How can I freeze the first row so when the person scrolls down the survey they are able to keep seeing the instructions?

Thanks very much for the great tutorial! I would like to add a few points for other users to consider when incorporating a table into a form. 1. This is only functional in Enketo (i.e., the web form), and will only appear properly on a mobile device when held in landscape mode. The table does not appear properly in ODK Collect or KoBo Collect (i.e., the mobile data collection apps). 2. The encoded label for question titles (e.g., starting with, "<span...") will appear as the column header when viewing data in the KoBo TOolbox dashboard (e.g., in the "Table" and "Reports" section of the "DATA" tab). This means the KoBo dashboard will display all questions from the table you built with the same coded data column name, rendering them indistinguishable from one another. Hence, you will have to either export the data to XLS with the XML values or access the data via API in order to properly analyze it.

Hello, which API can I use in other not to have the <span> header

@@temitopeadebolaogunweide6475 if you are comfortable using a coding language like Python to access and work with the data, you can find detailed instructions on using the API on the KoBO Toolbox Help Center: support.kobotoolbox.org/api.html If you are not a programmer, simply export the data and make sure you have XML Values selected for the headers. This will apply the data column names as your Excel headers instead of the "SPan" labels used when creating the table.

I am trying to get this same table done but it is coming out vertically instead of horizontally

You can correct this in the KoBo form builder GUI by clicking the "Layout and Settings" button and changing the "Form Style" to "Grid Theme" or by going to the "settings" tab in your XLS Form and adding a column called "style" with the following text in the cell directly beneath the heading, "theme-grid no-text-transform"

@@wesleydewitt9566 I selected the "Grid theme" but I noticed the whole thing changed after I was working on another language. I am working on a project that requires multiple languages. Is there a better way to get a table in asides from the xls

@@temitopeadebolaogunweide6475 are you programming the additional languages in the XLS form or through the "manage translations" section of the FORM tab in KoBO Toolbox? Are the languages using different alphabets (e.g., English and Arabic)? Please give more details and I can try to help troubleshoot. You may also try using the "Matrix" question type to create tables. Please be sure to test your form thoroughly before taking it to collect real data.
