This is a short and sweet update after doing twists for one year pretty much non-stop. Great length retention but challenging myself to retain even more length in the next six months.

Did you braid in blown out hair ?? Wish you would have show. Us how you put them in😏 I’m currently in a twist routine a bed it’s a lot to constantly retwist.

I've been doing mini braids for a while now and they retain so much length! Mine are smaller than yours, and I keep em in for 6-8weeks before completely redoing them

How long do you keep them in before retwisting?
These braids, I plan to keep in for two weeks but the twists I did every week & it only took me three hours, including wash:)
I'm doing twists for the rest of the year! Your current length is my goal.

I love this hairstyle. My hair prefers mini braids for all the reasons you mentioned. I just wish my mini braids looked fuller and took less time to install 😭
It actually only takes me two hours to braid my hair! I spritz the braids with water after I put them in so they swell and thicken up a bit:)

Thanks for sharing! My hair appeared to grow a lot with twists but I want to be able to wash them in the style to reduce manipulation. I just installed medium sized braids with twists at the last inch because washing my hair in full twists resulted in breakage close to the root and more single strand knots. Hoping I get better results on wash day!
Could you share your experience washing them? It would be so helpful ^^
Yes, twaids! for some reason, my hair was also having some problems where the three strands get put into two when I’m taking them down, but I hope it goes well for you as all of our hair is totally different:)

This is awesome! I love your hair also. Can you tell me approx. how many twists you put your hair into and how long it takes you to do it? Also, how often do you take them down to wash/refresh?
Thank you! I used to do about 36, 9 twists in each section of 4. Took me about an hour and a half(parting, oiling scalp, twirling the ends). I would rock them for about a week then a week of beautiful wavy fro! hope that helps a little!

thanks so much... started doing this to my twist and not only did it help my twist last longer, it made them stretch and did not leave lumps in my hair.
