Investing in your channel early, the payoff will be huge. Keep it up dude!
Despite both episodes being panned by many people, I myself have a lot of nostalgia towards these games when I had my iPod touch
this must be the infamous sonic 4 defense force….
RUclips rarely ever recommends me videos with this low of a view count, but I'm glad I watched it. I always kind of disregarded Sonic 4, but after watching this, it actually seems pretty solid. Not perfect, but when has a Sonic game ever been perfect? Even my favorites -- the Sonic Adventure games -- still had some jank to them. Episode 2 even seems like it redeems some of the jank in Episode 1
Finally, I found someone who DOESN'T hate this game with every atom in their body!
great video man, im glad theres someone else that appreciates sonic 4 for what it is instead of just beating a dead horse about its critiques.
how is this only 57 views
It's time to watch a movie that's based on your defeat.
Interesting take, but did you mean to say "Turdy-Two Bit?" Hahahaha <3 Keep the vids coming!
Nai nai nai nai 😂😂😂🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
Ridge Racer V was the last proper Ridge Racer game. The different drifting mechanics and nitro boost feature changed the series drastically from this point on.
Fun fact the announcer is a real life radio dj called ken ayugai
I feel like the next step in playing first person shooters "wrong" is experiencing them in vr.
Touché
FUCKING ILLEGALLY UNDERRATED
I had n64 and friend had ps1, but i think n64 version os better
Ridge Racer V didn't have an Easy mode. In practice, it had Normal, Very Hard, and Painful. Even better, I didn't play this game on an emulator, but instead on a PS2. I lost count of the number of times that I had to start all the way back at the first race of a Grand Prix because the AI is so aggressive and capable of taking a perfect racing line on Painful. Over time, I had memorized every single racetrack in this game so I could get at least 3rd in each race, and I completed all the Duels, too. I believe I might've unlocked the 99 Trials (can't remember. It's been years since I played it). Unfortunately, I never had the patience to get 1st in every race. The only thing that makes RRV easier than F-Zero GX is that car physics are easier for me to understand than hovercraft physics. A car is easier to drive than a hovercraft because at least I feel like I'm connected to the ground, and a car is just more familiar to me than a hovercraft is. Otherwise? Both of these games are 2 of the hardest racing games I've ever played, and it was the intense challenge that made it 10x more satisfying to conquer a Grand Prix in these titles. I doubt we'll ever see F-Zero come back, but I have somewhat more faith in a new Ridge Racer title at some point. Namco Bandai's been returning to some of their old series from their "Namco days", like Klonoa and Mr. Driller.
I own both the N64 and Dreamcast versions. I agree with you, the N64 version absolutely feels better. It doesn't have the high quality music, or videos throughout the levels, but the feel of the game is better on N64.
geg
it was amazing feeling to emulate it on ultrahle back then...btw you sound like tony😂
It was better on Playstation
Sounds like you're having emulation issues. The reason the N64 version felt better might be because it was running faster than it was supposed to on original hardware
this made me pre a little bit
what prog rock is in thps 1? :P
It's always insane when people (even professional journalists) say the PS1 had better graphics. And they always say it's because of the extra space in the CDs... LOL. The CDs allowed for better sound and CGI/FMV video. But that's about it. They had nothing to do with graphics or even content, and N64 ports always looked far superior and had much better framerate.
I think it depends on someones view of good graphics and the details within them. Both consoles had their strengths and weaknesses because they both looked distinctively different. N64 ran true 3d better and had no draw distance problems and didn't have warping going on. Ps1 had better color palletes better character models and textures game to game. It all depends on what you like really. Some people like the blurry look of the n64, some people like the bad draw distance the ps1 for "atmospheric effect" that it gives games. Even though it wasn't done for effect rather the fact that the console had limitations 😂
The crispy music added character
Wrong, just flat out wrong.
Dreamcast version is way more superior than the other's and I grew up playing it on the N64.
They should make an MSU Everdrive 64 to make Tony Hawk Pro Skater the perfect version
Big portion of this video is just pc stuff
The dreamcast version is heavier because of Vsync probably. The PS1 version will be comparable to the n64 version if you increased the emulated CPU clock speed.
Great analysis.
3:18 my brother in Christ, the only 64 thing that the N64 had was the name. Also, the possibility to do 64bit floats in the CPU, which is remarkably pointless.
Using emulation as a basis to differentiate console versions of a game...is a choice.
Great video, my dude!
Tony Hawk 2X is feeling so left out.
Now that N64 games can be decompiled you can get a native version on PC running at 4k 120 fps
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I personally stick by the Dreamcast ports for Spider-Man and Tony Hawk being my go to. The Dreamcast controller unfortunately have globally deteriorated over time, and literally out of service 😅 unless you find one in almost new or mint condition which is nearly impossible these days. The snapback method of the analog poorly aged, although I really enjoy the speed of the analog and how it moves.... it just doesn't meet up with the snapback technique very well when it comes to preserving it for the next generations post the console's release. It can be a little bit problematic playing Sonic Adventure with an analog stick like that. But when my console was fresh, I had endless hours of fun playing THPS and Jet Set Radio along with MvC2 as well as both Sonic games, Project Justice and Power Stone 1&2. Spider-Man too being one of my top 5 games on the system with Cannon Spike. I like the N64 version too actually, but Dreamcast wins for me
“There’s really no reason to rely on what’s built into the game” is where all logic went completely out the window lol wtf
extreme g music in the background
no cap I really love the Nokia N-gage port, i think it responds better....
I honestly felt the same about the game. I grew up with the N64 version, years later i tried to play the PS1 version because i thought they were the same and i just didn't feel it. Something was off. Going back to the N64 version i realized i wasn't insane, got baited by nostalgia or whatever. They are just different in some ways.
andythps
Oh boy this is the worst video about THPS i ever seen. Unless youre using a school potato PC theres absolutely no reason on any emulator reason other than you dont know what you are doing. And if you are then there is no reason to play the N64 version other than nostalgia, specially THPS1 since the game always has been considered clunky lmao Nowadays emulation lets you configure the experience however you want, the PS1 is the most advanced emulation out there with Duckstation where every problem you cited about the graphics is removed. And using yt to replace the music is the shittiest way of doing things tbh
Well, yeah. Because it is the best version....
Then you got portable emulator players... and n64 don't play friendly and harder with those, but somehow ps1 play easier and smoother.
Wow, literally almost every thing said in this video was pulled out of your ass. Console fanboys are losers. I'll admit I am somewhat partial to the PS1 for that generation, but I have the critical thinking skills to point out that the Dreamcast version is obviously best. The only things wrong with the Dreamcast port are: A) it's Dreamcast, who has a Dreamcast? And B) There does not appear to be a widescreen hack for the Dreamcast version (although no version has widescreen built in, so I don't think that should be counted against it).
Lol what kind critical thinker acts like an arrogant you sound like fanboy yourself if you said that you think the dream cast version is the best without insulting the dude you know like with weak arguments do I whould take your comment seriously It's like a debate instead of focusing on the subject your trying to show how much better your are and who say they are a critical thinker to being with it funny you took the whole thing personally like he insulted you or something is this how this fanbase is if so what a fanbase
Preparing to hear garbage take... Please wait...
I remember playing the n64 version at a friend's house and i hated how it didn't show the music videos on the school level lol
Tony Hawk pro skater 3 is a perfect game
