El ascenso al tercer pico más alto de todo el Perú, el volcán nevado Coropuna, con 6,425 m.s.n.m. Traducido del Quechua al español como "altura dorada" o " montaña dorada". Está localizado entre el distrito de Viraco, provincia de Castilla y en el distrito de Salamanca, provincia de Condesuyos del departamento de Arequipa. Este gigantesco complejo de 6 conos volcánicos de 1000 KM² está activo y ha sido origen de toda clase de mitos, misterios y cuentos folclóricos.
