christian temple from, I think from, 7th century.
@zarmanazan of course, no one has the right to tell that the western armenian is wrong, there are a lot of foreign words in eastern armenian, but western has not many derivations, we should keep it, it is a great language and we should be proud of those armenians that have kept it and speek now in diaspora, this way they have armenian identity with them, think armenian, speak armenian. that's great. Bravo to all of them :)
The ruins of Zvartnots are of an Armenian church built during the 7th century, not a pagan temple (although excavations do indicate that it may have been built on the platform of one).
cool vid Azat!!

great Lebanese soprano

zarmanazan you are right about Gomidas!!
@HexagonalBolts She pronounces the name of the instrument (DUDUK).
What genre is this music? She says: "the sound of' and then a word pronounced: 'Duhduhdook', at 0:23 but I'm not sure what it actually is.
Beautifull ....
with all my respect to all my fellow Armenians across the world- but why the dispute? Let's just shut up , and imbibe the plesure of the performance.
beautifull song..... I love her voice and the ways she interprets the songs
I would say you won. You are clearly more intelligent than the other guy. At least you write a lot better, ha. Just thought I would add my two cents.
bravo qez Isabel jan! menq hpart enq qeznov!
Doesn't the original manuscript also say "VANA DZOVIN" instead of "MASIS SARIN?" Why did they change it to MASIS SARIN? Dajigneren gu vakhnank?
