I love Gary's voice acting, but I hope there'll be a way to mod in Mike's version of the soviet announcer. It's cool to hear heavy's voice as a heavy main, but I think Mike's voice fit better as an annoucer.

When it comes to the new Soviet Announcer pack, I'll simply repost what I posted in the Steam Community forum: I think it's a band-aid solution that doesn't necessarily address the issue that people had with the unannounced removal in the first place. No offense to Gary Schwartz, the man has done great work and hopefully was compensated well for his contribution, but it kind of misses the point of what the original Soviet Announcer was. The original Soviet announcer was basically an old Mike Z. joke voice that was and brought full circle into the game he helped create. With the references to match. With the new voice, it's less "Soviet Announcer" and more "Heavy from TF2 Guest Announcer". Which is even more clear with the Sandvich reference that was added. It's not Mr. Schwartz fault, either. If they had gotten the VA for Zangief or even Dolph Lundgren putting on his best Rocky IV Ivan Drago, I'd still say the same thing. If the only aspect you were looking for was "guy with Russian accent saying lines" and nothing else, then that's fine, No shade to Mr. Schwartz - he was brought in to do a job and did it well (especially considering his age). However, part of the appeal of the voice pack was about the joke behind it. Which, without Mike providing the voice, is essentially calling in a 3rd party to tell someone else's joke who doesn't really even know what the joke is.

So we trying to hide the past now with the New voice pack?
