The basis of the video has some logic but the tools (spurs and nasty bit) need rethinking. I have a farm full of rescues that have been trained (tortured) with spurs and nasty curb bits - reiners, and other "push button" disciplines that got about 2 years of productive work in before their limbs gave out and they were sent to the feedlot. Ever put a bit in your own mouth? I have. Someone ever come up to you without warning and jab you in the sides with a spur? I don't think you would appreciate it. I can train a near sliding stop in a halter and train horses to do everything I need without resorting to pain......in fact, most horses will bond deeply to a receptive owner if you pay attention, and respond very well to kindness in training and a treat believe it or not......they learn mostly by repetition......plus all my horses are highly productive into their 20s and beyond and a joy to be around in the pasture....they never run from me (and I don't use treats to "catch" them).

i hate a 16hh solid black gelding around the age of 15-16 and im a cowgirl and im also a veterinarian and when i ride him he rides goods but once my brother or someone else gets on him and im not leading he bucks a little not bad and he rears up a little off the ground i havent rid him in a while because of the harsh cold weather but can you make a video of how to get him to stop and how to get him to before gently with everyone im around 5'3-5'4 and he is very tall compared to me and im 16 years old i know a lot about animals and horse but i need help on this certain problem i just dont know what to do anymore i want him to become very gentle and not me afraid of anything and he hates railroads and he not really spooky ill say but once he see something he focuses on it for a while can you help me please Fred Thomsson
