Westport Albacore - Painting the Boat Red
Made our second and final trip out of Westport on Sept 1. Found some at Guide Canyon - about 42 miles out thanks to Chris. Tuna fishing is my most favorite hobby EVER. Can you tell?!?

EPIC Tangle Westport, WA Tuna

We ended up with 40, and all I can say is I really should be lifting more weights in the off-season! :-) I was beat. Miraculously, we recovered 3 of the 4 tuna embroiled in the "EPIC tangle."

Bloodbath!
Nothing compares to Tuna Mayhem
You guys rocked it!!!! So many fish! You guys were the fish slayers! Great job!!!
Thanks so much, Staci! I was EXHAUSTED at the end, and I loved every moment of it.
You make it look much simpler than bottom fishing. Do you have a fishing guide service or how can you be reached?
Wow, thanks! Honestly, we're pretty much a zoo all the time. Thank goodness for editing software! 🤣 We're just a family who loves to fish together and throw as much chatter as possible in the process. Thanks again for the comment.
What kind of boat do you guys have?
@@fathersonoutdoors8049 Raider Coastal. We love it! We got to customize some things on it to make it exactly what we like (minus those darn drawer hooks in the back I always get stuck on! 🤣)
Good TUNA dance tutorial. Sharing with my boat buddies
Stopped watching after your handling of the wild king @3:39. No net/no touch release please, it’s not difficult.
Thanks for the comment and perspective.
Super cool! We went out the other day and got 11 trolling and casting swimmers. We don't have a bait tank only a livewell so we didn't have any anchovies. Any tips on converting the bite? Or are anchovies a must... Thanks
Thanks so much for watching. I'm still a tuna newbie, so the last person you should probably be seeking advice from. Ha ha. There have been days when we've only caught them trolling and never really could convert, so I'm not sure what to say about that other than my husband is truly the brains and brawn of our operation, and honestly, he should probably be the one responding to these comments/questions! But I will say on this particular trip, bait was the ticket. Our rectangular bait tank in the back of the Raider has rounded corners and works well for us. I liked watching Del Stephens "The Tuna Dog" Seminar on RUclips though. He's the authority. 🙂 Update: Husband's response: Using iron is a great alternative if you don't have bait options. Hope this helps!
@@KoralMae nice boat! I have the Raider Delta and love it! thanks 👍.
What's with the clickers? Teach them to turn those things off when hooked up
Thanks for commenting. 😂
awesome trip. most that i saw looked like longfin tuna which don't have a daily limit i believe for the person wondering how many were caught. also great job icing the fish!
isnt there a limit ? ..........looks like alot of fish for just a few people ? .............just sayin ...........:)...would be nice to see some of them smaller tuna have a chance to grow up .......
There’s no limit on albacore in Washington. 😊
You guys didn't harpoon a 20lb halibut easy on the harpoon
How far off the coast are you finding them? What type/size of boat do you operate? Thanks
This trip was on August 13, and we ended up going around 38 miles or so out of Westport. The recent satellite shots though have them closer now though. Hoping to get out there as soon as possible again, but we do work for a living. Ha ha. We have a 25' Raider Coastal...which we LOVE.
Dialed crew! Sending this video to some of my guys. Live bait looks so damn fun.
Thanks for the comment and for watching. We sure do have a great time!
Nice going gang
Looks like as awesome day! Congrats. Maybe a couple suggestions for you. The whole crew should have life jackets on…. The entire time…. Inflatables are easy and with people doing the tuna dance on a bloody deck, shit happens…. If you have different color braid on your rods or at least a couple of colors, it is easier to undo the tangles. Wish I could have been out there. Again, congrats on an awesome day!
Fighting belts
Thanks so much for watching. Your channel has some great content! We definitely do the different colors on our rods; it might not have shown up very well in the video though.
Nice Video, reminds me of better days ! I need to find my way back to Sekui .
It's definitely a special (magical) place for our family. Hope you can get back there soon.
Love it 🔥👏
That cooler in the middle of the deck is dangerous. Fucks up the flow.
Maybe you're right. But it is bungee'd down and, by comparison, seems non-existent when navigating around a 1/2 tote on tuna trips. Perspective, I guess. 😀
@@KoralMae injury on the water can be life threatening because of where you are. Removing every obstacle that can be an issue is crucial. Safety above all else.
@@Court-fl8ck Totally. But we were in Sekiu. It doesn't get too sporty out there, and if it does...we are so close to the dock. That said, going out for the day without any hydration wouldn't be safe either. But I'll take your advice under consideration. Sounds like you know your stuff. Thanks!
@@KoralMae absolutely beautiful in Sekiu. Happy fishing. I'm jealous.
@@Court-fl8ck Well, hopefully we can see you out there some day! It's been an annual thing for our family over the decades, and now I can't imagine going through a July without it. Take care and thanks again for watching.
I can only imagine how many times that cooler in the center of the floorboard has been tripped over lol
We actually have it bungee'd to the floor. It never goes anywhere and makes a pretty nice chair while you're waiting. BUT...we typically do lose our Reliable Kill Bag on hali trips since we keep it on the swim step to get it out of the way. Makes for great pandemonium. Fortunately, it floats so we're always able to retrieve it. Knock on wood.
@@KoralMae I mean if someone is netting a fish and the other person is backing up towards the other side of the boat, or something similar. That seems like a ridiculous tripping hazard lol
@@65FASTBACKMAN-dx9ge I see your point, but there's only so much room on the boat, and we like to make it comfortable for the little one, so we have a heater in the only other place where the cooler would go on the inside. And this girl is not going fishing without the beer. Ha ha.
Translations are spot on lol
Thank you so much! Appreciate the watch.
Awesome video. Nice editing. And some good looking kings.
Glad you enjoyed!
For what it is worth. You and your crew run a darn good tuna bite.
Wide open bite…awesome!!! I love those days. Nice job with the controlled chaos!!!
Gotta love the pandemonium! 😂
Is your livewell a square box?? What brand holding box is on your deck? Thanks!
Yes, it’s a square box, but it has rounded corners. The fish tote is SMAK 1/2 tote.
Wait, you were in Neah Bay! Next time let me know, I'd love to meet you all. You guys did great catching the halibut 👍
You are our most favorite RUclips channel. Love how Beau can hustle! We were looking out for you on opening day. We must have just missed you. We will be up that way again two weeks. Can't wait.
@@KoralMae maybe l will see you then!
Yes. I know I say, “ Right on” entirely WAY too much. 😂
Ha ha that looks awesome. Never got to go out and do that but I’m hoping.
Epic! Good ol shit show dance!
This is the first time I’ve seen one of your videos. I would have to say congratulations on your many talents fishing boating, singing, and overall just having fun thank you for sharing this. I hope you have more videos to come and beautiful boat by the way.
Thank you! I’m really lucky to have a family that understands just how much I love to fish!
Very Nice!!!!
Haha yeah I did! Oops 🤣 Great video Koral! I love the ending and the music was perfect! 👌💖
I love how this video showcases what good men we have. They do all the dirty work and give us all the glory. We are so amazingly fortunate!
Yes we are! They are amazing and crazy good at all they do!
That was great! Jess smashed that fish haha. And what a finale. Good work team
I just love this video so much Koral!!! You did a great job videotaping!!!!
I cannot recommend Outlander Charters enough. Captain Jason did a great job of putting us on the fish AND working the deck as you can certainly see in the video. The deckhands, Wes & Bastian, also did a great job of keeping everyone baited up and gaffing our catch. I bet these guys put up with so much crap day in and day out from different people being on the boat, I can't imagine how they stay so cheerful. But they do. If you want to go tuna fishing, this is your boat, y'all!
Great video! Shows what it's like to fish with Outlander Charters.
I have no idea what the loud buzzing is, and I'm not smart enough to edit it out. :-)
fishing in a closed area.... Bringing aboard a chinook over the gunwale while its closed season.... Big NO NOs everywhere!
did you use ur douchebag ?
Was it closed for kings?
A buddy and I were trolling for blackmouth a few weeks ago and we actually snagged a seal, same exact spot i think, between the coupeville and pt. townsend ferry
