How are you doing today, October 2023? I just had TKR surgery on my right knee September 22nd and had my left one done this past March so I'm recovering from both, yes it's a long healing process but so worth it, hope your doing well

I'm about to have TKR #2, and the first time was horrendous. The drugs barely made a dent in the pain, and I remember just lying in bed and crying. Five years later, my other knee needs surgery. But this time will be different, as I'm going to have a Genicular Nerve Cryo-Ablation, where, under light sedation, a radiologist will insert three large needles around the knee and snake small freezing devices into them. The nerves are then frozen, and although they will regenerate, it takes about 6 months. The main reason to do this is to decrease (or eliminate) post-surgical pain. I am REALLY looking for forward to this, going through the surgery and PT pain-free. The trick will be not to do too much too soon as pain is there for a reason- to make you rest and heal. But the PT was excruciating!! I'd take a pain pill and it would still make me cry, working on getting range of motion in the first two weeks. I'm not sure why more doctors don't prescribe this treatment!

Thank you for posting this video Michelle, I've just watched the video of the knee Surgery so I know what they are going to do. But listening to you gives the person's perspective. I'm having my first knee Surgery on the 19th July and I can't wait. Thank you again and I hope you have fully recovered now and you are well now Michelle.

I work in childcare and we work with ratios so, unlike office work, some adaptations that are mentioned in the video are not possible for me. I have had reasonable adjustments made with my employer, these are mainly needed when I am having a bad pain day (I am being treated for osteoarthritis). Great video though and I am getting in touch with my CAB for advice

Well that’s amazing I have the same type of arthritis and a few and I’m wearing my face covering to protect myself and people don’t mind I am going to see Ed Sheran next year in concert I cannot wait we shouldn’t let Covid stop us but we have to play it safe.
