I stayed at this bungalow after you- what was the biggest bream that you caught? I only fish this during the day, despite the boats I was catching 20 to 30 skimmers in about three hours. I have caught a 8lb bream here and a 3Lb 4oz perch. But the bigger bream have disappeared. You rarely get them over 2lb now. I’m already booked in for next year. June and September we’ve had these dates for the last 25 years.You should write in the visitors book to help other anglers who come to fish here.

I put out a bed of corn, and then fish groundbait feeder using liquidised bread put in the feeder dry. Bait is either corn or worms, sometimes bread. There used to be some really big bream here, but they haven’t shown for the last few years. Why didn’t you write in the visitors book?

That was a good tip with the milk in the cup first. As you say the tea goes all scummy with the Norfolk water. I forgot to say, all the big bream are caught very close in. You were fishing three quarters across the river. The big ones are just a quarter way out from your own bank. Most of the fish come on corn, but the big 8 lb fish was caught with maggots on my float line. I was float fishing when the swim went dead. I put on a maggot feeder and dropped it to where I was fishing when the big one took it. You rarely catch any big bream while float fishing. On the first boat peg. I caught 40 perch on worms in just an hour on the whip the other day. This peg also has produced huge catches of bream in the past close in using corn on pole or whip.

I don’t put out ground bait - I always lay out the bottom with just corn. I always fish groundbait feeder filed with liquidised bread put in the feeder dry and use corn or bread over over the bed of corn. The results doing this have been staggering. Over my holiday I would expect to catch at least 30 bream over 2lbs. With many 4lb fish. The best bream that I caught there was 8lb- I’ve also caught a 3Lb 4oz. Perch on bread.
