30???? How often do u plan on replacing it😅

@@nico-ve7jf I don't really know 😂 but since it takes 1 hour to print one with the specific temperature resistant matetial, I decided to print multiple during it night and it took me 7 hours to do that which saves some time in the future 🤣

1) But my electronic car key stopped working long before - you can try changing the battery in your car key and see if it works 2) Can't work out if it's the electronics causing the problem or the mechanical part of the key lock? I had the same dilemma, so I took the door lock out and through trial and error, I found out that the small switch (shown at 1:40 and 2:05) wasn't being pressed by the white plastic because the upper part of the electric switch had worn out.

@@problemstolearnfrom8119 thank you kindly. I shall try what you suggested. But I am almost certain it's the mechanical side of the lock. When you put the key in and turn it...its feels different if that's makes sense..very loose mechanism where as before you could feel resistance on the key. I have given up on the electronic side ie I had 2 keys. One had the battery and buttons on. I lost that key. Only had a spare key left which had no battery or buttons on it...its purely a key.

He means that there's a motor in the lock (electric motor) that opens and closes the lock of the trunk (normally when it's not broken). And a friend of him had that problem and they (I suppose from the garage) told him that this part is broken. Happened with an Leon 2.

@@anthony69ruiz99 Tienes que hablar sin abrevaciones con extranjeros así no pueden traducirlo con Google (cosas como pq, k etc no funciona). Esta cerradura tiene un motor tmb pero no se puede usar pq este componente de plastico ha sido deteriorado así no funcionó más sabes. Normalmente si escuchas que el motor hace algo si abres la cerradura con la llave, es un componente mecanico que esta roto como aquí tmb. Espero que hayaís solucionado todo. Saludos desde Alemania

@@problemstolearnfrom8119 yes do to frost. But also it is very hard to actually open the boot when its freezing.

Maybe try to spray some wd-40?

How old is your car battery? When the temperature is low, batteries lose charge quite quickly...

@@problemstolearnfrom8119 Well, its a borrowed car, so Im not sure how new it is, but I know it was recently changed. I did get through the emergency unlock step. I already had tried lighting the inside of the slit by that point when I opted to try it once again (I did think I was going insane cuz by the definition of insanity I was doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results) and I found that most of the angles I light at it result the slit seeming even darker than before lighting, but an extremely narrow angle lets you see into the slit. What I saw was that the backdoor was sitting in its place a little deeper than the back door of your Altea, but the soft cover on the inside of the door was holding in a different sorta way also, and I think its due to these small differences is why my car key wasnt reaching the level by a couple of milimeters. So I took a very thin wrench a little longer than the key, reached in and managed to open the back door after a few seconds of practice. Everything else, except a part of the soft cover holding points apparently being held by something that seems to be glued before and the glue held weaker than the holding points, seemed to go well. Got a bit dark and cold so I left it at that, but Ill find another day to take out the handle and check if the switch and the motor are working. Its also weird, because the owner told me the remote button used to work before, but for me it only lights up the red LED and thats about it. Either way its a fine car as much as Ive been borrowing it (about a 1000 kilometers at this time I think, maybe 1100 km).

Hi. The problem is not in the remote key button. The plastic on the electrical switch shown in 1:42 was worn out. So the solution was to add one layer of tape on the white plastic 2:28 that is responsible for activation of the electrical switch when you pull the door handle. The other possible solution was mentioned by Flaviu - he added a drop of super glue directly on the worn out electrical switch. I think that his solution is even better than mine.

@@problemstolearnfrom8119 Hello! If there si a problem about switch in trunk handle, the remote key should open the trunk normal?

The remote key just unlocks the trunk door, but you still have to physically press the electrical switch to open the door as seen in 1:41 to 1:46. The problem lies in the worn out plastic bit at the top of that switch.

@@problemstolearnfrom8119 OK, so the remote just unlock (allow that door can be opened by handle), but not trigger the locking mechanism itself.
