DIY Active H-Shifter - The Forces

Finally the beta testing units are close to completion. This is a little demonstration of the forces required to move the shifter. Rubber band science included. Rename your DIY Game Controller
Просмотров 3,3 тыс.5 лет назад
In this video I show how to rename your Arduino based game controller. I have 3 Arduino Pro Micro controllers in my simulator, all with the same name. Games freaked out not knowing which controller is which (pedal, shifter, buttonbox). I had to search for a way to differentiate my game controllers. (Pro micro and Leonardo share the same firmware, so it's interchangeable.) SimHub software is req...
DIY Sim Rig with Forza Horizon 4 (GIMX adapter)
Просмотров 4,4 тыс.5 лет назад
Forza Horizon 4 is nearly impossible getting to work with anything other than off the shelf mass produced brand wheel sets. Recently I stumbled upon GIMX, a software that saved my dream. You can buy a $30 adapter from them, but there is also a DIY option, for which I had all the parts scattered in my home. blog.gimx.fr/ It requires 2 extra USB ports which I don't have, due to all my sim rig stu...

I went to a local laser cutting company and they gave me a quote for what would be one base side part and two steering wheel side parts for €57!!!, which I accepted and it is already in production. Thank you very much for sharing the files and the entire channel. It would be too much to ask for a list of the necessary screws, it would make my job much easier and I already ask for everything If it is not possible, do not worry and I reiterate my thanks.
Thank you very much for the contribution, my question is since I am asking for quotes, is there any reason for the star part to be made of mild steel and not stainless steel like the rest of the project?
@@ManuFidalgo there is no reason. I think that was the only material they had in that thickness at the time. :)
I cant tell you how long ive been wanting to see someone use the Bash Pro on a truck sim. How has the shifter been ETS2?
@@mariomorgan6480 I've been using it for years on ETS2. It works the same way in ATS. Somehow I never posted a video of it until now. Even the SCS is not aware of how amazing their games feel with it :D
You said the price would be below 400. How come this is now 1000 bucks.
@@mahmudistiaq It started as a DIY project. The first prototypes did sell for that much. Then years passed by, with inflation and all, this is where this ended up. I really wish to make an alternative available for a lower price bracket.
Köszönöm szépen, uram.

Wait, are you the inventor of the BASH Pro shifter? 😮
@@Gorilla_Jones Yes. :)
Do you have the PCB layout in the correct scale? If not, what is the space between adjacent holes 2.54mm (0.1")?
does that car use a dogbox irl?
Have anyone tried this for fanatec csl brake? Its eats 5 vdc and there is somekind of hall sensor by it own.
wow, even the logitech driver recognize the load cell as its own. i have 50kgs i stole from my luggage weighing, im gonna use it along with hx711 on 80hz and arduino nano. maybe ill try to find out how to make it recognizable by logitech profiler. edit: i cant make it to work with profiler, i have to add some code to use more axis at the same time because some game cant detect the brake. im going with this route, ina122pa. thanks.
Tetszett, kipróbálom!
Hi there just wondering is there a particular reason why you made a steel plate to mount to the original pedal surface? Couldn't you just drill holes and mount the load cell to the pedal without the steel plate?
Also is that 3mm and 5mm steel? Thanks
Hi. I tried to avoid drilling any original parts. I think it was 4mm steel.
Okay fair enough. Thanks for the info
Hi so I've made a pcb and wired everything up with the components that you listed. I'm using a 3.3v supply and when i test the load cell i have 2.8v on the output regardless of the load applied. I've adjust the 1k trim pot to both ends and that doesn't make a difference to the output voltage. The voltages on each pin on the 1na122pa chip are: 1 - 0v, 2 - 1.6v, 3 - 1.6v, 4 - 0v, 5 - 0v, 6 - 2.8v, 7 - 3.3v, 8 - 0v. Any ideas as to what may be wrong? Thanks
@@dalep54321 Hi. Hard to tell. Could be a couple of things. Try with a 5v supply. Or try swapping the load cell wire order. Make sure pin 5 is connected to ground. Might even be that your chip is dead. Seen some cheap knockoffs arriving dead. AD627 is a good alternative for the Ina122

hey quick question what amplifier is that you are using?
INA122 or AD627. Both are good.

Очень интересно, ничего не понятно, что внутри данного механизма, что переключает, так то вроде внешне всё как обычно, а вот что внутри, почему я вижу только два концевика.
Hi there, I'm just getting into sim racing and obviously would love to get a nice DD wheel and set of load cell pedals etc etc. But that will take a few months of saving .. Till then I'd love to try an idea I have using a loadcell and was wondering, 1- the chip you used is a INA122P that you used, did it need any modification besides using a Pot Variable Resistor with it.. And what POT did you use, if you could give its values be grate.. And did you notice any problems etc that you would change or did change.. PS I just noticed there are other vids in your Ch about the pedal and load cell, I will watch them too.. Many thanks if you read this and can reply !!
Hi there. You can wire up everything based on the datasheet of the ina122 chip. The pot used is the 3296w-1-102. The chip doesn't need any programming. It's plug&play.
In line for this one. Know when it will start shipping?
Next week.
Where do I post my adress so you can send me one?

hello nice video man i make a gimx like your video with arduino leonardo and firmware and all step done but when i press start they never find my gimx adapter any help i aprecciated i cant find any soplution on google i realy want play with my diy wheel this game
Yes, it can be difficult sometimes. I had the same problem too. It took a while until I could make it work. Find me on the MVHstudios discord server. I'll try to help you there.
@@gerzsone30 ty man finaly i get it to work i just chance the axis i have mistake there ty for video my diy wheel work perfect with forza 5 now
ya toca un freno mejor...?
The training mode is genius and cool to see the LFS track on Rfactor :) BTW what are the dimensions of the mounting holes and what are the aproximative dimensions of the Gear box length and width ?
Mounting holes are 60x60mm M5 screws. Outer dimensions are 70x110x100mm
ok... this is cool
I can't wait for this. Is there a reverse gear selection?
Oh, yes. That is triggered by a combination that is very unlikely in real life. Move the lever left, then into 6th gear immediately. You also need to be in a standstill for that, in trained mode.
😲
Hi Marton... I see that it only has two switches... how does it work when you need to change to all the other gears?
Hi It has 2 switches in each axis. Left, right, up, down.
@@gerzsone30 Thanks man. Anyway, I've seen dozens upon dozens of DiY shifter builds- including the Frex-type builds, but this one.. this one is my favorite build.
Can your shifter be marketed by mvhstudios? is the same? Not only does it look like it, it's the same... look for this video Race Beyond Matter,First drive in the future of Sim Shifters.
I'm working for MVH for some time. We have an agreement I can use his site to sell my shifter. All of them are built, tested and packaged by myself.

@@gerzsone30 haha, you are actually right. Pew pew
I'm really happy to see you are still working on this, especially considering how expensive the lockout shifters that are available are.
Are there any available? Clutch cable lockouts don't count. As for the Pro-sim one, nobody has ever seen one in person.
Is it a stand alone project or is it there a kit for sale ?
I'm making more of them for sale. Very soon.
