I love your videos... I hope you post a new one soon! :)
Been there. Bring a camera.
Park looks beautiful
It is. Go in the fall!
You don’t have to replace your watch than just replace the battery
I love Caumsett , I used to walk there all the time, winter, spring, and summer and fall. It's so beautiful! I was friends with the park manager Duke, sadly he died in I believe 2007. He was the nicest man! I 'm not living on LI now, I moved away 5 years ago next month, but ohhh, I can't wait to move back home and live on LI, I miss it every day. When I go back home for good, I'll start walking at Caumsett again.
This is not Katerskill fall. Come on. Don’t mislead people
It is it’s just depends on the day when there more water
Beautiful video. I was born and raised on LI and lived there until 2019, I miss it sooo much, I love LI and the people too! I look forward to moving back home someday, I've missed it everyday since I left. I used to go to various parks and beaches. One park I loved going to was Caumsett State Park in Lloyd Neck. It was there that I saw a pretty special thing concerning Piping Plovers. They have cordoned off protected areas for them there. So I was walking on the beach below the fenced off areas when I saw what looked like a small cotton ball on skinny legs, it was a teeny tiny bird, I was just enchanted, suddenly I heard squawking, and the tiny bird just blended in with the sand. I looked to my left to see an adult Piping Plover with what looked like a broken wing and it was squawking away, I watched it, but it took off, I looked back and couldn't see the tiny bird. Then days later Newsday did a piece on Piping Plovers and too funny, the author wrote that the Mother, to protect the baby from predators will feign having a broken wing and will squawk hoping to attract the predator so it will ignore the baby and go after her and once the baby is hidden it will run or fly away. That was so cool!
Are there sharks here?
I don’t think so. We didn’t see any and there are no warnings there about sharks.
@@hikingthroughnyty for responding! 🙏🏽
@stizsantosa of course. Go check out that park.
That water was crystal clear when I was a young boy in the 1970's.
Good job 👏 👍
I am from Port Washington but never come to this park, is anyone not resident can come? Do we need to pay to enter the park?
Sorry for the delay I didn’t see this comment. Yes, anyone can come and you do have to pay to enter. I attached the fees below from their website. parks.ny.gov/parks/connetquotriver
@@hikingthroughny they don't charge in the winter though,
How can I book it
getaway.house/?booking=true&adults=2&kids=0&beds=1&dog=false
Here is the link. Its called “getaway”
❤👍👍
Do you have bathrooms here to change or shower? And do you have ocean/beach walk? How much i can expect to spend?
It’s a park. It’s not a beach. Great walking trails but no ocean. There is a restroom but not for changing your clothes.
And a nature preserve mostly,
Thank you it was helpful ❤
You guys are great videographers 😊thank you this was lovely!
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
Really beautiful video very well done thank you!😊
I come here a lot. It’s actually so much bigger than most people know. There are multiple other sets of trails on the opposite side of the park from where you went.
Beautiful!!
Can you ride a bike here?
No. No bikes, pets or picnics. parks.ny.gov/parks/calebsmith#:~:text=Prohibited%20Activities%3A%20Smoking%2C%20Pets%2C,and%20Picnics%20are%20not%20permitted.
My compass on my watch and on my phone show different. My watch has a magnetic band but even when i take it completely off it shows something different. Any way to find out which one is right?
Awesome. Been there often. Great video. Beautiful.
Four generations of my family have enjoyed walking the grounds/trails of the Arboretum. This is truly one of the most stunning places I have ever been. Now that they have even included the upstairs house tour, something I just dreamed about when I was a child, it is even more magical. I now enjoy it with my grandchildren and hope they pass it on😍
Se necesita un plan celular para usar la función en el Apple Watch ?
No. The “gps” version of the watch is paired to your phone. It’s not necessary for the Watch itself to have a cellular plan but you do need a cell phone.
Very much obliged already subscribed will visit tomorrow as early as 6am🫡
Wait till you go to chinatown.
Great video we are always there. Barbecuing didn’t know they had such a great trail. What is the actual name of the trail?
The Hudson River overlook trail
You did A Great Job on your tiny camper 🥰
Good tip dude 😎
Are corgis allowed?
I’m pretty sure any dog is allowed.
Cool small. Love this ❤
Cool video!👍
Beautiful
How is this ‘camping’?
It has wheels I guess
That's my neighborhood trash spreader!!!!
I went with my family to Quogue every summer. It's been 40 years but it seems like 100 years ago. My Dad had a shore house there. Fun times, thanks.
Nice! How long does it take to hike up from bottom to the top of the mountain?
That depends on you. The best I ever did was about 45 min. If I’m going slow more like and hour fifteen or an hour and a half.
Always great after a storm!
i have the app but there is no buttons in the bottom left or right corner, i just got my watch yesterday and its a apple watch 8
Can you send me a picture of what you see? When you open the Compass app there should be a button on the bottom left and the bottom right.
@@hikingthroughny hi it’s me again. i just see a compas with white and orange. idk how to send a picture lol but there just is not buttons on the bottom. there’s only one in the top left corner and it’s the 3 lines. also the compass app is not there on the little app grid and i don’t have the sleep app so maybe i don’t have it updated or something and it says it’s up to date in setting so yeah.
Try to send me a picture so I can see what you see.
Make sure your software its up to date
@@Epik_Luckyou need to turn on back track mode
I have the app on my watch, but it doesn’t have the drop…this was my fav thing for a long time on the early Apple Maps.
What do you mean? There is no icon in the bottom left corner?
Theres one in Nissequogue I just found that has amazing trails and beach
Was there Saturday at 5 am it was beautiful. Great shot
Thats good info I appreciate that you mentioned this 👍 ty
They are all over that mountain its pretty cool but intense
More like humans on the trail!
Yes. Very true.
App name please
It’s the compass app on the Apple Watch
I grew up near Bear Mountain. Beautiful 💙
We love it up there. We’ve stayed at the hotel before and the cabins. We’ve been going up there for years.
You really need to learn how to raise your speaking mic up when you are speaking and turning your music down when you aren't speaking, The balance between them hurts the ears. Looks like a nice place to visit though.
Ok. We’ll work on it.
Beautiful 😍
