      I do still love those tuneups and have them on the gun. It depends on what you do with the gun. If you’re using it for hunting rats or squirrels and wearing gloves, I like the heavier stock trigger. If you do more sport shooting then the upgrade would be worth it for sure. It’s definitely a smoother feel once upgraded.

    People can bash Arken all they want, but if you choose to spend $3k-$4k on a scope to do the exact same thing as a $400 scope, all good. I shot with Leupold and Nightforce scopes in the military and really liked the Nightforce scopes, wasn't impressed with the leupold. I have mostly Arken scopes for a couple reasons, they do everything I need them to do, and I am not investing $40k-$50K in rifle scopes for my rifles just to use Nightforce, Razor HD or Leupold. I have a Arken 6-24 on a MK12 rifle, last Summer at the range and dude accidentally bumped in off the bench sitting on the bipod, 12 lb rifle setup flipped off of a 42" bench and landed scope down on the concrete. All it done was concrete rash to the elevation turret and the objective lens cover broke on the hinge. The entire rifle weight landed on the elevation turret and top of objective lens. I checked the turret, all was good, checked zero and still dead on. Then I started dialing out to 200, 300 and 400 shooting and back in 100 yrd increments back to zero stop, tracking was perfect. I emailed Arken with photos just to tell them my scope endured a real drop test and held up perfect, then asked them where I could find a replacement turret cap on their site to purchase. The email reply was, a new turret cap and lens covers are being shipped. I told them it wasn't a warranty issue, stuff happens, I just wanted to buy the replacements and wanted them to know their scope held up to that fall onto concrete. Their reply was, our scopes are covered under warranty.

    • @rogueoutdoorshtkstw
      @rogueoutdoorshtkstw 15 дней назад

      I did not do the same power because that is the main part of the process different. The fact that the Leupold can go down to 3 and up to 18 power and ideally have better lighting than the Arken is the main reason to spend the extra money. So I tested each at their max ability. Just the way I look at how I would test them if I was in the market for a scope right now. Other people may have a different idea, but that’s the beauty of the free market. People can get and test scopes however they feel is best.

      I think this is the first review I've seen that even mentions the replaceable antenna. Rocky Talkie's own website only barely acknowledges this feature, which I think is unfortunate because otherwise it looks like just another FRS/GMRS radio from every "non-Chinese" brand that only has a fixed antenna, but for 5 times the price. I heard about this radio recently and pretty much completely ignored it at first because the antenna looked very short and not replaceable, like a regular bubble pack radio with a little more power and better weatherproofing. Still not sure it's worth the price for what I'd do with it but at least it doesn't have that disadvantage. I don't understand why they haven't bothered to officially advertise that feature at all.

    Chinese scopes are Chinese. This is an infomercial, nothing more. Leupold has been building premium scopes for almost a century, how long has Arken been around again? Yes, scope technology has advanced greatly in the past 15 years and the cheap stuff is way better than it was, but there's a reason why Leupold has that price tag on it. There a reason why the Swarofsky has that price tag and there's a reason why the Leica has that price tag.

    • @rogueoutdoorshtkstw
      @rogueoutdoorshtkstw 17 дней назад

      I don’t disagree that the high end scopes may have some advantages, but this video is definitely not an infomercial. I payed for the scope my self and have no horse in the race. I simply showed the footage and gave my opinion on how I felt they performed. Each person is going to trust and like different products, this is just my experience with the two. I’m looking forward to making a review a year or two down the road so that I can speak to you personal experience about the longevity of the Arken.

    • @mikemelina7395

      @@rogueoutdoorshtkstw Arken doesn't make a scope that competes with Leupold's flagship line, everyone whose watched a C_Does or Dark Lord of Optics scope review understands that, yet dozens of gun-tubers shill for them as if they do. You're doing the same thing everyone else is doing; mistaking a general surge in optical quality and coatings through evolution of the industry for actual quality of a product. In China, they build cities around industries and pay slave wages for the people who have no choice but to work in those industries. Picture an entire city that only produces fishing equipment; Lures, snap swivels, hooks, reels and braid...stolen IP, slave wages, patent infringement and the cheapest possible materials. If I steal something, or have slaves build it I can sell it for whatever I want, it's all profit. "Arken brand" scopes are probably made in the same factory, by the same slave laborers that Maven scopes are, or the dozens of other new scope and optics brands that are flooding the market. You trying to make your name and build a following by reviewing cheap Chinese scopes is only slightly better than those folks at the gun shows selling those $99 "Sniper Scopes" with laser beams...also made by slaves. Japanese glass is better. American glass is better, European glass is better...and they don't have nets surrounding the buildings so the slaves forced to build these products can't jump off the roofs of their factories to escape lives of desperation. 2nd tier European/American/Japanese glass costs a little more, is better and doesn't employ slave-labor or stolen IP. We appreciate the effort, maybe you can find a better use of your talent than inadvertently shilling for Chinese slavers.

    I'm not going to argue that Arken offers a fantastic value compared to an MSRP Leupold. But i think this comparison is missing that these are two very different scopes in that the arken only has to perform optically across a 4x range, whereas the Leupold has a 6X range and is 2 oz lighter weight. The field of view at the 3X low end on the leupold is way more than the 4X Arken, while the high end still delivers more magnification. It really would have been interesting to capture a comparison where the leupold was set for approximately 4x and approximately 16x, where it isn't being judged at one of the extreme limits of is optical range. The issue here is the 80/20 rule: you get 80% of the performance for 20% of the cost whereas that last 20% of performance costs 80% more. I think in leupold's case the "brand name" premium is about 20% the rest of the huge cost difference in that last "20%" wider zoom range and minimizing weight. Leupold doesn't really have a 4x line to make a direct comparison here. A Vx5 4-20 or Vx5 3-15, or Vx3 4.5--14x40 could be other "reasonable" leupold scopes for comparison where where the relative price is much less exaggerated and the scope weight is even lower. An interesting comparison would be the Arken EPL vs a vortex Viper HD, which is still $1000 msrp, and ---like the vx6 ---it is lighter weight than the arken with wider low end field of view. Since it is a 5x vs a 4x, it is a little bit closer of a performance comparison.

      Leupold does indeed offer unconditional lifetime warranty on all of their rifle scopes. Not tension they have the best customer service in the industry.... When I buy a used Leupold from anyone, anywhere, I always send them to Leupold for inspection and checkup. Never had an issue, never had to wait more than 10 days for return. Never been charged..

    I have several Arken optics on everything from my 338LM to my 6mm ARC. Clarity and tracking are simply amazing.

      The ep5 is quite good what you get for the money when you look through 1000 dollar scopes and up it pretty clear it not in that range but under 500 it definitely a beast

    Thanks so much for the great, informative video. This is pushing my next purchase in the direction of Arken after owning and paying Leupold prices.

      I definitely think it’s worth the risk to give Arken a shot. Worst case scenario you could return it if you felt it was not as good. But I would be surprised if that was the case

      Lol, i don't hunt, but i do compete in NRL22 . What's your point in asking that question? Are hunters the only people that can review scopes ? I can guarantee you the hunters i know, know a 1/4 of what ive learned in the past few years from competition. Do better quit being a turd.

      All I do is hunt so that’s the only reason I would need a good scope not to shoot steel

    Good review. I have this scope on my rifle (6.5 creed) and the things you point out are exactly what I have experienced with mine. I shot out to 1190 yards at an 18 inch by 12 inch target with it and it worked great. I have also hunted in low light with it.
