    I heard about this rudimentarily, so when I had to get new glasses I told my eye doctor during the sight test that I was afraid to say that one option was clearer than the other because I didn't want my glasses to be too strong. Surprisingly, she said, "yes! It's better that they are less clear than most clear!" I even asked her I'd it was good for me to wear my glasses less and she said yes! I thought I might have been convinced of a conspiracy theory lol but she confirmed it. Now, try that with dentist!!! 😭😶

    • @MotwaniLasik

      The generally accepted amount in a normal cornea is 250-300 microns in the bed, which when the epithelium is added would mean between 300-350 microns total.

    • @MotwaniLasik
      @MotwaniLasik 7 месяцев назад

      Absolutely yes. This would be corrected with topographic guided ablation, but central islands will usually have epithelial compensation so we would also treat that to make a uniform cornea again. Since most lasers do not cause central islands anymore, the outcome would actually end up making a more uniform, smoother cornea for better vision than if the central island had not happened.

      Off course. There are many other videos about that on here. But it is not normal PRK, it has to be topography guided to selectively decrease the irregularity. We have created a procedure that also removes the irregularity hidden by epithelial compensation. This is the CREATE+CXL Protocol, and has given us the best vision and best results for keratoconus repair that we have ever seen.
