Wow ! Excellent Bach idiom counterpoint. The completion of the BWV 573 fragment was very well done, although perhaps some parts of the 1st half moved ahead from the existing exposition in a not totally characteristic way. The 2nd half , is certainly a very interesting development, sort of contrasting flight of fantasy which proceeds quite naturally from the 1st half, is one of the better pieces I have heard composed in the syle of Bach !

Gorgeous playing. I recently found and have subscribed to this channel. I discovered Bach organ music from E. Power Biggs recordings on the Harvard University instrument , built by D.A. Flentrop in 1958. (The Holy Name Catholic Cathedral here has a 1991 Flentrop). From Chicago, U.S.A.

I played part of this for my organ teacher (90 years old, a former student of Anton Heiller and Gustav Leonhardt) and he said Bart Jacobs plays beautifully. High praise. I'm sure we'll be listening to the whole thing soon.

Bravo. Met enorm veel verbazing bekeken en vooral beluisterd dat iemand zoiets al improviserend, compleet met dubbel pedaal uit zijn mouw schudt... niet alleen maar verbijsterend knap maar ronduit zeer verwonderlijk... alsof het uitgeschreven muziek betreft...

I got distracted by the vid on top of your playlist. The Eb! So why not this before--I expect--a Nun Komm on two cantabile 8' Flentrop fluits brought together by coupling a best match into the Hauptwerk... with a perfect 16' and 8' principal in the bass. C'mon a guy from across the pond can dream, right? ❤

Someone asked here in one of the comments below: "why in socks"? - well, would you expect gloves on the hands while playing on the manuals? - maybe it is done so because the performer feels more sensitivity while playing on the foot-pedals, than with those stern-looking, not smiling, black pointed shoes. Anyway, the listeners in the church don't see the performer's feet, but I do recommend though suit and tie, when he bows (while standing up there) towards the public :) and he did have them, by the way.

This is an excellent performance. The interpretation, the registration, it feels danced, and the different voices can be appreciated in their own. Perfect!

I think he could easily stand in for Marchand in that famous duel against Bach in 1717. But who would win?
