You are a life saver! Just got an 05 Vette and those lights kept coming on. Did what you said and she hasn't dropped below 14.2 yet. Thanks alot brother.
Really helpful video. I've never cleaned or maintained this grounding point because I really didn't know where it was. I haven't had any problems with the ABS or traction control but I think your approach is going to go a long way to avoiding those problems. Thanks!
I had replaced my battery cables a few years ago and had a problem with service active handling and would not shift out of park. I removed the same heavy wire and cleaned coating on wire and also other ground with 2 wires and cleaned and replaced. Both problems so far have gone away. Kind of a stupid place to ground under a battery that will leak acid onto that location. Hope that helps as this was a good start to address and easy fix.
I made this video several years ago and the problem has never returned. If you disconnect this ground you get an immediate "service active handling". These cars have many issues with other grounds also.
@@door2416 Most helpful. When I brought my car back for this problem I watched as they worked on that side of the car. I thank you more than you can imagine as I would not have looked there as the cause. Unless you have a scanner and can trace the open ground you are raped by the stealership. Thank you.
My 08 z51 had power cut out completely when I would try to start it. Changed spark plug wires and spark plugs because they had white buildup on the connectors and have not had that issue since. Active handling stays on and voltage creeps down
Sorry I don't. It took me a long time to find this one as it started as an intermitten problem. I also know that there are other reasons for these codes other than grounds.
I made that video about a year and a half ago and still problem free. The dealer had the car for over a week under warranty and couldn't find the problem. (probably didn't want to spend the time looking) Good luck and let me know.
I’m going to give this a try my c6 has been given me issues while in drive my voltage goes under 13 and my clusters goes out my stereo screen goes off and on and my security light comes on.. does any one had the same problem. I’m just a new corvette owner and I’m trying to find out a little bit more about this vehicles I love my c6...........
I don' t think that this is your problem because when I would completely disconnect this ground and start the car it would not effect the stereo or cluster.
Yah this is a good point. I have a ZR1, so it may be in another location, but I have had some occasional and often very scary Service Active Handling Gremlins when I am driving the car on the track.
I know there could be other reasons to set off the Service Active Handling but this solved mine and it hasn't come back. I can disconnect this ground and start the car and it goes back to low voltage and SAH mode.
I don't know if this is my issue, but it's a great first step to check out. Is that wire supposed to be connected to anything, or just free floating like that?
That wire is grounded to the frame. I had it disconnected to clean the rust off. I'm sure there are other reasons to get SAH but this is free and easy to check.
It certainly fixed mine and what do you have to loose. It only takes about 20 minutes and costs zero. I know there are probably more reasons to get these messages but why not try this first. I know that when I leave this ground off and start the car it automatically brings up these symptoms.
Glad to have helped. I even took mine to the dealer under warranty and they either couldn't find it or didn't want to spend the time on it.( no hard codes)
Thank you kind sir for sharing this info.
Thanks for the info 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This video is like 3 years old and I haven't had anymore issues.
Thank you for the tip! This may be my issue.
Hope it works for you. At least it is a good place to start.
I’m getting intermittent “service active handling” too… just cleaned the two grounds and will see if this does this trick 🤞

That video is a few years old and mine is still running strong. Glad it helped and welcome to the Vette club.
Mine also says service traction system. Would this also help?
Can this cause my c6 to turn off while driving ? No codes
No . the car will run with this ground disconnected but will show service active handling and a low voltage on your dash.

Thank you !
glad to have helped.
You are great 👍
I know it's not the only thing that causes this problem but it is easy to check and cost nothing to try. It solved the problem on my grand sport.
Thank you so much

can u do a video on why there is no interior power i have 2008 c6 z51
My 08 z51 had power cut out completely when I would try to start it. Changed spark plug wires and spark plugs because they had white buildup on the connectors and have not had that issue since. Active handling stays on and voltage creeps down
I have told many times to Vette owners " clean up grounds and connectors it can save you a lot of money and time "
I did the fix but my volts keeps fluctuating. I’m starting to think it is the swps
I'm checking this on my 13 conv vette October 2021 .thx bro
You are very much appreciated
The battery is not in the back on a manual. It’s the same as an automatic. Good information thanks
My mistake, I should have said Grand Sport, ZO6, and ZR1 manuals. (dry sump)
Thank you it worked
Really helpful. I drive a manual and did not know there were grounds there.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video friend! You just saved me $1000 that the dealership wanted to charge me!
Thanks, solved my issue.
What if it’s a c6 z06
So the grounds are just loose laying there ?
No they are not just laying there. I took them off to clean the rust off. Hope it solves your problem. It took care of mine and it hasn't returned.
Thanks a lot!!!!!
Thank you for sharing with us, do you know where any of the other grounds in the car are located?
Sorry I don't. It took me a long time to find this one as it started as an intermitten problem. I also know that there are other reasons for these codes other than grounds.
Go under neath and there should be another ground right above the starter
Thanks bro 👍🏼 I’ve had the same problems as U have and now I’ll check out this on my car. Thanks again 😊👏🏼

Brother we owe you a BIG one!
Thank you sir
Thanks for showing the grounds. I wonder if this my problem.

Thanks man, i have a c5 auto thats been doing that and i couldnt figure it out for the life of me what it was but i have ground issues too.
Glad to have helped. I even took mine to the dealer under warranty and they either couldn't find it or didn't want to spend the time on it.( no hard codes)
