Blows my mind that you do all this with an apply watch on your wrist 😂
Whys the top hole plugged off n mines not. Mine has a whole heater hose w shtty plastic leaky quick connect
Clean enuf to go in the trash now lol jk, great video, and great save on the cheap. New sub!
What is the hole on the water pump for ?
Thank you for posting this. I had a leaking freeze plug on the driver side front of the block behind the power steering pump along with the water pump/thermostat. Had to loosen the whole rack with all the pullied items and bend it out the way to put the rubber twist style freeze plug back in.
Dude, i didnt even know they made rubber ones. Now i can stop the coolant leaking from my van down by the river
Bro 4 years later your still saving lives hell bro these stupid mofos wouldn’t show how to take the clutch fan at all and bro this is actually the best information I have gotten on replacing parts for my 1991 s10 that I found abandoned at the ranch I work for hell they are selling me the truck for 300$
Whats that on the bolts? Blue stuff Is that gasket maker?
Thanks for sharing
Great vid these things are extremely expensive to buy new
lol he skipped a stop cause how did he get those bolts lose when the pulley spins
Is that a reverse flow water pump with pulley set up?
What size bit did you use to drill out the whole for the bolts?
Is grinding down the bolts the only way to remove them you can’t remove them with a wrench? Or socket?
Torque setting for the bolts?
Of just the pulley is making noise and theres no leak can i just replace the pulley?
Thumbs down for letting that antifreeze run all over the ground... that's not cool man 👎
You could’ve put the fan on after you did the belt
No frills straight to the point best video I have seen in awhile
Well don’t do this…. I ruined mine… lmao 😂
Waiting for the parts now, my 93' K2500 Suburban is getting a new pump and a 4 core aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Will help it out a bunch in the 100+ degree days here in Arizona.
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. Mine is faded and oxidized enough there are only spots of black left on the lettering. I used Brillo pads for the first pass, just rubbing with no pressure while keeping it well lubed with water. Had to go over it several times. Then I used rubbing compound, followed by polish, followed by wax. I did not polish or wax inside the lettering because I plan to mask and spray paint. The ribbon now looks pretty fantastic and I think this was less painful than removing and replacing would have been.
You have to put sealant on the gaskets?
Thank you I changed my mine no problem great video
Nice
Looks like you put some blue material on the gaskets and the two upper screws, but no mention of the material or how you applied it, nor if you allowed it to get tacky. How much torque on the four bolts? I am hoping for no leaks, so these details are important.
if you still have the truck you have a severe under voltage issue with your charging system. voltage should be reading just above 14Vdc
What brand water pump did u go with I see them priced anywhere from 40$-130$ not sure what to go with
Nice! Need to remove both steering pump, water pump & A/C compresor in order to clean the block from an oil leak from the manifold gasket. Think there Would be trouble if water pressure goes into those water pump holes into the block?
Very nicely produced guide, but I have one criticism. I'm mostly looking to compare how everyone handles their gaskets and RTV (some say just RTV, some combine the two, some swear by just gaskets), and you skipped over that part entirely.
You skipped a few steps … so no not a complete…help….
Never use steel wool on aluminum bud... IF you MUST, use 0000 wool.
State the size of sockets, don't get in a hurry. Aside of that, its like a blind date.
Short, sweet, and to the point. Thanks!
Loved this
Great video, but the awful music ruins it and makes it so we can't hear you
He literally turned the music down while he was talking. Lol. I heard him just fine.
. It is awful music and destroys what could gave been a great video
Cool to know , I'm getting my first chevy pickup (95) and that is faded and the letters are as well , thanks
I wish I could just remove the bed from my 94 G20 sheesh
Great Job Guys. 👍🏾
I got a leak right in the front center gonna try replacing this and hoses around hoping to fix the leak
Sorry Buddy, that may be for '88 to '94. '95 and up are different.
Nicely done fellas!! A good refresher video before tackling mine. Thanks for posting.
Annoying music and not much description and no bolt sizes making the video uninformative
Thanks, Bro, for your time and the work you put into it.
I would love to sell this guy a truck. If that's a "straight body" I need customers like that. That truck is a parts truck. GLWT
quick to the chase!!!
No bullsh it was straight to the point
MAKE MORE VIDEOS!!
oh wow i have a 97 silverado the plate hasn't been cleaned since 1997 i'm sure , going to try this tomorrow Thanks 😀
Good video, watched before replacing my 1994 5.7L which had totally failed breaking the belt and dumping coolant on the ground. Couple of things I ran into to be prepared for -- I was worried about 30 year old water pump bolts coming out, they came out no problem but only one of the four 1/2 inch drive 14 mm sockets I had would fit the narrow opening around the bolt head so check that before you start. The four bolts holding the fan on looked in good shape and didn't think they would be a problem so of course they were. One came right out, another after some work, the last two no luck. Had sprayed all them ahead of time, tried smacking wrench with hammer many times, then vice grips and smacking harder, then heating them. The last two would never budge and ended up cutting them off with a hacksaw blade (cut the nut down the side so you can get the stud out). The threads are M8x1.25 and I used get bolts to replace the studs/nuts for those two as no parts store anywhere near. If you are putting on a new lower radiator hose, my radiator end spring clamp was not accessible until I pulled the radiator free (you don't need to disconnect the trans lines, just move the radiator over a bit). My truck very common build, Delco GM part number for pump 252-719, belt 6K966/88932795, and lower hose 26207X 88908904.
I lowered mine 3/4 and it sits just like yours, what is the ratio to get it level 3/5?
A 2/4 drop makes it sit level but I would just save some cash for a 5/8 drop kit
