    The fact that you have to dump your pistol instead of re-holstered is insane. Looks like a cool match but could get sketchy really quick.

    • @shootingcomplex
      @shootingcomplex 2 месяца назад

      How is it insane? Designated dump bins/boxes are the standard practice in multi-gun shooting sports.

    • @Dan-Chrssy
      @Dan-Chrssy Месяц назад

      Drop bins (especially ones that are waist high) are almost exclusively for rifles and shotguns in other matches. There’s a very good reason for that. Most open guns (and a hell of a lot of others like stacatto) are absolutely not drop safe. Go drop a loaded open gun in a drop bin and see what happens. Just because it’s not going to happen often doesn’t mean it’s safe

    • @shootingcomplex
      @shootingcomplex Месяц назад

      @@Dan-Chrssy I understand what you're saying and want to respond to this comment for other people that might be curious, you'll never drop a handgun in a bin in these matches. There is always an appropriate form-factor box for handguns that they are "dumped" in. You're also not "dropping" a loaded handgun into a box, the procedure is to unload and eject the remaining round. I have used my open gun before in these matches and the box and procedures is always appropriate and safe.

    • @Dan-Chrssy
      @Dan-Chrssy Месяц назад

      You literally dump a handgun on a trash can at 10:12. All it takes is one idiot not to unload the round. It should either be holster or stop the stage unload show clear and re-engage. You are right you are not dropping a handgun into a box you are dropping it into a trash can

    Excellent choice man! I have a similar type build. Block 2 upper, aero lower, geissele 3g, and a bunch of internal things that don’t really matter like an LMT Enhanced BCG And bolt. But for my optics I’m running a nightforce nx8 2.5-20f1 in a Badger condition one 1.54” mount with a Steiner MPS piggyback at the 12 o’clock. I really wanted an ATACR 1-8 but the budget at the time didn’t allow. I also wanted the most versatile setup I could have for my dream AR10 (LMT MARS H in 308). One day that rifle will be mine and my optics will be ready for it. Great setup man. I do think top mount is best but would not work for 1.70 height. What’s great about it is you can find your target first and pop down into your scope when the magnification is high. I also dig if I want to cant my gun at 45 degree for barriers I can actually use the red dot with my left eye very efficiently. But not at long distances due to the cant of the optic and the zero I throw bullets low and right. But to each their own.

    • @shootingcomplex
      @shootingcomplex 2 месяца назад

      @@T20-c8f the block 2 is still a beast. You’ll like the lmt ar10, I have one and am very pleased with it. The biggest thing for me with top mounting dots is the height over bore for close targets on stages, it’s very easy to tag no shoots because of it. Even shooting close in with the knights high rise can sometimes be an issue

    • @seijiroukikuoka5975
      @seijiroukikuoka5975 2 месяца назад

      @@shootingcomplex the top dot, putting it your way, would at most make it 1.93, which is very ideal for most red dots (I put my red dot at that height, at least). You'll have to learn your hold at any rate, anyhow.

I do hope one of the Clubs / Ranges offer PCSL . I mainly shoot in the Tactical Limited or Tac Optics Division . Both of those Division mean you can have Optic on Pistol . I have 2 different setups I run depending on which match . Most of the time I use my EXPS3 with 3x MAGNIFIER when we are shooting 300Y and in . I'll use my LPVO when we shoot matches out to 600Y .
