Best Art Scene in Los Angeles: Bergamot Station
Amazing history, memorabilia, and such a peaceful place. Sad to see it consumed by the flames :(
I sadly never got to go there
Stunning!
Good voice commentary for a video. A lot of voices these days are over the top, fake or just annoying. This voice is more traditional, much better for viewing and listening. Thank you.
Greetings from Southern California to our friends in Oklahoma. We always appreciate Will Rogers and his contributions to our nation’s history. He was a thoughtful and gentle man. Somehow it’s sadly befitting that part of his legacy has stolen from us before we fall into a dark period of falsehoods and ugly attacks. I’m confident that Will Rogers would have no use for narcissistic sociopath.
You didn't say anything about Errol Flynn ? The name Mulholland Drive has been referred to since the 40's regarding debauchery, lewd behavior because Flynn built up a reputation of wild parties and was convicted of rape .
I grew up not far from the Ranch. It was an amazing place. I visited so often growing up that I memorized all the details of the extraordinary collections of art, memorabilia, the unique Monterey furniture, Native American textiles and so much more. It made such a lasting impression that I chose to decorate my home in a similar fashion by collecting similar objects to mimic the Ranch interiors. Heartbreaking to see the devastating results the fires created. I will miss not being able to visit the Ranch. The results of the fire have left thousands of people without their homes. Having a tuff time wrapping my head around the horrific circumstances. The town I grew up in almost completely erased. If you are able to donate any dollar amount to help someone effected by the Palisades fire and the Eaton fire please do what you can.
Took a trip out to LA a few days before Christmas, one of the main things I wanted to do was go to the park. I hiked around the trail, watched the video they had playing on loop in the smaller house, and generally hung out. Sad to see it gone but happy I was able to visit.
Keep Olvera st. Going for years to come!!! Love the Taquitos and the hand blown glass figurines and Mexican candy, furniture, Sombreros,, dances.
Complete healing zone. It's so peaceful there. Miss it very much in my life.
I went several years ago. So sad to hear of this loss.
A sad loss. I wonder if it is conceivable that the house could be rebuilt and an happy that they were able to remove a lot of the items inside.
Prayers for HOLLYWOOD
The Avila house built 1818 1st house in Los Angeles. My family Ancestors.❤ They were in the cattle business.Very Wealthy.😊❤
You know the people that own the dome probably could have put new light bulbs in their sign where they had burned out before this was made.
My mother and I went to it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world the week that it opened. We had many enjoyable times at the Dome. They would often set up scenes about the movie outside to the right. I've got pics of the battle of the bulge scent and grand prix. They also had water fountains on either side. I'm so happy to see it saved. I recently heard that it went belly up. I hope that it's not true.
It closed in 2020 and is still closed today (Jan 2025)
So sad to hear about the complete devistation and loss of this historic ranch,,,sadly, never visited
Caight on fire 2025 sad news
What a sad time for Hollywood hills and Mulholland !
Yes 😢😢
💋
💋
1.48.. You call that a reward?
Lmao 😂😂
The last time I was in LA was the first time I was ever on Mulholland and we only got as far as the first overlook. Then we realized we needed to get to the airport and that was not going to be the fastest way. My flight was later than my friend's But unfortunately by then we were in her rental car. And I wouldn't wanted to do it alone anyway. And I really couldn't because then I would have had to take her down to the airport and come back up. Sadly I don't think I'll be going to LA again. The last time I had dental work it costs three times would it cost me to spend four or five days in LA including airfare. And then there's those flying tin cans of COVID in the sky where they couldn't jam you together any tighter. I miss LA. And I've never really been to San Diego. Just to the zoo. Twice I think. I have a thing for koalas. But they're always asleep. Perhaps I should have gotten there in the evening? I don't know when they're awake. I used to have a bunny. They are crepuscular. But I don't know about marsupials. It doesn't really matter. There's a zoo in Tampa which also has koalas. But I'm not really a fan of zoos. On the other hand I would probably have a better shot at hitting the right climate. Not having to plan so far in advance. Still, there are so many things to see in LA - including the mountains. Florida is so flat. But I'm from Boston and the first time I went to LA we drove from Virginia and out route 10 I think. The first time I saw the mountains was in Albuquerque. They were amazing! We went to the Grand canyon just because a friend was going. I still wish we had stopped around Sedona. I like red rocks. I just don't want to climb them.
Great to know
Wheres all the traffic?
On ground level 😂
Nearer to downtown LA
Low end tacky. Hundreds of millions of items to overwhelm anyone with a taste for genuine style.
Excellent! I love the downtown library & its history. The art alone is so incredible. I didn't realize they gave docent tours - I'll definitely have to check that out!
Modern virtual sets are kind of cinerama. If they put the audience in the middle of the screen, it might still be a hit.
just imagine if WW2 never happened .........and the french went on from here in their car industry 🤯
Good place to see beautiful women..they should have a place for the men to hang out while their lady's shop..
from what I see from this video, places are trash! no fashion, just trash.
Excellent video! You had some history that I didn't know about. When I first moved to LA, I used to go to the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel and admire all the historical photos on the 2nd floor. But they've removed all that history now! The inside is still beautiful to see, though -- I love the tiled steps up to the 2nd floor, and the detail on the ceiling is beautiful. But I do miss the historical photos!
windows in dining room, through which you cannot see outside while standing... - and why is this good?
So Beautiful! Los Olivos has grown since 1984 when I lived there.
At 2;14: King Tuts tomb was discovered in 1922 (not 1920).
We’re going there today! ❤ Archangel Gabriel, Pray for Us!
Its a beautiful day, enjoy your visit!
Immediately closed. I'm sure some of the children or grandchildren would have appreciated the opportunity
Its a shame that they elected to close one of the best auto museums around.
Some people believe gas cars are going to disappear soon, but the way things are going, it looks like eclectic cars are going to end up in massive junk yard lol
No matter, these are still beautiful example of automotive art.
It a perfect example of what human creativity and imagination can come true
A wonderful collection of moveable art!
Honestly people... dont waist your time doing this... its must a very busy road with houses....... The views you see are just concrete..lots of concrete.... Overall I found LA to be disgusting...... if you like driving in heavy traffic with rude people and down and outs this is it... Hollywood was also a shit hole.. not dissimilar to Leicster square in London... Avoid them at all costs.... Did I mention the traffic situation? fare too many people..
Every major city has heavy traffic
There was never a "Camino real" during mission times, that myth was created to expand automobile tourism in the early 1900s
Another great expose.. great background music and sound effects as well..🤙
I remember going to Travel Town with my family when I was younger i Loved getting the Hot Wax Gorilla before going Home.
Travel Town is kind of a right of passage that many, many remember as a highlight of their early childhood.
Anyone Remember "Weber's Saloon"?
Great video boss
Thanks! We're working on part Two, detailing Mulholland to the beach.
Love it. Many Hollywood tour vans will do this tour too.
Great video. Very informative👍
Excellent place to visit and suggest people visit when in the area. It shows and has captured the history of so many of us who grew up in the SFV.
I want to go to California so bad! This is great! I live in New York City and I’m just so tired of it! It’s funny once I started playing GTA I became interested in visiting California!😂
the best collection of the World, thank you
Shame Los Angeles became Hollywoodish, which is fake. This here is the ambiance of Mexico . San Antonio has this too in a larger scale.
It Anglo guilt for ignoring the past.
