I don’t ever leave a comment, but this title is so misleading, I needed help choosing a pump. This is just an informative video on how to use a pump and explains parts, DONT WATCH if your actual going based on the title of “how to choose a pump 101.” You have manual, electric, and hospital grade pumps. I really needed help choosing a pump, and needed an informative video on pumps insurance offers and which one might be the best fit for me. Sigh. Waste of time.

I NEED HELP! I'm due in 2 weeks (well scheduled for induction then, not actually due for over a month) and can't decide on a pump. Unfortunately my insurance only covers like 5 pumps and I've ruled out 3 (ones a handpump, one is Ameda which I HATED with previous baby and the Motif Duo), I've narrowed it down to the Motif Luna and the Lansinoh Smartpump 3.0. I need a STRONG suction and I may be exclusively pumping, especially at first as we anticipate a NICU stay, which pump would you recommend?? I've also considered ordering a Spectra S1 or Spectra Synergy Gold out of pocket. Do you think I'll need that with one of the other pumps, whichever you recommend, and if so do you recommend the S1 or the Gold (non-portable)?? TIA!

My insurance only covers so many BPs. Of the options I have I've narrowed it down to the Motif Luna (without battery) and Lansinoh Smartpump 3.0. I may end up EP and I need a strong suction to fully empty. Which one would you recommend? Also, I am almost certainly going to get a Spectra S1 out of pocket if that influences your advice. TIA!!

Hello, My “pump in style” stopped working. The orange membrane inside does move, the motor makes the noise though. How can troubleshoot it?

Thanks for the video. I just ordered mine today. I wanted a handsfree option, but did not have the option through insurance. I ordered the collection cups without really understanding what they were, so this video helps. I appreciate it!

The lactation team at my hospital provided Medela to me and lent it for one week before my Spectra S2 breast pump arrived. So I had experience with both. Both of them work great. Recommended for all. Very easy to use and has great suction. No complain.

Get a prescription from your doctor. Most insurance companies require a doctor's prescription to cover breast pumps.

This video doesn't actually give any advice about choosing a pump other than get an electric pump over a manual one. This video title is a bit misleading as it generalizes what comes in a box but as mentioned it's going to be different looking depending on the product. Honestly, it would be more helpful to watch a 2 hour video that covers the pros and cons of every insurance covered pump so that we can make an informed decision. It's so difficult as a first-time mom to know what the best option is, and it feels like it shouldn't be this complicated. The biggest thing is you only get 1 pump with your insurance, so it's important that you choose correctly the first time as there is no try before you buy or return option.

Wireless breast pumps are often quieter than corded breast pumps, allowing you to express milk comfortably without disturbing others.

I think some women have no problem and even want to show their boobs to anybody who wants to see them. Other women wouldn't dare do it whether breastfeeding or not. Every woman is different. It has nothing to do with age or whether they're breastfeeding.

Do you have recommendations for low noise pumps! First time mom and hubby and I are both active duty military . I want to be able to care for baby and pump while not disturbing my husband too much while sleeping and also when I return to work I can pump and not cause too much noise

Can you suggest a pump for a mail carrier? 😅 what would help with those moms who work outside on the go? Or Maybe something that can empty breast <10 min that has a car charger. Idk if that’s a personal thing or a pump thing. (Maybe one that can hold more that 5oz. just in case you’re a big producer) And which ones are good for exclusive pumping.
